Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
അപ്പോൾ നാം എന്താണ് പറയുക? ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് കൂടുതൽ കൃപ ലഭിക്കാൻവേണ്ടി നാം പാപംചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുക എന്നാണോ?
2 By no means. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer in it?
അരുത്, ഒരിക്കലുമരുത്! പാപത്തിന് നാം മരിച്ചവരായിരിക്കെ, തുടർന്ന് അതിൽ എങ്ങനെ ജീവിക്കും?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിനോട് ഏകീഭവിക്കാനായി സ്നാനം സ്വീകരിച്ചവർ എല്ലാവരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മരണവുമായുള്ള ഏകീഭാവത്തിലേക്കു സ്നാനം സ്വീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലേ?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
ഇങ്ങനെ, മരണവുമായി ഏകീഭവിക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം മുഖാന്തരം നാം അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ സംസ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. അതാകട്ടെ, ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് പിതാവിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വത്താൽ ഉയിർപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുപോലെ നാമും പുതിയ ജീവിതം നയിക്കേണ്ടതിനാണ്.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
ഇപ്രകാരം നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ മരണത്തിന്റെ സാദൃശ്യത്തോട് ഏകീഭവിച്ചവരായെങ്കിൽ നിശ്ചയമായും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ സാദൃശ്യത്തിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ഏകീഭവിച്ചിരിക്കും.
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin may be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
പാപപ്രകൃതി നിഷ്ക്രിയമാകുന്നതിനു നമ്മുടെ പഴയ വ്യക്തിത്വം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും അത് ഇനിമേൽ പാപത്തിന് അടിമകളായി ജീവിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനാണെന്നും നാം അറിയുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
കാരണം, മരണത്തോടുകൂടി നാം പാപത്തിന്റെ ശക്തിയിൽനിന്ന് സ്വതന്ത്രരായിത്തീരുന്നു.
8 Now if we are dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
നാം ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ മരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ ജീവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു നാം വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
ക്രിസ്തു മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് പുനരുത്ഥാനംചെയ്തതിനാൽ വീണ്ടും മരിക്കുകയില്ലെന്ന് നമുക്കറിയാം; മൃത്യുവിന് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെമേൽ ഇനി ഒരു ആധിപത്യവുമില്ല.
10 For in that he died, he died to sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth to God.
ക്രിസ്തു വരിച്ച മരണം പാപനിവാരണത്തിനുള്ള അദ്വിതീയമരണമായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവിടന്ന് ഇപ്പോൾ ജീവിക്കുന്നതോ ദൈവത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയാണ്.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
അതുപോലെ, നിങ്ങളും പാപം സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം മരിച്ചവരാണെന്നും ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലൂടെ ദൈവത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ജീവിക്കുന്നവരാണെന്നും സ്വയം മനസ്സിലാക്കുക.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in its lusts.
അതുകൊണ്ട്, പാപകരമായ അഭിലാഷങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നവിധത്തിൽ പാപം മർത്യശരീരത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കരുത്.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin: but yield yourselves to God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങളെ അനീതിയുടെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളായി പാപംചെയ്യാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കരുത്. മറിച്ച്, മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്ന് ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റവർ എന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ അവയവങ്ങളെയും നീതിപ്രവൃത്തിയുടെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളാക്കി, നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ദൈവത്തിനു സമർപ്പിക്കുക.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
നിങ്ങൾ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിനല്ല കൃപയ്ക്കു വിധേയരായിരിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ പാപം നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനായിരിക്കുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? By no means.
എങ്കിൽ എന്ത്? നാം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെയല്ല, കൃപയുടെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നമുക്ക് പാപംചെയ്യാം എന്നാണോ? അല്ലേയല്ല.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants in obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരണയുള്ള ദാസരായി ആർക്കെങ്കിലും സ്വയം വിധേയപ്പെടുത്തിയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ അടിമകളാകും എന്നറിയാമല്ലോ. നിങ്ങൾ ഒന്നുകിൽ പാപത്തിന്റെ അടിമകളാണ്; അതു മരണത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അനുസരണത്തിന്റെ അടിമകളാണ്, അത് നീതിയിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു.
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you.
നിങ്ങൾ പാപത്തിന്റെ അടിമകൾ ആയിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ച ഉപദേശത്തെ ഹൃദയപൂർവം അനുസരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തിനു സ്തോത്രം!
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
അങ്ങനെ പാപത്തിൽനിന്ന് സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ട് നിങ്ങൾ നീതിയുടെ അടിമകളായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity to work iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness to work holiness.
മനുഷ്യസഹജമായ ദൗർബല്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കുണ്ട്. അതിനാൽ മനുഷ്യരുടെ രീതിയിൽ ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുകയാണ്. അധർമത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നവിധത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരഭാഗങ്ങളെ അശുദ്ധിക്കും അധർമത്തിനും അടിമകളായി ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. അതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോൾ, വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരഭാഗങ്ങളെ നീതിക്ക് അടിമകളായി സമർപ്പണം ചെയ്യുക.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
കാരണം, നിങ്ങൾ പാപത്തിന്റെ അടിമകളായിരുന്നപ്പോൾ നീതിയുടെ സ്വാധീനത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നില്ല.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്തു ഫലമാണ് അന്ന് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്? ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളെ ലജ്ജിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആ കാര്യങ്ങളുടെ പരിണതഫലം മൃത്യുവാണ്.
22 But now being made free from sin, and having become servants to God, ye have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
എന്നാൽ, ഇപ്പോഴാകട്ടെ, നിങ്ങളെ പാപത്തിൽനിന്നു വിമോചിതരാക്കിയിട്ട് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസരാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വിശുദ്ധീകരണവും തൽഫലമായി നിത്യജീവനും ലഭിക്കുന്നു. (aiōnios g166)
