Psalms 86

1 A Prayer of David. Bow down thy ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.

Ein Gebet Davids. Neige, Jahwe, dein Ohr, erhöre mich, denn ich bin elend und arm!

2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.

Bewahre meine Seele, denn ich bin fromm; hilf du, mein Gott, deinem Knechte, der auf dich vertraut.

3 Be merciful to me, O Lord: for I cry to thee daily.

Sei mir gnädig, Herr, denn zu dir rufe ich allezeit.

4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for to thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

Erfreue die Seele deines Knechtes, denn zu dir, Herr, erhebe ich meine Seele.

5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and abundant in mercy to all them that call upon thee.

Denn du, Herr, bist gütig und willig, zu vergeben, und reich an Huld gegen alle, die dich anrufen.

6 Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

Vernimm, Jahwe, mein Gebet und merke auf mein lautes Flehen!

7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.

Zur Zeit meiner Not rufe ich dich an, denn du erhörst mich.

8 Among the gods there is none like thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like thy works.

Herr, dir ist keiner gleich unter den Göttern, und nichts gleicht deinen Werken.

9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.

Alle Völker, die du geschaffen hast, werden kommen und sich vor dir niederwerfen, Herr, und deinem Namen Ehre geben.

10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

Denn du bist groß und thust Wunder, du, o Gott, allein!

11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

Lehre mich, Jahwe, deinen Weg, daß ich in Treue gegen dich wandle; mein Herz freut sich daran, deinen Namen zu fürchten.

12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

Ich will dich preisen, Herr, mein Gott, von ganzem Herzen und deinen Namen immerdar ehren.

13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. (Sheol h7585)

Denn deine Gnade ist groß über mir, und du hast meine Seele aus der Unterwelt drunten errettet. (Sheol h7585)

14 O God, the proud have risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

Gott, Vermessene haben sich wider mich erhoben, und eine Rotte Gewaltthätiger trachtet mir nach dem Leben, und haben dich nicht vor Augen.

15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.

Du aber, o Herr, bist ein barmherziger und gnädiger Gott, langsam zum Zorn und reich an Huld und Treue.

16 O turn to me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.

Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig; verleihe deinem Knechte deine Stärke und hilf dem Sohne deiner Magd!

17 Show me a sign for good; that they who hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast helped me, and comforted me.

Thue an mir ein Zeichen zum Guten, daß es sehen, die mich hassen, und beschämt werden, daß du, Jahwe, mir beigestanden und mich getröstet hast.
