1 Peter 4
1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
Busa, maingon nga si Cristo miantus diha sa lawas, sangkapi ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon sa samang tinguha, kay bisan kinsa nga magaantus diha sa lawas nakahunong na sa pagpakasala,
2 That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
aron kamo magkinabuhi sulod sa panahon nga nahibilin pa sa lawas dili na tungod sa pagbuot sa tawhanong mga pangibog kondili tungod sa pagbuot sa Dios.
3 For the time past of [our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
Kay kadtong panahona nga miagi igo na alang sa pagbuhat sa buot ipabuhat kaninyo sa mga Gentil, sa paggawi sa kaulag, pangibug, huboghubog, hudyaka-bahakhak sa kombirahan, sinumsumay, ug sa gidili nga pagsimbag mga diosdios.
4 In which they think it strange that ye run not with [them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of [you]:
Sila nanghitingala nga kamo karon dili na man kmakighogoyhogoy uban kanila sa samang pagpatuyang, ug kamo ila nang pagapasipad-an;
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
apan kini sila magahatag ra unyag husay ngadto kaniya nga andam sa paghukom sa mga buhi ug sa mga patay.
6 For, for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Kay kini mao ang hinungdan ngano nga ang Maayong Balita giwali hangtud ngadto sa mga patay, aron nga bisan tuod sila nahinukman na diha sa lawas ingon sa mga tawo, sila mabuhi sa espiritu ingon sa Dios.
7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch to prayer.
Apan ang katapusan sa tanang butang nagkahiduol na; busa magmalinaw kamo sa hunahuna ug batoni ninyo ang maayong panimuot aron kamo manag-ampo.
8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity will cover a multitude of sins.
Ug labaw sa tanan, batoni nga mainiton sa kanunay ang inyong gugma sa usa ug usa, sanglit ang gugma magatabon man sa kapid-an ka mga sala.
9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
Batasana ninyo ang pag-abiabi sa usag usa sa walay pagbagolbol.
10 As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Sumala sa hiyas nga nadawat sa matag-usa, gamita ninyo kini alang sa usag usa ingon nga mga maayong piniyalan sa nagkalainlaing grasya sa Dios:
11 If any man speaketh [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
ang tawo nga magasulti, kinahanglan magasulti siya ingon sa sinultihan sa pulong sa Dios; ang tawo nga magaalagad, kinahanglan magaalagad siya ingon nga may gahum nga hinatag sa Dios; aron nga sa tanang butang ang Dios pagahimayaon pinaagi kang Jesu-Cristo, kang kinsa ang himaya ug ang panggahum hangtud sa kahangturan. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:
Mga hinigugma, ayaw kamo paghikurat sa magasilaob nga kalisdanan nga magaabut sa pagsulay kaninyo, nga kaha pagaingnon ninyo nga usa ka talagsaong butang ang nahitabo kaninyo.
13 But rejoice, seeing ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Magkalipay hinoon kamo sumala sa inyong pagpakaambit sa mga kasakit ni Cristo, aron kamo magakalipay usab ug magamasadyaon inigpadayag na unya sa iyang himaya.
14 If ye are reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you. On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
Kon kamo panamastamasan tungod sa ngalan ni Cristo, bulahan kamo kay ang espiritu sa himaya ug sa Dios anha man kaninyo.
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as] a thief, or [as] an evil-doer, or as a busy-body in other men's matters.
Hinoon ayaw tugoti nga aduna kaninyoy paantuson ingon nga mamumuno, o kawatan, o mamumuhat ug dautan, o mahilabtanon sa mga butang sa ubang mga tawo;
16 Yet if [any man suffereth] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
apan kon aduna may paantuson tungod sa iyang pagka-Cristohanon, nan, dili niya kini pag-ikaulaw, hinonoa kinahanglan magahimaya siya sa Dios tungod sa maong ngalan.
17 For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [beginneth] at us, what will [be] the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Kay panahon na nga pagasugdan ang pagtuman sa hukom diha sa balay sa Dios; ug kon kini magsugod man kanato, unsa man kahay dangatan sa mga tawo nga wala magtuman sa Maayong Balita sa Dios?
18 And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Ug Kon ang matarung lisud man ganing maluwas, unsa man kaha unyay dangatan sa mga dili diosnon ug makasasala?"
19 Wherefore, let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit the keeping of their souls [to him] in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.
Busa sila nga nagaantus sumala sa pagbuot sa Dios kinahanglan magabuhat ug maayo, ug magapiyal sa ilang mga kalag ngadto sa usa ka magbubuhat nga kasaligan.
