< 1 Corinthians 10 >
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
Nawkamyanawk, aicae ampanawk loe kawbangmaw tamai thungah oh o moe, tuipui angkat o thai boih, tito panoek ai ah ohsak han kang koeh o haih ai;
2 And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
nihcae loe tamai hoi tuipui thungah Mosi tuinuemhaih to hnuk o boih;
3 And all ate the same spiritual food;
Muithla takaw to nawnto a caak o boih,
4 And all drank the same spiritual drink: (for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.)
Muithla tui to nawnto a naek o boih: Muithla lungsong hoiah kalong tui to a naek o: to lungsong loe Kri ni.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Toe nihcae thung ih pop parai kaminawk loe Sithaw koeh baktiah khosah o ai: to pongah nihcae loe praezaek ah anghmat angtaa o.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
Nihcae mah kahoih ai hmuen koeh o baktih toengah, aicae mah koeh o toeng han ai ah, hae hmuenawk loe aicae mah khet han koi kaom hmuen ah ni oh.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as [were] some of them: as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
Nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk mah krang bok o baktih toengah, krang to bok o hmah; kaminawk loe caak naek hanah anghnut o moe, kanawm acaeng hanah angthawk o, tiah tarik ih oh.
8 Neither let us commit lewdness, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
Nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk loe nongpa nongpata zaehaih to sak o moe, nito thungah sang pumphae thumto duek o baktih toengah, nongpa nongpata zaehaih to sah o hma si.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
Nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk mah Angraeng to tanoek o pongah, pahui mah patuk moe, duek o baktih toengah, Kri to tanoek o hma si.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
Nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk mah laisaep o pogah, kami hum kaminawk ih ban ah duek o baktih toengah, laisaep o hmah.
11 Now all these things happened to them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. (aiōn )
Nihcae nuiah kaom hae hmuennawk boih loe minawk han khet koi kaom hmuen ah ni oh: long tue boeng khoek to kaom aicae thuitaek han ih ni tarik. (aiōn )
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
To pongah kacakah kang doet boeh, tiah poekhaih tawn kami loe amtim han ai ah acoe nasoe.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].
Kami mah tong vai ai ih pacuekhaih to na nuiah pha vai ai: toe Sithaw loe oepthoh, Anih loe nangcae mah pauep thai ai khoek to pacuekhaih to phasak mak ai; pacuekhaih na pauep o thai hanah, pacuekhaih thung hoiah loihhaih loklam to na hnusak tih.
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
To pongah, palung ih ampuinawk, krang bokhaih to caeh o taak ah.
15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
Palungha kaminawk khaeah thuih ih lok baktiah ni kang thuih o; ka thuih ih lok hae poek oh.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
Tahamhoihaih boengloeng hoiah kawnhaih lawk a thuih o moe, a naek o naah, Kri ih athii na ai maw a naek o? Takaw a aeh moe, a caak o naah, Kri ih takpum ah angpehhaih hoiah na ai maw a caak o?
17 For we [being] many are one bread, [and] one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
Kami a pop o parai e, takaw kae maeto caak angbomh kami ah a oh o pongah, aicae loe takaw kae maeto, takpum maeto ah ni a oh o.
18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they who eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?
Taksa ah kaom Israelnawk to khen o noek ah: hmaicam ah toksah kaminawk mah na ai maw angbawnhaih moi to caak o?
19 What then do I say? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
To tiah ka thuih naah, krang doeh, krang angbawnhaih moi doeh lokpui parai ah poek tangtang han angaih, tiah ka thuih koehhaih ih maw?
20 But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with demons.
To tiah ka thuih koehhaih ih na ai ni. Gentelnawk angbawnhaih loe Sithaw angbawnhaih ih na ai, taqawknawk khaeah ni angbawnhaih to a sak o: nangcae loe taqawk hoi angkom han kang koeh o haih ai.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of demons.
Angraeng ih boengloeng hoi taqawk ih boengloeng to na nae o hmaek thai mak ai: Angraeng ih caboi hoi taqawk ih caboi nuiah buh na caa o hmaek thai mak ai.
22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Aicae mah Angraeng utsak han ih maw a sak o? Aicae loe Anih pongah tha a cak o kue maw?
23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
Hmuennawk boih sak thaihaih ka tawnh, toe hmuennawk boih sak han hoih ai: hmuennawk boih ka sak thaih, toe hmuennawk boih mah qoenghaih paek ai.
24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's [wealth].
Mi kawbaktih doeh angmah taham khue pakrong ai ah, kami boih mah minawk taham to pakrong nasoe.
25 Whatever is sold in the provision market, [that] eat, asking no question for conscience' sake:
Kasae kahoih pathlaeng thai hanah lokduenghaih om ai ah, moi zawhhaih ahmuen ih moinawk boih to caa oh.
26 For the earth [is] the Lord's, and its fullness.
Long hoi a thungah kaom hmuennawk boih loe, Angraeng ih ni.
27 If any of them that believe not invites you [to a feast], and ye are disposed to go; whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question on account of conscience.
Tanghaih tawn ai kami mah buhcaak han ang kawk o naah, caeh han na koeh o nahaeloe, kasae kahoih pathlaeng hanah lokduenghaih om ai ah, na hma ah patoem ih caaknaeknawk boih to caa oh.
28 But if any man shall say to you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience' sake: for the earth [is] the Lord's, and its fullness:
Toe mi mah maw nangcae khaeah, Hae loe krang angbawnhaih moi ni, tiah thui nahaeloe, thuikung ih mikhmai khet khue ai ah, kasae kahoih panoek to boeh pongah to moi to caa o hmah: long hoi a thungah kaom hmuennawk boih loe Angraeng ih ni:
29 Conscience, I say, not thy own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged by another [man's] conscience?
kasae kahoih panoekhaih, tiah thuih naah, nangmah ih poekhaih to na ai ah, minawk poekhaih to thuih koehhaih ih ni: tipongah minawk ih kasae kahoih panoekhaih palungthin mah ka loihhaih to pakaa tih loe?
30 For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
Kawnhaih lawkthuih hoiah ka caak moe, kawnhaih lawk ka thuih boeh loe, kawbangmaw minawk mah kai kasae na thui o thai tih?
31 Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
To pongah nangcae mah na caak o maw, to tih ai boeh loe na naek o maw, to tih ai boeh loe na sak o ih hmuennawk boih ah, Sithaw lensawkhaih amtuengsak hanah sah oh.
32 Give no offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Judahnawk, Gentelnawk, Sithaw ih kricaabunawk amtim hanah hmuen to sah o hmah:
33 Even as I please all [men] in all [things], not seeking my own profit, but the [profit] of many, that they may be saved.
nihcae mah pahlonghaih hnuk o thai hanah, kaimah amekhaih to ka pakrong ai, minawk amekhaih ni ka pakrong, hmuen boih ah minawk boih koehhaih sahkung ah ka oh.
