Psalms 24

1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and all it containeth; the world, and they that dwell in it.

Psaume de David, pour le premier jour de la semaine. La terre est au Seigneur, et tout ce qu'elle contient, le monde et ceux qui l'habitent.

2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Il l'a fondée sur la mer, il l'a préparée sur les fleuves.

3 Who shall ascend upon the hill of the LORD? and who shall stand in his holy place?

Qui montera sur la montagne du Seigneur? qui se tiendra dans son sanctuaire?

4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Celui dont les mains sont innocentes et dont le cœur est pur; qui n'a point reçu en vain son âme; qui n'a point trompé son prochain par de faux serments.

5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Celui-là recevra la bénédiction du Seigneur, et la miséricorde de Dieu son Sauveur.

6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. (Selah)

Telle est la génération de ceux qui le cherchent, qui cherchent la face du Dieu de Jacob. Interlude.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Princes, levez vos portes; ouvrez-vous, portes éternelles, et le Roi de gloire entrera.

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Quel est donc le Roi de gloire? C'est le Seigneur fort et puissant, le Seigneur puissant au combat.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Princes, levez vos portes; ouvrez-vous, portes éternelles, et le Roi de gloire entrera.

10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. (Selah)

Quel est donc ce Roi de gloire? C'est le Dieu des vertus, c'est lui qui est le Roi de gloire.
