1 Chronicles 23
1 So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
૧જયારે દાઉદ ઘણો વૃદ્ધ થયો. ત્યારે તેણે રાજપદેથી નિવૃત્તિ લીધી. અને તેણે તેના પુત્ર સુલેમાનને ઇઝરાયલ પર રાજા તરીકે નીમ્યો.
2 And he assembled all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
૨દાઉદે ઇઝરાયલના સર્વ આગેવાનોને, યાજકોને અને લેવીઓને એકઠા કર્યા.
3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
૩ત્રીસ વર્ષના અને તેથી વધારે વય ધરાવતા લેવીઓની ગણતરી કરવામાં આવી. તેઓની સંખ્યા આડત્રીસ હજાર થઈ.
4 Of which, twenty and four thousand [were] to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand [were] officers and judges:
૪તેઓમાંના ચોવીસ હજારને ઈશ્વરના ભક્તિસ્થાનના કામની દેખરેખ સોંપવામાં આવી અને છ હજારને અમલદારો અને ન્યાયાધીશો તરીકે નીમ્યા.
5 Moreover, four thousand [were] porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise [with them].
૫ચાર હજારને દ્વારપાળો તરીકે નીમ્યા. દાઉદે પોતે બનાવેલા વાજિંત્રો સાથે ઈશ્વરની સ્તુતિ કરવા માટે, ચાર હજાર ગાયકોને નિમણૂક આપી.
6 And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, [namely], Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
૬દાઉદે તેઓને; ગેર્શોન, કહાથ અને મરારી, એમ ત્રણ વિભાગમાં, લેવીઓના પુત્રોના નામ પ્રમાણે વહેંચ્યા.
7 Of the Gershonites, [were], Laadan and Shimei.
૭ગેર્શોનના કુળના વંશજો: લાદાન અને શિમઈ.
8 The sons of Laadan: the chief [was] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
૮લાદાનના ત્રણ દીકરા: યહીએલ ઝેથામ અને યોએલ.
9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These [were] the chief of the fathers of Laadan.
૯શિમઈના ત્રણ દીકરા: શલોમોથ, હઝીએલ, હારાન. તેઓ લાદાનના કુળના મુખ્ય આગેવાનો હતા.
10 And the sons of Shimei [were], Jahath, Zina, and Jeush and Beriah. These four [were] the sons of Shimei.
૧૦શિમઈના ચાર દીકરા: યાહાથ, ઝીના, યેઉશ, અને બરિયા.
11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they were in one reckoning, according to [their] father's house.
૧૧યાહાથ જ્યેષ્ઠ હતો, તેની પછી બીજા ક્રમે ઝીઝાહ, પણ યેઉશ અને બરિયાને ઘણાં પુત્રો ન હતા, તેથી તેઓ એક જ કુટુંબ તરીકે ગણાયા.
12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
૧૨કહાથના ચાર દીકરા: આમ્રામ, યિસ્હાર, હેબ્રોન અને ઉઝિયેલ.
13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name for ever.
૧૩આમ્રામના દીકરા: હારુન અને મૂસા. હારુન અને તેના વંશજોને; પરમપવિત્ર વસ્તુઓ અર્પવા, યહોવાહ આગળ ધૂપ બાળવા, તેમની સેવા કરવા અને તેમના નામે આશીર્વાદ આપવા માટે કાયમી ધોરણે, પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા હતા.
14 Now [concerning] Moses the man of God, his sons were named of the tribe of Levi.
૧૪પણ ઈશ્વરના સેવક મૂસાના સંદર્ભમાં, તેના દીકરાઓને, લેવીઓમાં ગણવામાં આવ્યા હતા.
15 The sons of Moses [were], Gershom, and Eliezer.
૧૫મૂસાના દીકરા: ગેર્શોમ અને એલિએઝેર.
16 Of the sons of Gershom; Shebuel [was] the chief.
૧૬ગેર્શોમના વંશજોમાં શબુએલ, જ્યેષ્ઠ હતો.
17 And the sons of Eliezer [were], Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
૧૭એલિએઝેરનો જ્યેષ્ઠ દીકરો રહાબ્યા. એલીએઝેરને બીજા દીકરા ન હતા, પણ રહાબ્યાનાં ઘણાં સંતાનો હતા.
18 Of the sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
૧૮યિસ્હારનો જ્યેષ્ઠ દીકરો, શલોમિથ.
19 Of the sons of Hebron; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jehaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
૧૯હેબ્રોનના દીકરા: સૌથી મોટો યરિયા, બીજો અમાર્યા, ત્રીજો યાહઝીએલ અને ચોથો યકામામ.
20 Of the sons of Uzziel; Micah the first, and Jesiah the second.
૨૦ઉઝિયેલના દીકરામાં જ્યેષ્ઠ મિખા અને બીજો યિશ્શિયા.
21 The sons of Merari; Mahli, and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar, and Kish.
૨૧મરારીના દીકરા માહલી અને મુશી. માહલીના દીકરા: એલાઝાર અને કીશ.
22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them.
૨૨એલાઝાર મૃત્યુ પામ્યો ત્યારે તેને એકપણ દીકરો નહોતો. તેને ફક્ત દીકરીઓ જ હતી. કીશના દીકરાઓએ તેઓની સાથે લગ્ન કર્યા.
23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
૨૩મુશીના ત્રણ દીકરા: માહલી, એદેર અને યેરેમોથ.
24 These [were] the sons of Levi after the house of their fathers; [even] the chief of the fathers, as they were counted by number of names by their polls, that did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from the age of twenty years and upward.
૨૪તેઓ પોતાનાં કુટુંબો પ્રમાણે લેવીઓના દીકરા હતા. જેઓ નામવાર ગણતરીમાં ગણાયા હતા. તેઓ વીસ તથા તેથી વધારે ઉંમરના હતા. તેઓ યહોવાહના ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવાનું કામ કરતા હતા. તેઓ પોતાના કુટુંબોનાં મુખ્ય આગેવાનો હતા.
25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest to his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever;
૨૫દાઉદે કહ્યું, “ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહે, તેમના લોકોને વિશ્રામ આપ્યો છે. તેઓ સર્વકાળ યરુશાલેમમાં નિવાસ કરશે.
26 And also to the Levites: they shall no [more] carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for its service.
૨૬હવે લેવીઓને, પવિત્ર મંડપ અને તેની સેવાને સારુ સામગ્રી ઊંચકવાની જરૂર નહિ પડે.”
27 For by the last words of David the Levites [were] numbered from twenty years old and above:
૨૭દાઉદના અંતિમ શબ્દોથી, વીસ અને તેથી વધારે વર્ષની વયના લેવીપુત્રોની ગણતરી કરવામાં આવી હતી.
28 Because their office [was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
૨૮તેઓનું કામ, યહોવાહના ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવાને સારુ હારુનના પુત્રોને મદદ કરવાનું હતું. તેઓએ આંગણાઓમાં, ઓરડાઓમાં, સર્વ પવિત્ર વસ્તુઓના શુદ્ધિકરણમાં અને ઈશ્વરના ભક્તિસ્થાનમાં સેવાના કામમાં, હારુનપુત્રોને સહાયરૂપ થવાનું કામ કરવાનું હતું.
29 Both for the show-bread, and for the fine flour for meat-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, and for [that which is baked in] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all manner of measure and size;
૨૯ઈશ્વરને અર્પેલી રોટલી માટે, ખાદ્યાર્પણો માટેના લોટ માટે, ખમીર વગરની રોટલીના કે તવામાં શેકેલા કે તળેલા ખાદ્યાર્પણ માટે અને તમામ વસ્તુઓના તોલ અને માપ માટે પણ તેઓએ ધ્યાન રાખવાનું હતું.
30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at evening;
૩૦વળી તેઓએ દરરોજ સવારે યહોવાહનો આભાર માનવા અને સ્તુતિ કરવા માટે ઊભા રહેવાનું હતું. એ જ રીતે સાંજે પણ
31 And to offer all burnt-sacrifices to the LORD on the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded to them, continually before the LORD:
૩૧તથા યહોવાહની આગળ કાયમના ઠરાવેલા કાનૂન પ્રમાણે વિશ્રામવારે તથા ચંદ્રદર્શન અને નિયત તહેવારોને દિવસે ઠરાવેલી સંખ્યામાં યહોવાહને દહનીયાર્પણો અર્પણ કરવાની સેવામાં ઊભું રહેવાનું હતું.
32 And that they should keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the holy [place], and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, in the service of the house of the LORD.
૩૨યહોવાહના સભાસ્થાનની સેવાને સારુ મુલાકાતમંડપની, પવિત્રસ્થાનની અને તેમના ભાઈઓ હારુનના પુત્રોની સંભાળ રાખવી એ તેઓની જવાબદારી હતી.
