Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
௧என் மகனே, நீ என்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளைக்காத்து, என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளை உன்னிடத்தில் பத்திரப்படுத்து.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thy eye.
௨என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளையும் என்னுடைய போதகத்தையும் உன்னுடைய கண்மணியைப்போல் காத்துக்கொள், அப்பொழுது பிழைப்பாய்.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thy heart.
௩அவைகளை உன்னுடைய விரல்களில் கட்டி, அவைகளை உன்னுடைய இருதயப்பலகையில் எழுதிக்கொள்.
4 Say to wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
௪ஆசைவார்த்தைகளைப் பேசும் அந்நியப் பெண்ணாகிய ஒழுங்கீனமானவளுக்கு உன்னை விலக்கிக் காப்பதற்காக,
5 That they may keep thee from the adulteress, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
௫ஞானத்தை நோக்கி, நீ என்னுடைய சகோதரி என்றும், புத்தியைப்பார்த்து, நீ என்னுடைய இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவள் என்றும் சொல்லு.
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
௬நான் என்னுடைய வீட்டின் ஜன்னல் அருகே நின்று, அதின் வழியாகப் பார்த்தபோது,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
௭பேதையர்களாகிய வாலிபர்களுக்குள்ளே ஒரு புத்தியற்ற வாலிபனைக்கண்டு அவனை கவனித்தேன்.
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
௮அவன் மாலைமயங்கும் சூரியன் மறையும் நேரத்திலும், இரவின் இருளிலும்.
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
௯அவள் இருக்கும் தெருவிற்கு அடுத்த தெருவில் சென்று, அவளுடைய வீட்டுவழியாக நடந்துபோனான்.
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
௧0அப்பொழுது இதோ, விபசாரியின் ஆடை ஆபரணம் தரித்த தந்திரமனமுள்ள ஒரு பெண் அவனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டாள்.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
௧௧அவள் வாயாடியும் அடங்காதவளுமானவள்; அவளுடைய கால்கள் வீட்டிலே தங்குகிறதில்லை.
12 Now is she outside, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
௧௨சிலவேளை வெளியிலே இருப்பாள், சிலவேளை வீதியில் இருப்பாள், சந்துகள்தோறும் மறைந்திருப்பாள்.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
௧௩அவள் அவனைப் பிடித்து முத்தமிட்டு, முகம் நாணாமல் அவனைப் பார்த்து:
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows.
௧௪சமாதான பலிகள் என்மேல் சுமந்திருந்தது, இன்றைக்குத்தான் என்னுடைய பொருத்தனைகளை நிறைவேற்றினேன்.
15 Therefore I came forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
௧௫ஆதலால், நான் உன்னைச் சந்திக்கப் புறப்பட்டு, உன் முகத்தை ஆவலோடு தேடினேன்; இப்பொழுது உன்னைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
௧௬என்னுடைய மெத்தையை இரத்தினக் கம்பளங்களாலும், எகிப்து தேசத்தின் விசித்திரமான மெல்லிய துணிகளாலும் அலங்கரித்தேன்.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
௧௭என்னுடைய படுக்கையை வெள்ளைப்போளத்தாலும் சந்தனத்தாலும் இலவங்கப்பட்டையாலும் வாசனையாக்கினேன்.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
௧௮வா, விடியற்காலைவரைக்கும் சந்தோஷமாக இருப்போம், இன்பங்களினால் பூரிப்போம்.
19 For my husband is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
௧௯கணவன் வீட்டிலே இல்லை, தூரப்பயணம் போனான்.
20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
௨0பணப்பையைத் தன்னுடைய கையிலே கொண்டுபோனான், குறிக்கப்பட்ட நாளிலே வீட்டுக்கு வருவான் என்று சொல்லி,
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she seduced him.
௨௧தன்னுடைய மிகுதியான இனிய சொற்களால் அவனை வசப்படுத்தி, தன்னுடைய உதடுகளின் இனிமையான பேச்சால் அவனை இணங்கச்செய்தாள்.
22 He goeth after her quickly, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
௨௨உடனே அவன் அவள் பின்னே சென்றான்; ஒரு மாடு அடிக்கப்படும்படி செல்வதுபோலவும், ஒரு மூடன் விலங்கிடப்பட்டு தண்டனைக்குப் போவதுபோலவும்,
23 Till an arrow striketh through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
௨௩ஒரு குருவி தன்னுடைய உயிரை வாங்கும் கண்ணியை அறியாமல் அதில் விழுவதற்கு விரைந்து போகிறதுபோலவும், அவளுக்குப் பின்னே போனான்; அம்பு அவனுடைய இருதயத்தைப் பிளந்தது.
24 Now therefore hearken to me, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
௨௪ஆதலால் பிள்ளைகளே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்; என்னுடைய வாயின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கவனியுங்கள்.
25 Let not thy heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
௨௫உன்னுடைய இருதயம் அவளுடைய வழியிலே சாயவேண்டாம்; அவளுடைய பாதையிலே மயங்கித் திரியாதே.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
௨௬அவள் அநேகரைக் காயப்படுத்தி, விழச்செய்தாள்; பலவான்கள் அநேகரைக் கொலைசெய்தாள்.
