1 Samuel 22
1 David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard [it], they went down thither to him.
১পরে দায়ূদ সেখান থেকে গিয়ে অদুল্লম গুহাতে পালিয়ে গেলেন; আর তাঁর ভাইরা ও তাঁর বাবার বাড়ির সবাই তা শুনে সেখানে তাঁর কাছে চলে গেল৷
2 And every one [that was] in distress, and every one that [was] in debt, and every one [that was] discontented, resorted to him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.
২আর পীড়িত, ঋণী ও অসন্তুষ্ট সব লোক তাঁর কাছে জড়ো হল, আর তিনি তাদের সেনাপতি হলেন; এভাবে প্রায় চারশো লোক তাঁর সঙ্গী হল৷
3 And David went thence to Mizpeh of Moab: and he said to the king of Moab, Let my father and my mother, I pray thee, come forth, [and be] with you, till I know what God will do for me.
৩পরে দায়ূদ সেখান থেকে মোয়াবের মিস্পীতে গিয়ে মোয়াব-রাজাকে বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, ঈশ্বর আমার প্রতি কি করবেন, তা যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত আমি জানতে না পারি ততক্ষণ আমার বাবা মা এসে আপনাদের কাছে থাকুন৷”
4 And he brought them before the king of Moab: and they dwelt with him all the while that David was in the hold.
৪পরে তিনি তাঁদেরকে মোয়াব রাজার সামনে আনলেন; আর যতদিন দায়ূদ সেই দুর্গম জায়গায় থাকলেন, ততদিন তাঁরা ঐ রাজার সঙ্গে থাকলেন৷
5 And the prophet Gad said to David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and come into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth.
৫পরে গাদ ভাববাদী দায়ূদকে বললেন, “তুমি আর এই দুর্গম জায়গায় থেকো না, যিহূদা দেশে চলে যাও৷” তখন দায়ূদ হেরত বনে গিয়ে উপস্থিত হলেন৷
6 When Saul heard that David was discovered, and the men that [were] with him, (now Saul abode in Gibeah under a tree in Ramah, having his spear in his hand, and all his servants [were] standing about him; )
৬পরে শৌল শুনতে পেলেন যে, দায়ূদের ও তাঁর সঙ্গীদের খোঁজ পাওয়া গেছে৷ সেই দিনের শৌল বর্শা হাতে গিবিয়ায়, রামার কাছের ঝাউ গাছের নিচে বসে ছিলেন এবং তাঁর চারিদিকে তাঁর সমস্ত দাস দাঁড়িয়েছিল৷
7 Then Saul said to his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjaminites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, [and] make you all captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds;
৭তখন শৌল নিজের চারদিকে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা দাসদেরকে বললেন, “হে বিন্যামীনীয়েরা শোন৷ যিশয়ের ছেলে কি তোমাদের সবাইকে ক্ষেত ও আঙুরের বাগান দেবে? সে কি তোমাদের সকলকেই সহস্রপতি ও শতপতি করবে?
8 That all of you have conspired against me, and [there is] none that showeth me that my son hath made a league with the son of Jesse, and [there is] none of you that is sorry for me, or showeth to me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
৮এই জন্য তোমরা সবাই কি আমার বিরুদ্ধে মতলব করেছ? যিশয়ের ছেলের সঙ্গে আমার ছেলে যে নিয়ম করেছে, তা কেউ আমাকে বলে নি এবং আমার ছেলে আজকের মত আমার বিরুদ্ধে ঘাঁটি বসাবার জন্য আমার দাসকে যে উসকে দিয়েছে, তাতেও তোমাদের মধ্যে কেউ আমার জন্য দুঃখিত হও নি বা আমাকে তা বল নি৷”
9 Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
৯তখন ইদোমীয় দোয়েগ-যে শৌলের দাসদের কাছে দাঁড়িয়েছিল-সে উত্তর দিল, “আমি নোবে অহীটূবের ছেলে অহীমেলকের কাছে যিশয়ের ছেলেকে যেতে দেখেছিলাম৷
10 And he inquired of the LORD for him, and gave him victuals, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.
১০সেই ব্যক্তি তার জন্য সদাপ্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিল ও তাকে খাবার দিয়েছিল এবং পলেষ্টীয় গলিয়াতের তলোয়ার তাকে দিয়েছিল?”
11 Then the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests that [were] in Nob: and they came all of them to the king.
১১তখন রাজা লোক পাঠিয়ে অহীটূবের ছেলে অহীমেলক যাজককে ও তাঁর বাবার সমস্ত বংশকে, নোবে বসবাসকারী সমস্ত যাজককে ডাকলেন; আর তাঁরা সবাই রাজার কাছে আসলেন৷
12 And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I [am], my lord.
১২তখন শৌল বললেন, “হে অহীটূবের ছেলে, শোন৷” তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “হে আমার প্রভু, দেখুন, এই আমি৷”
13 And Saul said to him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?
১৩শৌল তাঁকে বললেন, “তুমি ও যিশয়ের ছেলে আমার বিরুদ্ধে কেন মতলব করলে? সে যেন আজকের মত আমার বিরুদ্ধে উঠে ঘাঁটি বসায়, সেই জন্য তুমি তাকে রুটি ও তলোয়াল দিয়েছ এবং তার জন্য ঈশ্বরের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছ৷”
14 Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who [is so] faithful among all thy servants as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and goeth at thy bidding, and is honorable in thy house?
১৪অহীমেলক রাজাকে উত্তর দিলেন, “আপনার সব দাসের মধ্যে কে দায়ূদের মতো বিশ্বস্ত? তিনি তো মহারাজের জামাই, আপনার লুকানো পরামর্শ জানবার অধিকারী ও আপনার বাড়িতে সম্মানীয়৷
15 Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? be it far from me. Let not the king impute [any] thing to his servant, [nor] to all the house of my father: for thy servant knew nothing of all this, less or more.
১৫আমি কি এই প্রথম বার তাঁর জন্য ঈশ্বরের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছি? কখনই নয়; মহারাজ আপনার এই দাসকে ও আমার সমস্ত বাবার বংশকে দোষ দেবেন না, কারণ আপনার দাস এ বিষয়ের কম কিংবা বেশি কিছুই জানে না৷”
16 And the king said, Thou shalt surely die, Ahimelech, thou, and all thy father's house.
১৬কিন্তু রাজা বললেন, “হে অহীমেলক, তোমাকে ও তোমার সব বাবার বংশকে মরতে হবে৷”
17 And the king said to the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD: because their hand also [is] with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not show it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD.
১৭তখন রাজা নিজের চারপাশে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা পদাতিক সৈন্যদের বললেন, “তোমরা ফিরে দাঁড়াও, সদাপ্রভুর এই যাজকদের হত্যা কর; কারণ এরাও দায়ূদের সাহায্য করে এবং তার পালানোর কথা জেনেও আমাকে শোনায় নি৷” সদাপ্রভুর যাজকদের আক্রমণ করবার জন্য হাত তুলতে রাজার দাসেরা রাজি হল না৷
18 And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day eighty and five persons that wore a linen ephod.
১৮পরে রাজা দোয়েগকে বললেন, “তুমি ফিরে গিয়ে এই যাজকদের আক্রমণ কর৷” তখন ইদোমীয় দোয়েগ ফিরে দাঁড়াল ও যাজকদের আক্রমণ করে সে দিনের মসীনা-সুতোর এফোদ পরা পঁচাশী জনকে হত্যা করল৷
19 And Nob, the city of the priests, he smote with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword.
১৯পরে সে তলোয়ার দিয়ে যাজকদের নোব নগরে আঘাত করল; সে স্ত্রী, পুরুষ, ছোট ছেলে-মেয়ে ও দুধ খাওয়া শিশু এবং গরু, গাধা ও ভেড়া সব তরোয়াল দিয়ে হত্যা করল৷
20 And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.
২০ঐ দিনের অহীটূবের ছেলে অহীমেলকের একমাত্র ছেলে রক্ষা পেলেন; তাঁর নাম অবিয়াথর; তিনি দায়ূদের কাছে পালিয়ে গেলেন৷
21 And Abiathar showed David that Saul had slain the LORD'S priests.
২১অবিয়াথর দায়ূদকে এই খবর দিলেন যে, শৌল সদাপ্রভুর যাজকদের হত্যা করেছেন৷
22 And David said to Abiathar, I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite [was] there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned [the death] of all the persons of thy father's house.
২২দায়ূদ অবিয়াথরকে বললেন, “ইদোমীয় দোয়েগ সেখানে থাকাতে আমি সেদিন ই বুঝেছিলাম যে, সে নিশ্চয়ই শৌলকে খবর দেবে৷ আমিই তোমার বাবার বংশের সব লোকের হত্যার কারণ৷
23 Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou [shalt be] in safeguard.
২৩তুমি আমার সঙ্গে থাক, ভয় পেও না৷ কারণ যে আমাকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করে, সেই তোমাকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করছে৷ কিন্তু আমার সঙ্গে তুমি নিরাপদে থাকবে৷”
