1 Chronicles 17

1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD [remaineth] under curtains.

தாவீது தன் அரண்மனையில் குடியமர்ந்த பின்பு இறைவாக்கினன் நாத்தானிடம், “நான் கேதுரு மரத்தினால் செய்யப்பட்ட அரண்மனையில் குடியிருக்கிறேன்; யெகோவாவின் உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியோ இன்னும் கூடாரத்தின் கீழேயே இருக்கிறது” என்றான்.

2 Then Nathan said to David, Do all that [is] in thy heart; for God [is] with thee.

அதற்கு நாத்தான் தாவீதிடம், “இறைவன் உன்னோடிருக்கிறபடியால், உன் மனதில் என்ன இருக்கிறதோ நீ அதைச் செய்” என்று சொன்னான்.

3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

அன்று இரவே நாத்தானுக்கு இறைவனின் வார்த்தை வந்தது:

4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in:

“நீ போய் என் அடியவன் தாவீதிடம் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது, ‘யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: நான் குடியிருக்க ஒரு வீட்டைக் கட்டுவது நீ அல்ல.

5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from [one] tabernacle [to another].

நான் இஸ்ரயேலரை எகிப்திலிருந்து அழைத்துவந்த நாளிலிருந்து, இன்றுவரை ஒரு வீட்டில் குடியிருக்கவில்லை. நான் ஒரு கூடாரத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு கூடாரத்திலும், ஒரு இருப்பிடத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு இருப்பிடத்திலுமாக மாறிமாறி வசித்தேன்.

6 Wherever I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me a house of cedars?

நான் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுடன் போன இடங்களிலெல்லாம், மக்களை வழிநடத்தும்படி நான் கட்டளையிட்ட இஸ்ரயேலின் தலைவர்கள் யாரிடமாவது, “எனக்கு கேதுரு மரத்தால் ஒரு வீட்டை ஏன் கட்டவில்லை என எப்போதாவது கேட்டதுண்டா?”’

7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say to my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheep-cote, [even] from following the sheep, that thou shouldst be ruler over my people Israel:

“இப்பொழுது எனது அடியவன் தாவீதிடம் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது: ‘சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே: எனது மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு ஆளுநனாயிருக்கும்படி வயல்வெளியின் ஆடுகளை மேய்ப்பதிலிருந்தும் உன்னைத் தெரிந்தெடுத்தேன்.

8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thy enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that [are] in the earth.

நீ போன இடமெல்லாம் உன்னோடுகூட நான் இருந்தேன். நான் உனது எல்லாப் பகைவர்களையும் உனக்கு முன்பாக வெட்டிப் போட்டேன். இப்பொழுது பூமியிலுள்ள மேன்மையானவர்களின் பெயருக்கு ஒப்பாக உனது பெயரை மேன்மைப்படுத்துவேன்.

9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning.

அதோடு எனது மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு ஒரு இடத்தைக் கொடுப்பேன். அந்த இடத்தை தங்களுக்கு சொந்தமாக்கும்படியும், அவர்கள் இனி அலையாமலும் நான் அவர்களை நிலைநாட்டுவேன். தொடக்கத்தில் செய்ததுபோல் கொடியவர்கள் இனி ஒருபோதும் அவர்களை ஒடுக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

10 And since the time that I commanded judges [to be] over my people Israel. Moreover, I will subdue all thy enemies. Furthermore, I tell thee that the LORD will build thee a house.

இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்கு மேலாக நான் தலைவர்களை நியமித்த காலந்தொடங்கி நடந்ததுபோல, அந்தக் கொடியவர்கள் அவர்களை இனிமேலும் ஒடுக்கமாட்டார்கள். நான் உனது பகைவர்கள் எல்லோரையும் அடக்குவேன். “‘அத்துடன், யெகோவாவே உனக்கு ஒரு வீட்டைக் கட்டுவார் என அறிவிக்கிறேன்:

11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days shall be ended that thou must go [to be] with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, who shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

உனது காலம் முடிந்து நீ உனது முற்பிதாக்களுடன் சேரும்போது, உனது சந்ததியில் ஒருவனை எழுப்பி உனது சொந்த மகன் ஒருவனுக்கு உனது அரியணையைக் கொடுப்பேன். நான் அவனுடைய அரசாட்சியை நிலைநிறுத்துவேன்.

12 He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne for ever.

அவனே எனக்கு ஒரு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுவான்; நான் அவனுடைய அரியணையை என்றென்றும் நிலைக்கப்பண்ணுவேன்.

13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took [it] from [him] that was before thee:

நான் அவனுடைய தகப்பனாயிருப்பேன்; அவன் எனது மகனாயிருப்பான். உனக்குமுன் ஆட்சியிலிருந்தவர்களிடமிருந்து எனது அன்பை அகற்றினதுபோல, நான் எனது அன்பை ஒருபோதும் அவனைவிட்டு அகற்றமாட்டேன்.

14 But I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

நான் அவனை என் ஆலயத்திலும், என் அரசாட்சியிலும் என்றென்றைக்குமாக அமர்த்துவேன்; அவனுடைய அரியணை என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.’”

15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.

இவ்வாறு நாத்தான் இந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளின்படியும், இந்த எல்லா வெளிப்படுத்தலின்படியும் தாவீதுக்குச் சொன்னான்.

16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who [am] I, O LORD God, and what [is] my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

அப்பொழுது தாவீது அரசன் உள்ளே போய், யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்னால் உட்கார்ந்து சொன்னதாவது: “யெகோவாவாகிய இறைவனே, இதுவரைக்கும் நீர் என்னை வழிநடத்துவதற்கு நான் யார்? எனது குடும்பத்திற்கு என்ன அருகதை உண்டு?

17 And [yet] this was a small thing in thy eyes, O God; for thou hast [also] spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.

இறைவனே, உமது பார்வையில் இதுவும் போதாதென்று அடியவனின் குடும்பத்தின் எதிர்காலத்தைப்பற்றியும் பேசியிருக்கிறீர். யெகோவாவாகிய இறைவனே, எல்லா மனிதரிலும் மேன்மையுள்ளவனாக என்னைக் கணித்தீரே.

18 What can David [speak] more to thee for the honor of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.

“இவ்வாறு உமது அடியவனைக் கனப்படுத்தியதற்கு இதைவிட வேறு எதை தாவீது உமக்குச் சொல்வான்? உமது அடியவனைப்பற்றி உமக்கே தெரியும்.

19 O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thy own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all [these] great things.

யெகோவாவே, உமது அடியவனுக்காக உமது திட்டத்தின்படி இப்பெரிய செயலைச் செய்து, இந்த எல்லா மேன்மையான வாக்குத்தத்தங்களையும் தெரியப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறீர்.

20 O LORD, [there] is none like thee, neither [is there any] God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

“யெகோவாவே, நாங்கள் எங்கள் சொந்த காதுகளால் கேட்டவற்றின்படி உமக்கு இணையானவர் யாரும் இல்லை. உம்மைத்தவிர வேறொரு இறைவனும் இல்லை.

21 And what one nation in the earth [is] like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem [to be] his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?

உமது மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலரைப்போல வேறு யாரும் உண்டோ? இறைவனாகிய நீர், பூமியில் உமக்காக மீட்டுக்கொண்ட இந்த நாட்டைப்போல், வேறு ஒரு நாடு உண்டோ? இந்த மக்களை உமக்கு உரியவர்களாகவும் உமக்கு பெயர் உண்டாகும்படியும் நீர் எகிப்திலிருந்து மீட்டுக்கொண்டு வந்தீர். உமது மக்களுக்கு முன்பாக பிற நாடுகளை வெளியே துரத்தி, ஆச்சரியமும் பயங்கரமுமான அதிசயங்களைச் செய்தீரே.

22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thy own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.

நீர் உமது மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலரை என்றென்றும் உமக்குச் சொந்த மக்களாக ஏற்படுத்தினீர். யெகோவாவே! நீரே அவர்களின் இறைவனானீர்.

23 Therefore now, LORD, Let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.

“இப்பொழுது யெகோவாவே, உம்முடைய அடியானையும், அவன் குடும்பத்தையும் குறித்து நீர் கொடுத்த வாக்குறுதி என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைப்பதாக. நீர் வாக்களித்தபடியே செய்யும்.

24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts [is] the God of Israel, [even] a God to Israel: and [let] the house of David thy servant [be] established before thee.

அதனால் அது உறுதிப்பட்டு, உமது பெயர் என்றென்றும் மேன்மை அடைந்திருக்கும். அப்பொழுது மனிதர்கள், ‘இஸ்ரயேலின்மேல் இறைவனாயிருக்கிற சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவே இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவன்!’ என்று சொல்வார்கள். உமக்கு முன்பாக உமது அடியவனாகிய தாவீதின் குடும்பமும் நிலைநிறுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கும்.

25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him a house: therefore thy servant hath found [in his heart] to pray before thee.

“என் இறைவனே, நீரே உமது அடியவனாகிய என்னிடம் ஒரு வீட்டைக் கட்டுவதாக வெளிப்படுத்தினீர். எனவே உமது அடியவன் உம்மிடம் விண்ணப்பம் செய்ய துணிவு கிடைத்தது.

26 And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness to thy servant:

யெகோவாவே, நீரே இறைவன். நீர் உமது அடியவனுக்கு இந்த நல்ல செயல்களை வாக்களிக்கிறீர்.

27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and [it shall be] blessed for ever.

இப்பொழுதும் உமது அடியவனின் குடும்பத்தை ஆசீர்வதிக்க நீர் விருப்பங்கொண்டீர். அதனால் உமது பார்வையில் அது தொடர்ந்து இருக்கும். யெகோவாவே இந்த வீட்டை நீர் ஆசீர்வதித்ததால், அது என்றென்றும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்” என தாவீது விண்ணப்பித்தான்.
