1 Chronicles 14
1 Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him a house.
सोर देश के राजा हीराम ने देवदार के पेड़ की लकड़ी, राजमिस्त्री और बढ़ई के साथ अपने दूत भेजे. हीराम की इच्छा थी दावीद के लिए एक घर बनवाना.
2 And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was exalted on high, because of his people Israel.
दावीद को यह साफ़ निश्चय हो गया था कि याहवेह ने उन्हें राजा के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित कर दिया है और यह भी कि याहवेह की प्रजा इस्राएल के लिए उसका राज्य बहुत ही गौरवान्वित हो गया है.
3 And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
येरूशलेम आकर बसने पर दावीद और भी उपपत्नियां और पत्नियां ले आए, और उनके और भी संतान पैदा हुईं.
4 Now these [are] the names of [his] children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
येरूशलेम में पैदा उनकी संतान के नाम ये हैं: शम्मुआ, शोबाब, नाथान, शलोमोन,
5 And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
इबहार, एलिशुआ, एलपेलेत,
6 And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
नोगाह, नेफ़ेग, याफिया,
7 And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
एलिषमा, बीएलिआदा और एलिफेलेत.
8 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard [of it], and went out against them.
जब फिलिस्तीनियों को यह मालूम हुआ कि सारे इस्राएल के लिए दावीद का राजाभिषेक किया गया है, सभी फिलिस्तीनी दावीद की खोज में निकल पड़े. दावीद को इसका समाचार मिल गया. वह उनसे युद्ध करने निकल पड़े.
9 And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
इस समय फिलिस्तीनी आकर रेफाइम घाटी में फैल गए.
10 And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said to him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thy hand.
दावीद ने परमेश्वर से पूछा, “क्या मैं फिलिस्तीनियों पर हमला करूं? क्या आप उन्हें मेरे अधीन कर देंगे?” याहवेह ने दावीद को उत्तर दिया, “हमला करो! मैं उन्हें तुम्हारे अधीन कर दूंगा.”
11 So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon my enemies by my hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
दावीद और उसके सैनिकों ने बाल-पेराज़िम नामक स्थान पर पहुंचे और वहां फिलिस्तीनियों को हरा दिया. वहां दावीद ने यह घोषित किया, “परमेश्वर मेरे शत्रुओं पर कुछ ऐसे टूट पड़े, जैसे बहुत से जल के बांध को तोड़ देते वक्त का बहाव.” इस पर उस स्थान का नाम पड़ गया, बाल-पेराज़िम.
12 And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
फिलिस्तीनी अपने देवता वहीं छोड़कर भागे थे. तब दावीद ने आदेश दिया और वे जला दिए गए.
13 And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
एक बार फिर फिलिस्तीनियों ने उस घाटी में छापा मारा.
14 Therefore David inquired again of God: and God said to him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
दावीद ने दोबारा परमेश्वर से पूछा और परमेश्वर ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “तुम उनका पीछा करते हुए हमला न करना, बल्कि घूमकर उनके पीछे जाओ और मोखा पेड़ों के सामने से उन पर हमला करो.
15 And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, then thou shalt go out to battle: for God hath gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
हमला उस समय सही होगा, जब तुम्हें मोखा के पेड़ों के ऊपर से सेना की चहल-कदमी सुनाई देने लगें. तब तुम युद्ध शुरू कर देना, क्योंकि उस समय परमेश्वर तुम्हारे आगे-आगे फिलिस्तीनी सेना को मारते हुए आगे बढ़ रहे होंगे.”
16 David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
दावीद ने वैसा ही किया, जैसा परमेश्वर ने आदेश दिया था. उन्होंने गिबयोन से लेकर गेज़ेर तक फिलिस्तीनी सेना को मार गिराया.
17 And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
सभी देशों में दावीद की कीर्ति फैलती चली गई. याहवेह ने सभी देशों पर उनका आतंक फैला दिया.
