Psalms 58
1 To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David. Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
সংগীত পরিচালকের জন্য। দাউদের মিকতাম। সুর “ধ্বংস কোরো না।” শাসকেরা, তোমরা কি সত্যিই ন্যায্যভাবে কথা বলো? তোমরা কি সমতার সঙ্গে লোকেদের বিচার করো?
2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
না, তোমাদের হৃদয়ে তোমরা অন্যায় পরিকল্পনা করো, আর তোমাদের হাত দিয়ে তোমরা পৃথিবীতে হিংসা ছড়াও।
3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
জন্ম থেকেই দুষ্টরা বিপথে যায়; মাতৃগর্ভ থেকেই তারা বিপথগামী ও মিথ্যাবাদী।
4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
সাপের বিষের মতোই তাদের বিষ, ওরা কালসাপের মতো, যা শুনতে চায় না,
5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
এবং সাপুড়েদের সুর উপেক্ষা করে যতই তারা দক্ষতার সঙ্গে বাজাক না কেন।
6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
হে ঈশ্বর, তাদের মুখের দাঁতগুলি ভেঙে দাও; হে সদাপ্রভু, সেই সিংহদের বিষদাঁত উপড়ে ফেলো।
7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
শুকনো জমিতে জলের মতো তারা যেন মিলিয়ে যায়; তাদের অস্ত্রশস্ত্র তাদের হাতেই ব্যর্থ করে তোলো।
8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
পথে চলার সময় তারা যেন শামুকের মতো গলে পাঁকে পরিণত হয়; মৃতাবস্থায় জাত শিশুর মতো হোক যে কখনও সূর্যের মুখ দেখেনি।
9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
ঈশ্বর, তরুণ কি প্রবীণ, সবাইকে উড়িয়ে নিয়ে যাবেন কাঁটাগাছের আগুনের আঁচ তোমাদের পাত্রের গায়ে লাগার আগেই।
10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
অন্যায়ের প্রতিকার দেখে ধার্মিকেরা উল্লসিত হবে। দুষ্টদের রক্তে তারা তাদের পা ধুয়ে নেবে।
11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
তখন সবাই বলবে, “ধার্মিকেরা নিশ্চয় পুরস্কার পায়; নিশ্চয় ঈশ্বর আছেন, যিনি জগতের বিচার করেন।”
