1 Chronicles 5

1 Now the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel, (for he [was] the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birth-right was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birth-right.

رئوبین پسر ارشد اسرائیل بود. اما حق ارشد بودن رئوبین از او گرفته شد و به پسران برادر ناتنی‌اش یوسف داده شد، چون رئوبین با مُتعه پدر خود همبستر شده، پدر خود را بی‌حرمت کرد. از این رو، در نسب نامه، نام رئوبین به عنوان پسر ارشد ذکر نشده است.

2 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him [came] the chief ruler; but the birth-right [was] Joseph's: )

هر چند یهودا در بین برادرانش از همه قویتر بود و از میان قبیلهٔ او یک رهبر برخاست، ولی حق ارشد بودن به یوسف تعلق گرفت.

3 The sons, [I say], of Reuben the first-born of Israel [were], Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

اینها پسران رئوبین (پسر بزرگ یعقوب) بودند: حنوک، فلو، حصرون و کرمی.

4 The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

اینها اعقاب یوئیل هستند: شمعیا، جوج، شمعی،

5 Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,

میکا، رایا، بعل

6 Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away [captive]: he [was] prince of the Reubenites.

و بئیره. بئیره رئیس قبیلهٔ رئوبین بود که تغلت فلاسر، پادشاه آشور او را اسیر کرد و برد.

7 And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, [were] the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

سران طوایف رئوبین که نامشان در نسب نامه نوشته شد اینها بودند: یعی‌ئیل، زکریا، بالع (پسر عزاز، نوهٔ شامع و نبیرهٔ یوئیل). رئوبینی‌ها در منطقه‌ای که بین عروعیر، نبو و بعل معون قرار دارد، ساکن شدند.

8 And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even to Nebo, and Baal-meon:

9 And eastward he inhabited to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

گله‌های آنها در زمین جلعاد زیاد شده بود و از این جهت از طرف شرق تا حاشیه صحرا که به کنار رود فرات می‌رسید، سرزمین خود را وسعت دادند.

10 And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east [land] of Gilead.

در زمان سلطنت شائول، مردان رئوبین به حاجریان حمله بردند و آنها را شکست دادند و در خیمه‌های آنها، در حاشیهٔ شرقی جلعاد، ساکن شدند.

11 And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan to Salcah:

قبیلهٔ جاد در سمت شمال قبیلهٔ رئوبین، در سرزمین باشان تا سرحد سلخه ساکن بودند.

12 Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

رئیس قبیلهٔ جاد یوئیل نام داشت و شافام، یعنای و شافاط از بزرگان قبیله بودند.

13 And their brethren of the house of their fathers [were], Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.

بستگان ایشان، یعنی سران هفت طایفه، اینها بودند: میکائیل، مشلام، شبع، یورای، یعکان، زیع و عابر.

14 These [are] the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

این افراد از نسل ابیحایل هستند. (ابیحایل پسر حوری بود، حوری پسر یاروح، یاروح پسر جلعاد، جلعاد پسر میکائیل، میکائیل پسر یشیشای، یشیشای پسر یحدو، و یحدو پسر بوز.)

15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.

اخی، پسر عبدی‌ئیل و نوهٔ جونی رئیس این طایفه‌ها بود.

16 And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.

این طایفه‌ها در جلعاد (واقع در سرزمین باشان) و اطراف آن و در تمام منطقه سرسبز و خرم شارون زندگی می‌کردند.

17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

نسب نامهٔ ایشان در زمان سلطنت یوتام پادشاه یهودا و یربعام پادشاه اسرائیل ثبت شد.

18 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skillful in war, [were] four and forty thousand seven hundred and sixty, that went out to the war.

سپاه مشترک رئوبین، جاد و نصف قبیلهٔ منسی از ۴۴٬۷۶۰ سرباز شجاع و تعلیم دیده و مسلح تشکیل شده بود.

19 And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.

آنها به جنگ حاجریان، یطور، نافیش و نوداب رفتند.

20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that [were] with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated by them; because they put their trust in him.

ایشان دعا کردند و از خدا کمک خواستند و خدا هم به دادشان رسید، زیرا که بر او توکل داشتند. پس حاجریان و متحدان آنان شکست خوردند.

21 And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men a hundred thousand.

غنایم جنگی که به دست آمد عبارت بود از: ۵۰٬۰۰۰ شتر، ۲۵۰٬۰۰۰ گوسفند، ۲٬۰۰۰ الاغ و ۱۰۰٬۰۰۰ اسیر.

22 For there fell down many slain, because the war [was] of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

عدهٔ زیادی از دشمنان هم در جنگ کشته شدند، زیرا خدا بر ضد آنها می‌جنگید. پس مردم رئوبین تا زمان تبعیدشان، در سرزمین حاجریان ساکن شدند.

23 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan to Baal-hermon and Senir, and to mount Hermon.

افراد نصف قبیلهٔ منسی بسیار زیاد بودند و در منطقهٔ واقع در بین باشان، بعل حرمون، سنیر و کوه حرمون ساکن شدند.

24 And these [were] the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, [and] heads of the house of their fathers.

اینها سران طوایف ایشان بودند: عافر، یشعی، الی‌ئیل، عزری‌ئیل، ارمیا، هودویا و یحدی‌ئیل. هر یک از آنها رهبرانی قوی و شجاع و معروف به شمار می‌آمدند،

25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

ولی نسبت به خدای اجدادشان وفادار نبودند. آنها بتهای کنعانی‌ها را که خدا آنها را از بین برده بود می‌پرستیدند.

26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, to this day.

پس خدای اسرائیل، فول پادشاه آشور را (که به تغلت فلاسر معروف بود) برانگیخت و او به آن سرزمین حمله کرد و مردان رئوبین، جاد و نصف قبیلهٔ منسی را اسیر نمود و آنها را به حلح، خابور، هارا و کنار نهر جوزان برد که تا به امروز در آنجا ساکن هستند.
