1 Chronicles 13
1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, [and] with every leader.
David consultó con los capitanes de millares y de centenas, incluso con cada jefe.
2 And David said to all the congregation of Israel, If [it seemeth] good to you, and [that it is] of the LORD our God, let us send abroad to our brethren every where, [that are] left in all the land of Israel, and with them [also] to the priests and Levites [who are] in their cities [and] suburbs, that they may assemble to us:
David dijo a toda la asamblea de Israel: “Si les parece bien, y si es de Yahvé nuestro Dios, mandemos a decir a nuestros hermanos que han quedado en toda la tierra de Israel, con los sacerdotes y levitas que están en sus ciudades que tienen tierras de pastoreo, que se reúnan con nosotros.
3 And let us bring again to us the ark of our God: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.
Además, traigamos de nuevo el arca de nuestro Dios, pues no la buscamos en los días de Saúl.”
4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
Toda la asamblea dijo que lo harían, porque la cosa era justa a los ojos de todo el pueblo.
5 So David assembled all Israel, from Shihor of Egypt even to the entrance of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.
Entonces David reunió a todo Israel, desde el río Shihor de Egipto hasta la entrada de Hamat, para traer el arca de Dios desde Quiriat Jearim.
6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, [that is], to Kirjath-jearim, which [belonged] to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth [between] the cherubim, whose name is called [on it].
David subió con todo Israel a Baalá, es decir, a Quiriat Jearim, que pertenecía a Judá, para hacer subir desde allí el arca de Dios que está sentada encima de los querubines, que se llama por el Nombre.
7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
Llevaron el arca de Dios en un carro nuevo, y la sacaron de la casa de Abinadab; Uzza y Ahio conducían el carro.
8 And David and all Israel played before God with all [their] might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
David y todo Israel tocaron ante Dios con toda su fuerza, con cantos, con arpas, con instrumentos de cuerda, con panderetas, con címbalos y con trompetas.
9 And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
Cuando llegaron a la era de Chidón, Uza extendió su mano para sostener el arca, pues los bueyes tropezaron.
10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
La ira de Yahvé se encendió contra Uza, y lo hirió porque había puesto su mano sobre el arca; y allí murió ante Dios.
11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.
David se disgustó porque Yahvé se había ensañado con Uza. Llamó a ese lugar Fares Uzza, hasta el día de hoy.
12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God [home] to me?
Ese día David tuvo miedo de Dios, diciendo: “¿Cómo voy a llevar el arca de Dios a mi casa?”
13 So David brought not the ark to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
Así que David no trasladó el arca con él a la ciudad de David, sino que la llevó a un lado, a la casa de Obed-Edom el gitano.
14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
El arca de Dios permaneció con la familia de Obed-Edom en su casa durante tres meses; y el Señor bendijo la casa de Obed-Edom y todo lo que tenía.
