< 1 Kings 11 >

1 But king Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, [and] Hittites;
Ma eze Solomọn hụrụ ọtụtụ ndị inyom mba ọzọ nʼanya, tinyere nwa nwanyị Fero, ha bụ ndị inyom ndị Moab, ndị Amọn, ndị Edọm, ndị Saịdọn na ndị Het.
2 Of the nations [concerning] which the LORD said to the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in to you: [for] surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon cleaved to these in love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
Ọnụọgụgụ ndị inyom Solomọn lụrụ dị narị asaa, bụ ndị amụrụ nʼobi ndị eze. O nwekwara ndị iko nwanyị, ọnụọgụgụ ha dị narị atọ. Ndị inyom ya duhiere obi ya.
4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, [that] his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as [was] the heart of David his father.
Mgbe Solomọn ghọrọ agadi, ndị inyom ndị a duhiere obi ya mee ka ọ gbasoo chi ndị ọzọ, nke mere na o jikwaghị obi ya niile gbasoo Onyenwe anyị Chineke ya, dịka Devid bụ nna ya mere.
5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
Ọ gbasoro Ashtọret, bụ chi ndị Saịdọn na Molek, bụ chi rụrụ arụ nke ndị Amọn.
6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as [did] David his father.
Nʼụzọ dị otu a, Solomọn mere ihe ọjọọ nʼanya Onyenwe anyị. O soghị ụzọ Onyenwe anyị dịka nna ya Devid si mee nʼụbọchị niile nke ndụ ya.
7 Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that [is] before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
Nʼelu ugwu dị nʼọwụwa anyanwụ Jerusalem, Solomọn wuru ebe dị elu nye Kemosh, chi rụrụ arụ nke ndị Moab, wuokwara Molek chi rụrụ arụ nke ndị Amọn.
8 And likewise did he for all his foreign wives, who burnt incense and sacrificed to their gods.
O mekwara otu ihe ahụ nye ndị nwunye ya niile si mba ọzọ, bụ ndị na-achụ aja nsure ọkụ ihe na-esi isi ụtọ, na-achụkwa aja nsure ọkụ dị iche iche nye chi niile ha.
9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
Onyenwe anyị were iwe dị ukwuu megide Solomọn, nʼihi na obi ya esitela nʼebe Onyenwe anyị Chineke Izrel nọ pụọ, bụ onye mere ka ọ hụ ya anya ugboro abụọ.
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
Ọ bụ ezie na o nyere Solomọn iwu ka ọ ghara ịgbaso chi ndị ọzọ, ma Solomọn erubeghị isi nʼiwu a Onyenwe anyị nyere.
11 Wherefore the LORD said to Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done by thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.
Ya mere, Onyenwe anyị gwara Solomọn okwu sị, “Ebe ọ bụ na i mere ihe dị otu a, jụ idebe ọgbụgba ndụ m na ụkpụrụ m, nke m nyere gị idebe, aghaghị m isite nʼaka gị dọkapụ alaeze a, were ya nye otu nʼime ndị na-ejere gị ozi.
12 Notwithstanding, in thy days, I will not do it, for David thy father's sake: [but] I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
Ma nʼihi nna gị Devid agaghị m eme ihe ndị a mgbe ị dị ndụ. Aga m anapụ nwa gị nwoke alaeze Izrel.
13 Yet, I will not rend away all the kingdom; [but] will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.
Ma agaghị m anapụcha ya alaeze Izrel niile, kama aga m eme ka ọ bụrụ eze otu ebo Izrel, nʼihi Devid, na nʼihi Jerusalem, obodo m họpụtara nye onwe m.”
14 And the LORD stirred up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he [was] of the king's seed in Edom.
Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị mere ka onye iro bilie megide Solomọn. Onye a bụ Hadad onye Edọm, onye sikwa nʼezinaụlọ ndị eze Edọm.
15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host had gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom;
Nʼoge gara aga, mgbe Devid na-ebuso ndị Edọm agha, Joab, onyeisi ndị agha, onye gara ili ndị agha e gburu egbu, tigburu ndị ikom niile nọ nʼEdọm.
16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom: )
Joab na ndị agha Izrel niile nọgidere nʼebe ahụ ọnwa isii, tutu ruo mgbe ha gbuchapụrụ ndị ikom niile nọ nʼEdọm.
17 That Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad [being] yet a little child.
Ma Hadad, onye bụ nwantakịrị nʼoge ahụ, gbapụrụ ọsọ gbaga Ijipt, ya na ụfọdụ ndịisi ọchịchị Edọm, ndị jeere nna ya ozi.
18 And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran: and they took men with them from Paran, and they came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt; who gave him a house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.
Ha sitere nʼala Midia gaa Paran. Site na Paran, ha duuru ụfọdụ ndị mmadụ, ndị sooro ha gaa Ijipt, jekwuru Fero eze Ijipt, onye nyere Hadad ụlọ obibi na ala, nyekwa ya ihe oriri.
19 And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him for a wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen.
Hadad hụtara amara nʼihu Fero, nke mere na ọ kpọnyere ya nwanne nwanyị Tapenes bụ nwunye eze ka ọ bụrụ nwunye ya.
20 And the sister of Tahpenes bore him Genubath his son, whom Tahpenes weaned in Pharaoh's house: and Genubath was in Pharaoh's household among the sons of Pharaoh.
Nwanne Tapenes mụtara ya nwa nwoke aha ya bụ Genubat, onye Tapenes zụlitere nʼụlọeze. Genubat biri nʼetiti ụmụ Fero.
21 And when Hadad heard in Egypt that David slept with his fathers, and that Joab the captain of the host was dead, Hadad said to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may go to my own country.
Mgbe Hadad nọ nʼIjipt, ọ nụrụ na Devid sooro ndị nna nna ya ha dina nʼọnwụ na Joab ọchịagha ndị agha anwụọkwala, ọ rịọrọ Fero arịrịọ ka o kwenye ka ọ laghachi nʼEdọm.
22 Then Pharaoh said to him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thy own country? And he answered, Nothing: yet, in any wise let me go.
Fero jụrụ ya ajụjụ sị ya, “Gịnị mere i ji chọọ ịla? O nwere ihe ị chọrọ nke ị na-adịghị enweta nʼebe a?” Hadad zara sị ya, “O nweghị ihe kọrọ m, kama kwere ka m laghachi.”
23 And God stirred him up [another] adversary, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah:
Nwoke ọzọ Chineke mere ka ọ bụrụ onye iro Solomọn bụ Rezon nwa Eliada, onye gbapụrụ site nʼaka nna ya ukwu bụ Hadadeza, eze Zoba.
24 And he gathered men to him, and became captain over a band, when David slew them [of Zobah]: and they went to Damascus, and dwelt in it, and reigned in Damascus.
Devid lara ndị agha Zoba nʼiyi, Rezon chịkọtara ndị ikom gbara ya gburugburu, ghọọ onyendu ha, ndị nnupu isi a gara Damaskọs biri nʼebe ahụ, na-achịkwa nʼebe ahụ.
25 And he was an adversary to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief that Hadad [did]: and he abhorred Israel, and reigned over Syria.
Ogologo ụbọchị niile nke ndụ Solomọn, Rezon bụ onye iro Izrel, tinyekwara nsogbu nke Hadad wetaara Izrel. Rezon bụ eze ndị Aram, bụrụkwa onye na-emegide Izrel.
26 And Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephrathite of Zereda, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name [was] Zeruah, a widow woman, even he raised [his] hand against the king.
Jeroboam nwa Nebat, onye Ifrem nke Zereda, otu nʼime ndị ozi Solomọn, biliri megide eze. Nne ya bụ Zerua, nwanyị di ya nwụrụ anwụ.
27 And this [was] the cause why he raised [his] hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, [and] repaired the breaches of the city of David his father.
Nke a bụ akụkọ banyere otu o siri bilie imegide eze: Solomọn wugharịrị Milo, wuziekwa ntipu dị na mgbidi obodo Devid bụ nna ya.
28 And the man Jeroboam [was] a mighty man of valor: and Solomon, seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
Ugbu a Jeroboam, nʼonwe ya, bụ dimkpa. Mgbe Solomọn hụrụ otu nwokorobịa a si arụzi ọrụ ya nke ọma, o mere ya onye nlekọta ndị ọrụ niile si nʼezinaụlọ Josef.
29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two [were] alone in the field:
Ma otu ụbọchị, mgbe Jeroboam si Jerusalem na-apụ, o zutere Ahija onye amụma, onye Shilo, nʼụzọ, ebe o yi uwe ọhụrụ. Ọ bụkwa naanị ha abụọ nọ nʼọhịa mgbe ahụ.
30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that [was] on him, and rent it [in] twelve pieces:
Mgbe ahụ, Ahija yipụrụ uwe ọhụrụ nke o yi nʼahụ dọwasịa ya ụzọ iri na abụọ.
31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom from the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:
Mgbe ahụ, ọ gwara Jeroboam sị, “Chịrị iberibe iri nye onwe gị, nʼihi na otu a ka Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel sịrị, ‘Lee, aga m anapụ Solomọn alaeze a, ma aga m enyekwa gị ebo iri nʼime ha.
32 (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel: )
Ma aga m ahapụrụ ya otu ebo, nʼihi ohu m Devid na nʼihi Jerusalem obodo m họpụtara site nʼebo niile nke Izrel.
33 Because they have forsaken me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon, and have not walked in my ways, to do [that which is] right in my eyes, and [to keep] my statutes and my judgments, as [did] David his father.
Nʼihi na ha ahapụla m malite ịkpọ isiala nye Ashtọret, chi nwanyị ndị Saịdọn; na nyekwa Kemosh, chi ndị Moab; na nye Molek, chi ụmụ Amọn. Ha agbasoghị ụzọ m, ha emekwaghị ihe ndị ahụ m gụrụ dịka ezi ihe. Ha edebeghị iwu m na ụkpụrụ m niile dịka Devid nna Solomọn mere.
34 Yet I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
“‘Ma agaghị m anapụ alaeze ya ugbu a, nʼihi ohu m Devid, onye m họpụtara, na onye mere ihe tọrọ m ụtọ. Aga m ahapụ Solomọn ka ọ nọgide dịka eze ụbọchị ndụ ya niile.
35 But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand, and will give it to thee, [even] ten tribes.
Ma aga m anapụ alaeze ya site nʼaka nwa ya, nye gị ebo iri.
36 And to his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a light always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for me to put my name there.
Nwa ya ka m ga-enye otu ebo, nʼihi na achọrọ m ka Devid ohu m nọgide ịbụ eze Jerusalem, obodo m họpụtara nye onwe m, ebe m mere ka Aha m dịrị.
37 And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel.
Ma otu ọ dị, gị ka m ga-ewere. Ị ga-abụkwa onye ga-achị ebe ahụ niile obi gị chọrọ; i ga-abụ eze Izrel.
38 And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken to all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to thee.
Ọ bụrụ na i gee ntị mee ihe niile m ga-enye gị nʼiwu, jekwa ije nʼirubere m isi, mee ihe ziri ezi nʼanya m, site nʼidebe ụkpụrụ niile na iwu niile, dịka ohu m Devid mere, aga m anọnyere gị. Aga m ewuru gị ụlọ ga-adịgide dịka m siri wuoro Devid. Aga m enyekwa gị Izrel.
39 And I will for this afflict the seed of David, but not for ever.
Aga m eweda agbụrụ Devid nʼihi ihe a, ma ha agaghị abụ ndị e wedara nʼala ruo ebighị ebi.’”
40 Solomon sought therefore to kill Jeroboam. And Jeroboam arose, and fled into Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, and was in Egypt until the death of Solomon.
Solomọn gbalịrị igbu Jeroboam, ma Jeroboam gbaara ọsọ gbakwuru eze Shishak nke Ijipt. Ọ nọkwara nʼIjipt ruo mgbe Solomọn nwụrụ.
41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, [are] they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
Ma banyere ihe ndị ọzọ mere nʼoge ọchịchị Solomọn, nke bụ, ihe niile o mere na amamihe o gosipụtara, ọ bụ na-edeghị ha nʼakwụkwọ akụkọ nke Solomọn?
42 And the time that Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel [was] forty years.
Solomọn chịrị Izrel niile iri afọ anọ na Jerusalem.
43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
O sooro nna nna ya ha dina nʼọnwụ, e lie ya nʼobodo Devid bụ nna ya. Rehoboam nwa ya, ghọkwara eze nʼọnọdụ nna ya.
