1 Corinthians 11
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.
我も自らキリストに倣へる如く、汝等我に倣へ。
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered [them] to you.
第一項 集會の時に避くべき弊害 第三編 祭式に関する問題 兄弟等よ、我汝等が何事に於ても我を記憶し、汝等に傳へし如く我教を守るを賞す。
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.
然るに我汝等の之を知らん事を欲す、即ち凡ての男の頭はキリスト、女の頭は男、キリストの頭は神なり。
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having [his] head covered, dishonoreth his head.
総て男は頭に物を被りて祈祷し預言すれば其頭を辱め、
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with [her] head uncovered, dishonoreth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaved.
総て女は頭に物を被らずして祈祷し預言すれば却て其頭を辱む、是剃髪せるに等しければなり。
6 For if the woman is not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.
蓋女もし物を被らずば髪を剪るべし、然れど髪を剪り或は剃る事を女に取りて耻とせば、頭に物を被るべし。
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover [his] head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
男は神の像にして又光榮なれば物を被るべきに非ず、然れど女は男の光榮なり、
8 For the man is not from the woman, but the woman from the man.
是男は女よりに非ずして女は男よりせり、
9 Neither was the man created for the woman, but the woman for the man.
男は女の為に造られずして、女は男の為に造られたればなり。
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on [her] head, because of the angels.
此故に女は天使等に對して、[戴ける]権利[の徴]を頭に有つべきなり。
11 Nevertheless, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord.
然りながら主に在りては、男なくしては女あらず、女なくしては男あらざるなり、
12 For as the woman [is] from the man, even so [is] the man also by the woman; but all things from God.
蓋女が男よりせし如く、男も亦女を以て生り、而して一切は神より出づ。
13 Judge in yourselves: Is it comely that a woman should pray to God uncovered?
汝等自ら判断せよ、物を被らずして神に祈祷する事、女に取りて相應しからんや。
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man hath long hair, it is a shame to him?
自然其物も亦教ふるに非ずや。即ち男髪を起つれば身に取りて耻なれども、
15 But if a woman hath long hair, it is a glory to her: for [her] hair is given her for a covering.
女の髪を起つるは身の誉なり、是女は被物として髪を與へられたればなり。
16 But if any man seemeth to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
假令之を抗弁ふと見ゆる人はありとも、我等にも神の諸教會にも斯る慣例は存せざるなり。
17 Now in this that I declare [to you], I praise [you] not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
我之を命じて汝等を賞せず、其は集りて善く成らず、却て惡しく成ればなり。
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
先汝等が教會として集る時分裂ありと聞けば、我幾分か之を信ず。
19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they who are approved may be made manifest among you.
蓋汝等の中に是認せられたる人の顕れん為には、異端さへ起るべき筈なるをや。
20 When therefore ye come together in one place, [this] is not to eat the Lord's supper.
然れば汝等が一に集る時は、最早主の晩餐を食せんとには非ず。
21 For in eating every one taketh before [another] his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
蓋各前に己が晩餐を食するが故に、飢ゑたる人あれば酩酊したる人もあり。
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise [you] not.
飲食する為には自宅にあるに非ずや、或は神の教會を軽んじて乏しき人を辱めんとするか、汝等に何をか謂ふべき、汝等を賞せんか、我之をば賞せざるなり。
23 For I have received from the Lord, that which also I delivered to you, That the Lord Jesus, the [same] night in which he was betrayed, took bread:
蓋我が主より承りて汝等にも傳へし所にては、主イエズス付され給へる夜に當りて麪を取り、
24 And when he had given thanks, he broke [it], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
謝して之を擘き、然て曰く、汝等取りて食せよ、是は汝等の為に付さるべき我體なり、汝等我記念として之を為せ、と。
25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.
晩餐の後同じく杯を取りて曰く、此杯は我血に於る新約なり、飲む度毎に汝等我記念として之を為せ、と。
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he shall come.
蓋主の來り給ふまで、汝等此麪を食し又杯を飲む度毎に、主の死を示すなり。
27 Wherefore, whoever shall eat this bread, and drink [this] cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
故に誰にもあれ相應しからずして此麪を食し、或は主の杯を飲まん人は、主の御體と御血とを犯さん。
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of [that] bread, and drink of [that] cup.
然れば人は己を試し、然して後彼麪を食し杯を飲むべし。
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh condemnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
其は相應しからずして飲食する人は、主の御體を弁へず、己が宣告を飲食する者なればなり。
30 For this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
此故に汝等の中には、病める者弱れる者多く、且死せる者多し。
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
我等もし自ら審かば審かるる事なからん、
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
審かるるも、其は此世と共に罪せられざらん為に主より懲され奉るなり。
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
然れば我兄弟等よ、食せんとて集る時、互に待合はせよ。
34 And if any man hungereth, let him eat at home; that ye come not together to condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
飢たる人あらば、汝等が集りて審かるる事を免れん為に、自宅にて食事すべし。其他の事は我至らん時之を定めん。
