1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, called [to be] an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes [our] brother,
૧કરિંથમાંના ઈશ્વરના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયના, જેઓને ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં પવિત્ર કરવામાં આવેલા છે, જેઓને સંતો તરીકે તેડવામાં આવેલા છે તથા જેઓ હરકોઈ સ્થળે આપણા પ્રભુ, એટલે તેઓના તથા આપણા પ્રભુ, ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને નામે પ્રાર્થના કરે છે તે સર્વને,
2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.
૨આપણા ઈશ્વરની ઇચ્છાથી ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનો પ્રેરિત થવાને તેડાયેલો પાઉલ તથા ભાઈ સોસ્થનેસ લખે છે.
3 Grace [be] to you, and peace from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ.
૩આપણા પિતા ઈશ્વર તરફથી તથા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત તરફથી તમને કૃપા તથા શાંતિ હો.
4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
૪ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં ઈશ્વરની જે કૃપા તમને આપવામાં આવી છે, તેને માટે હું તમારા વિષે મારા ઈશ્વરનો આભાર નિત્ય માનું છું;
5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and [in] all knowledge;
૫કેમ કે જેમ ખ્રિસ્ત વિષેની અમારી સાક્ષી તમારામાં દ્રઢ થઈ તેમ,
6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
૬સર્વ બોલવામાં તથા સર્વ જ્ઞાનમાં, તમે સર્વ પ્રકારે તેમનાંમાં ભરપૂર થયા.
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
૭જેથી તમે કોઈ પણ કૃપાદાનમાં અપૂર્ણ ન રહેતાં, આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તનાં પ્રગટ થવાની રાહ જુઓ છો.
8 Who will also confirm you to the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
૮તમે આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને દિવસે નિર્દોષ માલૂમ પડો, એ માટે તે તમને અંત સુધી દૃઢ રાખશે.
9 God [is] faithful, by whom ye were called to the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
૯જે ઈશ્વરે તમને તેમના દીકરા આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તની સંગતમાં તેડેલા છે, તે વિશ્વાસુ છે.
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment.
૧૦હવે, ભાઈઓ, હું આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તને નામે તમને વિનંતી કરું છું કે તમે સર્વ દરેક બાબતમાં એકમત થાઓ, તમારામાં પક્ષ પડવા ન દેતાં એક જ મનના તથા એક જ મતના થઈને પૂર્ણ ઐક્યમાં રહો.
11 For it hath been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by them [who are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
૧૧મારા ભાઈઓ, આ એટલા માટે કહું છું કે તમારા સંબંધી ક્લોએના ઘરનાં માણસો તરફથી મને ખબર મળી છે કે તમારામાં વાદવિવાદ પડયા છે.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
૧૨એટલે મારા કહેવાનો અર્થ એ છે કે, તમારામાંનો કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો પાઉલનો;’ કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો આપોલસનો’ કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો કેફાનો;’ અને કોઈ કહે છે કે, ‘હું તો ખ્રિસ્તનો છું.’”
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
૧૩શું ખ્રિસ્તનાં ભાગ થયા છે? શું પાઉલ તમારે માટે વધસ્તંભે જડાયો છે? અથવા શું તમે પાઉલના નામે બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા હતા?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
૧૪હું ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ કરું છું કે, ક્રિસ્પસ તથા ગાયસ સિવાય મેં તમારામાંના કોઈનું બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું નથી.
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in my own name.
૧૫રખેને એમ ન થાય કે તમે મારે નામે બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા હતા.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
૧૬વળી સ્તેફનના કુટુંબનું પણ મેં બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું હતું; એ સિવાય મેં બીજા કોઈનું બાપ્તિસ્મા કર્યું હોય, એની મને ખબર નથી.
17 For Christ hath not sent me to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
૧૭કારણ કે બાપ્તિસ્મા કરવા માટે નહિ, પણ સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરવા માટે, ખ્રિસ્તે મને મોકલ્યો; એ કામ વિદ્વતાથી ભરેલા પ્રવચનથી નહિ, એમ ન થાય કે ખ્રિસ્તનો વધસ્તંભ નિરર્થક થાય.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but to us who are saved, it is the power of God.
૧૮કેમ કે નાશ પામનારાઓને તો વધસ્તંભની વાત મૂર્ખતા જેવી લાગે છે; પણ અમો ઉદ્ધાર પામનારાઓને તો તે ઈશ્વરનું સામર્થ્ય છે.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
૧૯કેમ કે લખેલું છે કે, ‘હું જ્ઞાનીઓના ડહાપણનો નાશ કરીશ અને બુદ્ધિમાનોની બુદ્ધિને નિરર્થક કરીશ.’””
20 Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
૨૦જ્ઞાની ક્યાં છે? શાસ્ત્રી ક્યાં છે? આ જમાનાનો વાદવિવાદ કરનાર ક્યાં છે? શું ઈશ્વરે જગતના ડહાપણને મૂર્ખતા ઠરાવી નથી? (aiōn g165)
21 For when in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
૨૧કેમ કે જયારે ઈશ્વરે પોતાના જ્ઞાન પ્રમાણે નિર્માણ કર્યું હતું તેમ જગતે પોતાના જ્ઞાન વડે ઈશ્વરને ઓળખ્યા નહિ, ત્યારે જગત જેને મૂર્ખતા ગણે છે તે સુવાર્તા પ્રગટ કરવા દ્વારા વિશ્વાસ કરનારાઓનો ઉદ્ધાર કરવાનું ઈશ્વરને પસંદ પડયું.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek wisdom:
૨૨યહૂદીઓ ચમત્કારિક ચિહ્નો માગે છે અને ગ્રીક લોકો જ્ઞાન શોધે છે;
23 But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness;
૨૩પણ અમે તો વધસ્તંભે જડાયેલા ખ્રિસ્તને પ્રગટ કરીએ છીએ, તે તો યહૂદીઓને અવરોધરૂપ અને ગ્રીક લોકોને મૂર્ખતારૂપ લાગે છે.
24 But to them who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
૨૪પરંતુ જેઓને તેડવામાં આવ્યા, પછી તે યહૂદી હોય કે ગ્રીક હોય, તેઓને તો ખ્રિસ્ત એ જ ઈશ્વરનું સામર્થ્ય તથા ઈશ્વરનું જ્ઞાન છે.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
૨૫કારણ કે માણસો ના જ્ઞાન કરતાં ઈશ્વરની મૂર્ખતામાં વિશેષ જ્ઞાન છે, અને માણસો ની શક્તિ કરતાં ઈશ્વરની નિર્બળતામાં વિશેષ શક્તિ છે.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble [are called]:
૨૬ભાઈઓ, ઈશ્વરના તમારાં તેડાને લક્ષમાં રાખો કે, માનવીય ધોરણ મુજબ તમારામાંના ઘણાં જ્ઞાનીઓ ન હતા, પરાક્રમીઓ ન હતા, ઉચ્ચ કુળમાં જન્મેલા ન હતા.
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
૨૭પણ ઈશ્વરે જ્ઞાનીઓને શરમાવવા સારુ દુનિયાના મૂર્ખોને અને શક્તિમાનોને શરમાવવા સારુ દુનિયાના નિર્બળોને પસંદ કર્યા છે.
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are:
૨૮વળી જેઓ મોટા મનાય છે તેઓને નહિ જેવા કરવા માટે, ઈશ્વરે દુનિયાના અકુલીનોને, ધિક્કાર પામેલાઓને તથા જેઓ કશી વિસાતમાં નથી તેઓને પસંદ કર્યા છે
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
૨૯કે, કોઈ મનુષ્ય ઈશ્વરની આગળ અભિમાન કરે નહિ.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God is made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
૩૦પણ ઈશ્વર ની કૃપા થી તમે ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમાં છો, તેઓ તો ઈશ્વર તરફથી આપણે સારુ જ્ઞાન, ન્યાયીપણું, પવિત્રતા તથા ઉદ્ધાર થયા છે;
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
૩૧લખેલું છે કે, ‘જે કોઈ ગર્વ કરે તે પ્રભુમાં ગર્વ કરે.’”
