Psalms 75

1 To the chief Musician, Altaschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. To thee, O God, do we give thanks, to thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

聖歌隊の指揮者によって、「滅ぼすな」というしらべにあわせてうたわせたアサフの歌、さんび 神よ、われらはあなたに感謝します。われらは感謝します。われらはあなたのみ名を呼び、あなたのくすしきみわざを語ります。

2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

定まった時が来れば、わたしは公平をもってさばく。

3 The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved: I bear up its pillars. (Selah)

地とすべてこれに住むものがよろめくとき、わたしはその柱を堅くする。 (セラ)

4 I said to the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

わたしは、誇る者には「誇るな」と言い、悪しき者には「角をあげるな、

5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

角を高くあげるな、高慢な態度をもって語るな」と言う。

6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

上げることは東からでなく、西からでなく、また荒野からでもない。

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

それはさばきを行われる神であって、神はこれを下げ、かれを上げられる。

8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but its dregs, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

主の手には杯があって、よく混ぜた酒があわだっている。主がこれを注ぎ出されると、地のすべての悪しき者はこれを一滴も残さずに飲みつくすであろう。

9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

しかしわたしはとこしえに喜び、ヤコブの神をほめうたいます。

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

悪しき者の角はことごとく切り離されるが正しい者の角はあげられるであろう。
