Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.
Louez Yah! Louez le nom de Yahvé! Louez-le, vous, serviteurs de Yahvé,
2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,
vous qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Éternel, dans les cours de la maison de notre Dieu.
3 Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises to his name; for it is pleasant.
Louez l'Éternel, car l'Éternel est bon. Chantez des louanges à son nom, car cela est agréable.
4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob to himself, and Israel for his special treasure.
Car l'Éternel a choisi Jacob pour lui-même, Israël pour sa propre possession.
5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
Car je sais que Yahvé est grand, que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.
6 Whatever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Tout ce que Yahvé a voulu, il l'a fait, dans le ciel et sur la terre, dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.
7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
Il fait monter les nuages des extrémités de la terre. Il fait des éclairs avec la pluie. Il fait sortir le vent de ses trésors.
8 Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
Il frappa les premiers-nés d'Égypte, à la fois de l'homme et de l'animal.
9 Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
Il a envoyé des signes et des prodiges au milieu de toi, en Égypte, sur Pharaon et sur tous ses serviteurs.
10 Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;
Il a frappé de nombreuses nations, et tué des rois puissants.
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
Sihon, roi des Amorites, Og, roi de Bashan, et tous les royaumes de Canaan...
12 And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage to Israel his people.
et ont donné leur terre en héritage, un héritage pour Israël, son peuple.
13 Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
Ton nom, Yahvé, subsiste à jamais; ta renommée, Yahvé, à travers toutes les générations.
14 For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent concerning his servants.
Car Yahvé jugera son peuple et avoir de la compassion pour ses serviteurs.
15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
Les idoles des nations sont l'argent et l'or, le travail de la main de l'homme.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
Ils ont une bouche, mais ils ne peuvent pas parler. Ils ont des yeux, mais ils ne voient pas.
17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
Ils ont des oreilles, mais ils n'entendent pas, il n'y a pas non plus de souffle dans leurs bouches.
18 They that make them are like them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
Ceux qui les font seront comme eux, oui, tous ceux qui ont confiance en eux.
19 Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
Maison d'Israël, louez Yahvé! Maison d'Aaron, louez Yahvé!
20 Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.
Maison de Lévi, louez Yahvé! Vous qui craignez Yahvé, louez Yahvé!
21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
Béni soit Yahvé de Sion, qui habite à Jérusalem. Louez Yah!
