1 Corinthians 12
1 Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
Ahora bien, respecto a las cosas espirituales, hermanos, no quiero que seáis ignorantes.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
Sabéis que cuando erais paganos, os dejasteis llevar por aquellos ídolos mudos, como quiera que fueseis.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.
Por eso os hago saber que ningún hombre que hable por el Espíritu de Dios dice: “Jesús es maldito”. Nadie puede decir: “Jesús es el Señor”, sino por el Espíritu Santo.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
Hay diversas clases de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
Hay diversas clases de servicio, pero el mismo Señor.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh all in all.
Hay diversas clases de obras, pero un mismo Dios que hace todas las cosas en todos.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man for profit.
Pero a cada uno se le da la manifestación del Espíritu para beneficio de todos.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another, the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
Porque a uno se le da por medio del Espíritu la palabra de sabiduría, y a otro la palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu,
9 To another, faith by the same Spirit; to another, the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
a otro la fe por el mismo Espíritu, y a otro los dones de sanidad por el mismo Espíritu,
10 To another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, discerning of spirits; to another, [divers] kinds of languages; to another, the interpretation of languages:
y a otro la realización de milagros, y a otro la profecía, y a otro el discernimiento de espíritus, a otro las diversas clases de lenguas, y a otro la interpretación de lenguas.
11 But all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
Pero el mismo Espíritu produce todo esto, distribuyendo a cada uno por separado como quiera.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.
Porque así como el cuerpo es uno y tiene muchos miembros, y todos los miembros del cuerpo, siendo muchos, son un solo cuerpo, así también es Cristo.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
Porque en un solo Espíritu fuimos todos bautizados en un solo cuerpo, sean judíos o griegos, sean siervos o libres; y a todos se nos dio a beber en un solo Espíritu.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Porque el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
Si el pie dijera: “Como no soy la mano, no soy parte del cuerpo”, no es por tanto parte del cuerpo.
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
Si la oreja dijera: “Porque no soy el ojo, no soy parte del cuerpo”, no es por tanto parte del cuerpo.
17 If the whole body [were] an eye, where [were] the hearing? If the whole [were] hearing, where [were] the smelling?
Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? Si todo el cuerpo fuera oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
Pero ahora Dios ha puesto los miembros, cada uno de ellos, en el cuerpo, tal y como él quería.
19 And if they were all one member, where [were] the body?
Si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?
20 But now [are they] many members, yet but one body.
Pero ahora son muchos miembros, pero un solo cuerpo.
21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
El ojo no puede decir a la mano: “No te necesito”, ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: “No te necesito”.
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
No, mucho más bien, los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más débiles son necesarios.
23 And those [members] of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely [parts] have more abundant comeliness.
Aquellas partes del cuerpo que nos parecen menos honrosas, a esas les concedemos más abundante honor; y nuestras partes impresentables tienen más abundante modestia,
24 For our comely [parts] have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honor to that [part] which lacked:
mientras que nuestras partes presentables no tienen tal necesidad. Pero Dios compuso el cuerpo en conjunto, dando más abundante honor a la parte inferior,
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the members should have the same care one for another.
para que no haya división en el cuerpo, sino que los miembros tengan el mismo cuidado unos de otros.
26 And thus if one member suffers all the members suffer with it; or, if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
Cuando un miembro sufre, todos los miembros sufren con él. Cuando un miembro es honrado, todos los miembros se alegran con él.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Ahora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y los miembros individualmente.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, next miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of languages.
Dios ha puesto a algunos en la asamblea: primero, apóstoles; segundo, profetas; tercero, maestros; luego, obradores de milagros; después, dones de sanidad, de ayuda, de gobierno y de diversas clases de lenguas.
29 [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles?
¿Son todos apóstoles? ¿Son todos profetas? ¿Son todos maestros? ¿Son todos taumaturgos?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak in languages? do all interpret?
¿Tienen todos dones de curación? ¿Hablan todos varios idiomas? ¿Todos interpretan?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts. And yet I show to you a more excellent way.
Pero desead seriamente los mejores dones. Además, os muestro un camino muy excelente.
