Nehemiah 1
1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,
ಹಕಲ್ಯನ ಮಗ ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನ ಮಾತುಗಳು: ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದ, ಕಿಸ್ಲೇವ್ ಎಂಬ ಮಾರ್ಗಶಿರ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಶೂಷನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆನು.
2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, who were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದ ಹನಾನೀಯನು ಹಾಗೂ ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಜನರು ಯೆಹೂದದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಸೆರೆ ಹೋದವರಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದೆನು.
3 And they said to me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.
ಅವರು ನನಗೆ, “ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಈಗ ಆ ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರು ಮಹಾ ಕಷ್ಟ ನಿಂದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಪೌಳಿಗೋಡೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
ನಾನು ಈ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಅತ್ತೆನು. ಹಲವಾರು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಶೋಕಿಸಿದೆ, ಉಪವಾಸವಿದ್ದೆ, ಪರಲೋಕ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೆ.
5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ: “ಪರಲೋಕ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀವು ಮಹೋನ್ನತರೂ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿರುವವರೊಂದಿಗೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವವರೇ, ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾದ ದೇವರೇ,
6 Let thy ear now be attentive, and thy eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
ಕೃಪೆಮಾಡಿ ನನಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ, ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯನ್ನು ಆಲಿಸಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಈಗ ಹಗಲಿರುಳೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನೂ, ನನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಜರೂ ಆ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರು.
7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou didst command thy servant Moses.
ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದೆವು. ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಾಸನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿನ್ಯಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou didst command thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
“ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ, ‘ನೀವು ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು.
9 But if ye turn to me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you driven to the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ, ಅವುಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ಆಕಾಶದ ಅಂತ್ಯದವರೆಗೂ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನಿಡಲು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
“ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭುಜಪರಾಕ್ರಮಗಳಿಂದ ನೀವು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸಿದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕರೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜನರೂ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thy ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.
ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹರ್ಷಿಸುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಿರಿ. ಇಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನನಗೆ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಈ ಅರಸನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪಾನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು.
