1 Samuel 16
1 And the LORD said to Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Beth-lehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.
परमप्रभुले शमूएललाई भन्नुभयो, “मैले शाऊललाई इस्राएलको राजा हुनबाट इन्कार गरेको कारणले तँ उसको निम्ति कहिलेसम्म विलाप गर्नेछस्? तेरो सीङ्मा तेल भर् र जा । म तँलाई बेथलेहेमको यिशैकहाँ पठाउनेछु, किनकि मैले त्यसका छोराहरूका बिचबाट एक जनालाई मेरो निम्ति राजा चुनेको छु ।”
2 And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul shall hear [it], he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take a heifer with thee, and say, I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.
शमूएलले सोधे, “म कसरी जान सक्छु? शाऊलले यो सुने भने, उसले मलाई मार्नेछ ।” परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “तँसँगै एउटा कोरली लैजा र भन्, 'म परमप्रभुलाई बलिदान चढाउन आएको छु ।'
3 And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint to me [him] whom I name to thee.
यिशैलाई पनि बलिदानमा बोला र तैंले के गर्नुपर्नेछ म तँलाई देखाउनेछु । मैले तँलाई देखाएको एक जनालाई तैंले अभिषेक गर्नेछस् ।”
4 And Samuel did that which the LORD spoke, and came to Beth-lehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably?
शमूएलले परमप्रभुले भन्नुभएझैं गरे र बेथलेहेम गए । सहरका धर्म-गुरुहरू तिनलाई भेट्न आउँदा तिनीहरू डरले कामिरहेका थिए र भने, “के तपाईं शान्तिमा नै आउँदै हुनुहुन्छ?”
5 And he said, Peaceably: I have come to sacrifice to the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.
तिनले भने, “शान्तिमा नै हो । म परमप्रभुलाई बिलदान चढाउन आएको छु । आफैलाई अलग गर्न तयार होओ र मसँगै बलिदानमा आओ ।” तिनले यिशै र तिनका छोराहरूलाई अलग गरे र तिनीहरूलाई बलिदानमा निमन्त्रणा गरे ।
6 And it came to pass when they had come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD'S anointed [is] before him.
जब तिनीहरू आए, तिनले एलीआबलाई हेरे र मनमनै भने परमप्रभुको अभिषिक्त जन निश्चय नै तिनको सामु उभिरहेका थिए ।
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the hight of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
तर परमप्रभुले शमूएललाई भन्नुभयो, “त्यसको बाह्य स्वरूप वा त्यसको कदको उचाइलाई नहेर्, किनभने मैले त्यसलाई इन्कार गरेको छु । किनभने परमप्रभुले मानिसले झैं हे्र्नुहुन्न । मानिसले बाहिरी स्वरूपलाई हेर्छ, तर परमप्रभुले हृदयलाई हेर्नुहुन्छ ।”
8 Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
यिशैले अबीनादाबलाई बोलाए र शमूएलको सामुन्ने हिंड्न लगाए । तब शमूएलले भने, “परमप्रभुले यसलाई पनि चुन्नुभएको छैन ।”
9 Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither hath the LORD chosen this.
यिशैले शम्मालाई नि हिंड्न लगाए, तर शमूएलले भने, “परमप्रभुले यसलाई पनि चुन्नुभएको छैन ।”
10 Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, The LORD hath not chosen these.
यिशैले तिनका सातै जना छोराहरूलाई शमूएलको सामु हिंड्न लगाए । शमूएलले यिशैलाई भने, “परमप्रभुले यिनीहरू कुनैलाई पनि चुन्नुभएको छैन ।”
11 And Samuel said to Jesse, Are here all [thy] children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, Send and bring him: for we will not sit down till he hath come hither.
तब शमूएलले यिशैलाई भने, “के तपाईंका छोराहरू सबै जना यहाँ नै छन्?” तिनले जवाफ दिए, “अझै कान्छो बाँकी नै छ, तर उसले भेडाको गोठाला गरिरहेको छ ।” शमूएलले यिशैलाई भने, “कसैलाई पठाउनुहोस् र तिनलाई झिकाउनुहोस् । तिनी यहाँ नआएसम्म, हामी बस्नेछैनौं ।”
12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he [was] ruddy, [and] also of a beautiful countenance, and a good appearance. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this [is] he.
यिशैले कसैलाई पठाए र तिनलाई ल्याए । यो छोराको राता गाला, सुन्दर आँखा र सुन्दर स्वरूप थियो । परमप्रभुले भन्नुभयो, “उठ्, त्यसलाई अभिषेक गर् । किनभने यही नै हो ।”
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose, and went to Ramah.
अनि शमूएलले तेल भएको सीङ् लिए र तिनलाई आफ्ना दाजुहरूका माझमा अभिषेक गरे । त्यस दिनदेखि परमप्रभुको आत्मा दाऊदमाथि आउनुभयो । त्यसपछि शमूएल उठे र रामातिर गए ।
14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
परमप्रभुको आत्माले शाऊललाई छोड्नुभयो र परमप्रभुको हानिकारक आत्माले तिनलाई दुःख दियो ।
15 And Saul's servants said to him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
शाऊलका सेवकहरूले तिनलाई भने, “हे्र्नुहोस्, परमप्रभुको हानिकारक आत्माले तपाईंलाई दुःख दिन्छ ।
16 Let our lord now command thy servants, [who are] before thee, to seek a man [who is] a skillful player on a harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he will play with his hand, and thou wilt be well.
तपाईंको सामु भएका सेवकहरूलाई कोही वीणा बजाउन निपुण व्यक्तिलाई खोज्न हाम्रो मालिकले आज्ञा गर्नुहोस् । जब परमप्रभुको हानिकारक आत्मा तपाईंमाथि आउँछ, त्यसले वीणा बजाउनेछ, र तपाईं ठीक हुनुहुनेछ ।”
17 And Saul said to his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring [him] to me.
शाऊलले तिनका सेवकहरूलाई भने, “बजाउन निपुण एक जना मानिस मेरो निम्ति खोज र त्यसलाई मकहाँ ल्याऊ ।”
18 Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth-lehemite, [that is] skillful in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD [is] with him.
जवानहरूमध्ये एक जनाले जवाफ दिए, “मैले बेथलेहमका यिशैका छोरा बजाउनमा निपुण, बलियो, साहसी, लडाकु, बोलीवचनमा चतुर, सुन्दर मानिस देखेको छु । अनि परमप्रभु तिनीसँग हुनुहुन्छ ।”
19 Wherefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, Send to me David thy son, who [is] with the sheep.
त्यसैले शाऊलले यिशैकहाँ दूतहरू पठाए र भने, “भेडाहरूसँग भएको तिम्रो छोरा दाऊदलाई मकहाँ पठाऊ ।”
20 And Jesse took an ass [laden] with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent [them] by David his son to Saul.
यिशैले रोटी, दाखमद्यको भाँडो, एउटा पाठोलाई गधामा बोकाए र आफ्नो छोरा दाऊदसँगै ती शाऊलकहाँ पठाए ।
21 And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armor-bearer.
तब दाऊद शाऊलकहाँ आए र तिनको सेवामा प्रवेश गरे । शाऊलले तिनलाई धेरै प्रेम गरे र तिनी उनको हतियार बोक्ने बने ।
22 And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray thee, stand before me; for he hath found favor in my sight.
“दाऊद मेरो सामु खडा रहोस्, किनभने उसले मेरो दृष्टिमा निगाह पाएको छ” भन्ने सामाचार शाऊलले यिशैलाई पठाए ।
23 And it came to pass, when the [evil] spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took a harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
जब-जब शाऊलमाथि परमेश्वरको हानिकारक आत्मा आउँथ्यो, दाऊदले वीणा लिन्थे र त्यो बजाउँथे । यसरी शाऊल पुनः ताजा र सञ्चो हुन्थे, र हानिकारक आत्माले तिनीलाई छोड्थ्यो।
