Psalms 76

1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

UNkulunkulu uyaziwa koJuda; ibizo lakhe likhulu koIsrayeli.

2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

Njalo idumba lakhe liseSalema, lendawo yakhe yokuhlala eZiyoni.

3 There he broke the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. (Selah)

Lapho wephula imitshoko evuthayo yedandili, isihlangu, lenkemba, lempi. (Sela)

4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

Uyakhazimula, ulobukhosi okwedlula izintaba zempango.

5 The stout hearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.

Baphangiwe abaqinileyo ngenhliziyo, balele ubuthongo babo; njalo kakho emaqhaweni othole izandla zawo.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

Ekukhalimeni kwakho, Nkulunkulu kaJakobe, kokubili inqola lebhiza kulele ubuthongo obukhulu.

7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?

Wena, wena uyesabeka. Ngubani-ke ongema phambi kwakho kusukela esikhathini solaka lwakho?

8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

Wenza isahlulelo sizwakale usemazulwini; umhlaba wesaba wathula,

9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. (Selah)

mhla uNkulunkulu evukela isahlulelo, ukusindisa bonke abathobekileyo bomhlaba. (Sela)

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

Qotho, ulaka lomuntu luzakudumisa; uzazibhinca ngensalela yolaka.

11 Vow, and pay to the LORD your God: let all that are about him bring presents to him that ought to be feared.

Fungani, likhokhe eNkosini uNkulunkulu wenu, lonke eliyihanqileyo lilethe izipho kuye ofanele esatshwe.

12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

Izaquma umoya weziphathamandla; iyesabeka emakhosini omhlaba.
