1 Wherefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil-speakings,

2 As new-born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

3 If indeed ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious.
kanao fa nitsopeke ty hasoa’ i Talè,
4 To whom coming [as to] a living stone, disallowed indeed by men, but chosen by God, [and] precious,
naho nimb’ama’e, i Vato veloñe nado’ ondatio fe jinobon’ Añahare vaho toe sarotse ama’ey,
5 Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
le ampitroareñe ka nahareo vato veloñeo, ho anjomban’ arofo, naho fisoroñañe miavake, hañenga soron’ arofo non’ Añahare añam’ Iesoà Norizañey.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner-stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
Ty amy pinatetse an-tsokitse masiñe ao: Ingo, apoko e Tsione ao ty vaton-kotsoke jinoboñe, vaton-kotsoke sarotse, le tsy ho salatse ty miato ama’e.
7 To you therefore who believe [he is] precious: but to them who are disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
I hasarota’ey ho ama’ areo mpiatoo, fe amo manjehatseo le: Nivalike ho vato-kotsoke i vato nado’ o mpandranjioy.
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, [even to them] who stumble at the word, being disobedient: to which also they were appointed.
naho ty hoe: Ty vato mahatsikapy naho ty vato mahasirìka. Tsikapie’ i tsaray o mpanjehatseo; fa izay ty nanendreañe iareo.
9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
Fe tariratse jinoboñe nahareo, firimboñam-pisoroñe aman-kasy, fifeheañe miavake, famosora nambahañe ho hanaña’e, hitaroñe ty hasoa’ i nikanjy anahareo hiakatse i ieñey ho ami’ty fireandreaña’e fanjakay.
10 Who in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Amy t’ie tsy nifamosorañe taolo, fe famosoran’ Añahare henaneo; tsy nitretrezeñe fe iferenaiñañe henaneo.
11 Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
O ry noroko, osiheko hoe t’ie ambahiny naho mpañialo, ty hifoneñe amo raha maha­tsontso’ i nofotseio naho mifañotakotak’ am-betsevetse ao.
12 Having your manner of life honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by [your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
Aa le miandalia amy ze fifelehañe noriza’ ondatio, ty amy Talè; naho ty mpanjaka, amy te manandily;
14 Or to governors, as to them that are sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers, and for the praise of them that do well.
naho o ragovao amy t’ie nirahe’e handilo o manao ratio vaho handrenge o manao soao.
15 For so is the will of God, that with well-doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
Izay ty satrin’ Añahare, t’ie mitolon-kasoa ro hampitsiñe ty habahimoa’ ondaty seretseo,
16 As free, and not using [your] liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
toe haha nahareo, le ko atao fandrongonan-karatiañe i fidadàñey, fa iambaneo kanao mpitoron’ Añahare.
17 Honor all [men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
Hene iasio, kokò o rolongoo, mañeveña aman’ Añahare, iasio i mpanjakay.
18 Servants, [be] subject to [your] masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
Ry mpitoroñeo, iambaneo o tompo’ areoo am-pañeveñañe àmpoñe, tsy t’ie soa naho lem-po avao, fa o mengokeo ka.
19 For this [is] thank-worthy, if a man for conscience towards God endureth grief, suffering wrongfully.
Inao ty mañeva isoke, t’ie mpañeveñe aman’ Añahare, ro mifeake sotry te ampisoañeñe tsy aman-katò.
20 For what glory [is it], if, when ye are buffeted for your faults, ye bear it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer [for it], ye bear it patiently, this [is] acceptable with God.
Ino ty tombo’e t’ie mahafifeake lafa ty amo tahiñeo? Ie manao soa te ampisoañeñe vaho mifeak’ am-pahaliñisañe, le hisohen’ Añahare.
21 For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Inao ty nikanjiañe anahareo, kanao nijalea’ i Norizañey, itsikombeo, hañoriha’ areo o lia’eo.
22 Who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Ie tsy nanan-tahiñe, naho tsy nioniñe am-palie’e ty famañahiañe,
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously:
le ie nonjireñe, tsy namale añ’ ònjitse; ie nijale tsy nañebañe, fe nitolom-piato amy Mpizaka an-katòy.
24 Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
Ie ty nivave o hakeon-tikañeo am-pañòva’e an-katae ajale eo, hampihomaheñe o tahiñeo soa te ho veloñe an-kavañonañe tika, fa o fere’eo ro mahajangañe anahareo.
25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Ie nitolom-panjike hoe añondry, fe nitampoly amy Mpiarake naho Mpisari’ o arofo’ areooy henaneo.
