Psalms 32

1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Von David. Eine Betrachtung. / Heil dem, des Missetat vergeben, des Sünde erlassen ist!

2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Heil dem Menschen, dem Jahwe die Schuld nicht anrechnet, / Und in des Geist kein Trug ist.

3 When I kept silence, my bones became old through my roaring all the day long.

Als ich schwieg, schwand mein Gebein dahin, / Weil ich unaufhörlich seufzen mußte.

4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. (Selah)

Denn deine Hand lag schwer auf mir bei Tag und Nacht, / Mein Lebenssaft vertrocknete wie in der Sommerglut. (Sela)

5 I acknowledged my sin to thee, and my iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. (Selah)

Da tat ich dir meine Sünde kund, / und meine Schuld verdeckte ich nicht. / Ich sprach: "Bekennen will ich Jahwe meine Missetat." / Da hast du meine Sündenschuld weggenommen. (Sela)

6 For this shall every one that is godly pray to thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near to him.

Drum bete jeder Fromme zu dir, solange du noch zu finden bist. / Fluten auch mächtige Wasser einher, / ihn werden sie sicher nicht treffen.

7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt surround me with songs of deliverance. (Selah)

Du bist mein Schirm, vor Drangsal bewahrest du mich, / Umringst mich mit Rettungsjubeln. (Sela)

8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with my eye.

Ich will dich belehren, dir zeigen den Weg, den du gehen mußt; / Fest will ich auf dich mein Auge richten.

9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near to thee.

Seid nicht wie das Roß, wie das unverständige Maultier! / Mit Zaum und Halfter, ihrem Geschirr, muß man sie zügeln; / Sonst nahen sie nicht zu dir.

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.

Der Gottlose hat viel Schmerzen. / Wer aber auf Jahwe traut, den umgibt er mit Gnade.

11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Freut euch in Jahwe, frohlockt, ihr Gerechten, / Und jauchzet, ihr Redlichen alle!
