Psalms 52

1 To the chief Musician, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

௧இராகத் தலைவனுக்கு தாவீது அளித்த மஸ்கீல் என்னும் பாடல், “தாவீது அகிமெலேக்கின் வீட்டில் இருக்கிறான்” என்று ஏதோமியனாகிய தோவேக் சவுலிடம் போய் கூறியபோது பாடப்பட்ட பாடல். பலவானே, பொல்லாப்பில் ஏன் பெருமைபாராட்டுகிறாய்? தேவனுடைய கிருபை எந்நாளும் உள்ளது.

2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

௨நீ கேடுகளைச் செய்ய திட்டமிடுகிறாய், கபடுசெய்யும் உன்னுடைய நாவு தீட்டப்பட்ட சவரகன் கத்தியைப்போல் இருக்கிறது.

3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. (Selah)

௩நன்மையைவிட தீமையையும், யாதார்த்தம் பேசுகிறதைவிட பொய்யையும் விரும்புகிறாய். (சேலா)

4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

௪கபடமுள்ள நாவே, அழிக்கும் எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும் நீ விரும்புகிறாய்;

5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. (Selah)

௫தேவன் உன்னை என்றென்றைக்கும் இல்லாதபடி அழித்துப்போடுவார்; அவர் உன்னைப் பிடித்து, உன் குடியிருப்பிலிருந்து பிடுங்கி, நீ உயிருள்ளோர் தேசத்தில் இல்லாதபடி உன்னை அழித்துப்போடுவார். (சேலா)

6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

௬நீதிமான்கள் அதைக்கண்டு பயந்து, அவனைப் பார்த்து சிரித்து:

7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

௭இதோ, தேவனைத் தன்னுடைய பெலனாக கருதாமல், தன்னுடைய செல்வப்பெருக்கத்தை நம்பி, தன்னுடைய தீமையில் பலத்துக்கொண்ட மனிதன் இவன்தான் என்பார்கள்.

8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

௮நானோ தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தில் பச்சையான ஒலிவமரத்தைப் போலிருக்கிறேன், தேவனுடைய கிருபையை என்றென்றைக்கும் நம்பியிருக்கிறேன்.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

௯நீரே இதைச் செய்தீர் என்று உம்மை என்றென்றைக்கும் துதித்து, உமது பெயருக்குக் காத்திருப்பேன்; உம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கு முன்பாக அது நலமாக இருக்கிறது.
