1 Samuel 22
1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard [it], they went down thither to him.
੧ਦਾਊਦ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਅਦੁੱਲਾਮ ਦੀ ਗੁਫਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਟੱਬਰ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਉੱਥੇ ਆ ਗਏ।
2 And every one [that was] in distress, and every one that [was] in debt, and every one [that was] discontented, resorted to him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.
੨ਸਭ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਜ਼ਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਜੋ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
3 And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said to the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, [and be] with you, till I know what God will do for me.
੩ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਮਿਸਪੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
4 And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold.
੪ਸੋ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹੇ।
5 And the prophet Gad said to David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and come into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.
੫ਤਦ ਗਾਦ ਨਬੀ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਰਹਿ। ਚੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵੱਲ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾ। ਸੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰਥ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
6 When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that [were] with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants [were] standing about him; )
੬ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਰਾਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਗਿਬਆਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਝਾਊ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੇਠ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਲਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੜੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ।
7 Then Saul said to his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjaminites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, [and] make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds;
੭ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਆਖਿਆ, ਸੁਣੋ ਹੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨੀਓ! ਕੀ, ਯੱਸੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾਗ਼ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ?
8 That all of you have conspired against me, and [there is] none that showeth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and [there is] none of you that is sorry for me, or showeth to me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
੮ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਂਕੜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਬਣਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੇ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੇ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਛਹਿ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ?
9 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
੯ਤਦ ਦੋਏਗ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਨੋਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹੀਟੂਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
10 And he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
੧੦ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹ ਲਈ ਭੋਜਨ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਗੋਲਿਅਥ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that [were] in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.
੧੧ਤਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਟੂਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਨੋਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਸੱਦਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ।
12 And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I [am], my lord.
੧੨ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਅਹੀਟੂਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣ! ਉਹ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ।
13 And Saul said to him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
੧੩ਤਦ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤੀ? ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਭਈ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੈ।
14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who [is so] faithful among all thy servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honorable in thy house?
੧੪ਤਦ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਧਰਮੀ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ?
15 Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? be it far from me. Let not the king impute [any] thing to his servant, [nor] to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
੧੫ਕੀ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ? ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਵੇ। ਰਾਜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਦੋਸ਼ ਨਾ ਗਿਣੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ।
16 And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father's house.
੧੬ਤਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਅਹੀਮਲਕ, ਤੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਟੱਬਰ!
17 And the king said to the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD: because their hand also [is] with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not show it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.
੧੭ਫੇਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਆਗਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਨਾਲ ਰਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਭਈ ਇਹ ਭੱਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ।
18 And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day eighty and five persons that wore a linen ephod.
੧੮ਤਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਦੋਏਗ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ! ਸੋ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਦੋਏਗ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਚਾਸੀ ਜਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਏਫ਼ੋਦ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
19 And Nob, the city of the priests, he smote with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
੧੯ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖ, ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ, ਬਾਲਕਾਂ, ਦੁੱਧ ਚੁੰਘਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਲ਼ਦਾਂ, ਗਧਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ।
20 And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਅਹੀਟੂਬ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਹੀਮਲਕ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਣਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਸੀ ਬਚ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ।
21 And Abiathar showed David that Saul had slain the LORD'S priests.
੨੧ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।
22 And David said to Abiathar, I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite [was] there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned [the death] of all the persons of thy father's house.
੨੨ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਅਬਯਾਥਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਜਾਣ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਦ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਦੋਏਗ ਉੱਥੇ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੱਬਰ ਦੇ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ।
23 Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou [shalt be] in safeguard.
੨੩ਸੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ।
