< 1 Chronicles 23 >
1 So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
Mgbe Devid ghọrọ nnọọ agadi, ụbọchị ndụ ya jukwara ya afọ, o mere Solomọn nwa ya, eze Izrel.
2 And he assembled all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.

3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.

4 Of which, twenty and four thousand [were] to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand [were] officers and judges:

5 Moreover, four thousand [were] porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise [with them].

6 And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, [namely], Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
Devid kewara ndị Livayị nʼoke, nʼoke dịka ụmụ ndị ikom Livayị si dị: Geshọn, Kohat na Merari.
7 Of the Gershonites, [were], Laadan and Shimei.
E kekwara ikwu Geshọn ụzọ abụọ dịka ụmụ ya si dị, Ladan na Shimei.
8 The sons of Laadan: the chief [was] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
Ndị sitere nʼezinaụlọ Ladan dị ndị ikom atọ: Jehiel, onyeisi ha, Zetam na Juel.
9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These [were] the chief of the fathers of Laadan.
Ụmụ Shimei bụ, Shelomot, Haziel na Haran, ha dị ndị ikom atọ. Ndị a niile bụ ndịisi ezinaụlọ nʼikwu Ladan.
10 And the sons of Shimei [were], Jahath, Zina, and Jeush and Beriah. These four [were] the sons of Shimei.
Ụmụ Shimei bụ, Jahat, Ziza, Jeush na Beriya. Ha dị ndị ikom anọ.
11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to [their] father's house.
Jahat bụ onye mbụ, Ziza onye nke abụọ. Ma Jeush na Beriya amụtaghị ọtụtụ ụmụ ndị ikom. Nʼihi ya, a gụnyekọtara ha dịka otu ezinaụlọ, kenye ha otu ọrụ.
12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.

13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name for ever.

14 Now [concerning] Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
Ụmụ Mosis, onye nke Chineke ka a gụnyekọtara dịka ndị si nʼebo Livayị.
15 The sons of Moses [were], Gershom, and Eliezer.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Mosis bụ, Geshọm na Elieza.
16 Of the sons of Gershom; Shebuel [was] the chief.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Geshọm bụ Shubuel, onye mbụ.
17 And the sons of Eliezer [were], Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
Ụmụ ụmụ Elieza bụ Rehabaya onye mbụ. Elieza amụtaghị ụmụ ndị ikom ọzọ, ma ụmụ ndị ikom Rohabaya dị ọtụtụ.
18 Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Izha bụ Shelomit onye mbụ.
19 Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jehaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Hebrọn bụ Jereaya onye mbụ, na Amaraya, onye nke abụọ, Jahaziel onye nke atọ, na Jekameam, onye nke anọ.
20 Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first, and Jesiah the second.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Uziel bụ Maịka, onye mbụ, na Ishaya, onye nke abụọ.
21 The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Merari bụ Mahali na Mushi Ụmụ ndị ikom Mali bụ Elieza na Kish
22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
Elieza nwụrụ na-amụtaghị ụmụ ndị ikom. Ọ bụ naanị ụmụ ndị inyom ka ọ mụtara. Ụmụ nwanne nna ha, ụmụ ndị ikom Kish, lụrụ ha.
23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
Ụmụ ndị ikom Mushi bụ Mahali, Eda na Jeremot. Ha dị ndị ikom atọ.
24 These [were] the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; [even] the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
Ndị a bụ ụmụ ụmụ Livayị dịka ezinaụlọ ha si dị, ndịisi ezi, dịka e si debanye aha, na dịka e si gụọ ha ọnụ nʼotu nʼotu, ya bụ ndị na-arụ ọrụ nʼụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị, ndị gbara iri afọ abụọ gbagoo.
25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest to his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever;
Nʼihi na Devid kwuru sị, “Ebe ọ bụ na Onyenwe anyị, Chineke Izrel enyela ndị ya udo, ebe ọ bụkwa na ọ ga-ebi na Jerusalem ruo ebighị ebi.
26 And also to the Levites: they shall no [more] carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for its service.
Ugbu a, ọ dịkwaghị mkpa ọ dị na ndị Livayị ga na-ebugharị ụlọ ikwu, maọbụ ngwongwo ọbụla nke ije ozi niile ya.”
27 For by the last words of David the Levites [were] numbered from twenty years old and above:
Ịgụ ndị Livayị ọnụ bụ otu nʼime ihe ikpeazụ Devid mere tupu ọ nwụọ. A gụrụ ndị Livayị gbara iri afọ abụọ gbagoo ọnụ.
28 Because their office [was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
Ọrụ e nyere ndị Livayị niile bụ inyere ụmụ Erọn ndị nchụaja aka nʼofufe nʼụlọnsọ ukwu Onyenwe anyị: ilekọta ogige, na ọnụụlọ nta ndị dị nʼakụkụ ya niile, na ime ka ihe nsọ niile dị ọcha, na ịrụ ọrụ ọbụla e nyere ha nʼụlọ Chineke.
29 Both for the show-bread, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [that which is baked in] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;
Ọ bụkwa ọrụ ha iwebata achịcha a na-eche nʼihu Chineke, na ụtụ ọka e ji enye onyinye mkpụrụ ọka, na achịcha mbadamba a na-ejighị ihe na-eko achịcha mee. Ọrụ ha bụkwa ịgwakọta ihe e ji eme achịcha, na ighe ya, na ilekọta ihe ọtụtụ niile e ji atụ ihe.
30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening;
Ụtụtụ ọbụla, na anyasị ọbụla, ọ bụ ọrụ ha iguzo nʼihu Onyenwe anyị ịbụ abụ otuto, na ekele.
31 And to offer all burnt-sacrifices to the LORD on the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded to them, continually before the LORD:
Ha na-enyekwa aka nʼihe gbasara aja nsure ọkụ a na-achụ nʼụbọchị izuike, na nʼoge mmemme ọnwa ọhụrụ, na mmemme ndị ọzọ niile a kara aka. Mgbe niile ka ha ga-eje ozi ha nʼihu Onyenwe anyị dịka usoro ha na ọnụọgụgụ ha si dị.
32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy [place], and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
Ya mere, e tinyere ọrụ ilekọta ụlọ nzute Onyenwe anyị, na ụlọnsọ ukwu ahụ nʼaka ha. Ha ka ọ dịkwara inyere ndị ikwu ha, bụ ndị nchụaja ahụ, ụmụ Erọn, aka nʼọrụ ha niile nʼụlọnsọ ukwu ahụ.
