1 Chronicles 13
1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, [and] with every leader.
Und David beriet sich mit den Anführern der Tausendschaften und der Hundertschaften, mit allen Fürsten.
2 And David said to all the congregation of Israel, If [it seemeth] good to you, and [that it is] of the LORD our God, let us send abroad to our brethren every where, [that are] left in all the land of Israel, and with them [also] to the priests and Levites [who are] in their cities [and] suburbs, that they may assemble to us:
Und David sprach zur ganzen Volksgemeinde Israels: Wenn es euch recht ist und von Jahwe, unserem Gotte, beschlossen ist, so wollen wir zu unseren Volksgenossen senden, die irgendwo in den Gauen Israels zurückgeblieben sind, sowie zu den Priestern und Leviten in den Ortschaften, die ihnen samt ihren Weidetriften angewiesen sind, daß sie sich zu uns versammeln,
3 And let us bring again to us the ark of our God: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul.
damit wir die Lade unseres Gottes wieder zu uns herholen; denn unter der Regierung Sauls haben wir nicht nach ihr gefragt.
4 And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
Da antwortete die ganze Volksgemeinde, man solle demgemäß thun, denn der Vorschlag war dem ganzen Volke recht.
5 So David assembled all Israel, from Shihor of Egypt even to the entrance of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim.
Da berief David das ganze Israel zusammen vom Sihor in Ägypten an bis dahin, wo es nach Hamath hineingeht, damit sie die Lade Gottes aus Kirjath-Jearim herbeiholten.
6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, [that is], to Kirjath-jearim, which [belonged] to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth [between] the cherubim, whose name is called [on it].
Und David zog mit dem ganzen Israel nach Baala, das ist nach Kirjath-Jearim, welches zu Juda gehört, um von dort aus die Gotteslade hinaufzubringen, die nach dem Namen Jahwes benannt ist, der über den Keruben thront.
7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
Sie luden aber die Gotteslade vom Hause Abinadabs hinweg auf einen neuen Wagen, und Ussa und Ahio leiteten den Wagen.
8 And David and all Israel played before God with all [their] might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
Und David und das ganze Israel tanzten vor Gott einher mit aller Macht und unter Gesängen, mit Zithern, Harfen, Pauken, Cymbeln und Trompeten.
9 And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
Als sie nun bis zur Tenne von Kidon gekommen waren, streckte Ussa die Hand aus, um die Lade festzuhalten, weil die Rinder durchgingen.
10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
Da loderte Jahwes Zorn auf gegen Ussa und er schlug ihn dort, weil er mit der Hand nach der Lade gegriffen hatte, so daß er ebenda, angesichts Gottes, starb.
11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.
Aber David geriet in Unwillen, weil Jahwe an Ussa einen Riß gethan hatte, und man nannte jene Örtlichkeit Perez Ussa bis auf den heutigen Tag.
12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God [home] to me?
Und David geriet jenes Tags in Furcht vor Gott, so daß er rief: Wie kann ich da die Lade Gottes zu mir bringen?
13 So David brought not the ark to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
So ließ David die Lade nicht zu sich in die Stadt Davids verbringen, sondern ließ sie beiseite bringen in das Haus Obed-Edoms aus Gath.
14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed-edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that he had.
Und die Lade Gottes verblieb drei Monate bei dem Hause Obed-Edoms in seinem Hause; aber Jahwe segnete das Haus Obed-Edoms und alles, was ihm gehörte.
