< Matthew 13 >
1 The same day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
To na niah Jesu loe im hoiah caeh moe, tuipui taengah anghnut.
2 And great multitudes were gathered together to him, so that he went into a boat, and sat down; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
To naah paroeai kaminawk anih khaeah amkhueng o pongah, anih loe palong thungah caeh moe, anghnut; kaminawk loe tui taengah angdoet o.
3 And he spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Anih mah to kaminawk khaeah patahhaih hoiah pop parai lok to a thuih pae, Khenah, aanmu haeh kami maeto loe aanmu haeh hanah caeh;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them:
aanmu a haeh naah, thoemto aanmunawk loe loklam ah krak, tavaanawk angzoh o moe, aanmu to akhuih o boih:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and immediately they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
thoemto aanmunawk loe long tampa tlungcaret nuiah krak: long tampa pongah amprawk o phrat:
6 And when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
toe ni tacawt naah loe ni kabae mah aankungnawk to dawk; tangzun om ai pongah, azaem o roep.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
Thoemto aanmu loe soekhringnawk thungah krak; soekhringnawk loe qoeng o tahang moe, aankungnawk to tahlip hmoek:
8 But others fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
thoemto aanmunawk loe long kahoih thungah krak moe, athaih athaih o, thoemto loe alet cumvai, quitaruk hoi quithumto ah athaih o.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Naa tawn kami loe, thaih na soe, tiah a naa.
10 And the disciples came, and said to him, Why speakest thou to them in parables?
A hnukbang kaminawk anih khaeah angzoh o moe, Tipongah rangpui kaminawk khaeah patahhaih hoiah lok na thuih loe? tiah a dueng o.
11 He answered and said to them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Siangpahrang mah uk ih van prae loktamqu to panoek thaihaih to nangcae khaeah paek boeh, toe nihcae khaeah loe paek ai.
12 For whoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Mi kawbaktih doeh katawn kami loe thap pae aep ueloe, pop parai ah tawn tih: toe mi kawbaktih doeh katawn ai kami loe a tawnh ih hmuen to doeh la pae kik tih.
13 Therefore I speak to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
To pongah ni nihcae khaeah loe patahhaih lok hoiah ka thuih pae: nihcae loe khet o, toe hnu o ai; tahngaih o, toe thaih o ai; thaih kophaih tawn o ai.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Tahmaa Isaiah mah, Na tahngai o tih, toe na thaih o kop mak ai; na khen o tih, toe na panoek o thai mak ai:
15 For this people’s heart has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
hae kaminawk loe palung maeng o, naa hoiah thaih o thai ai, mik pasim o ving; to tih ai nahaeloe nihcae mah mik hoiah hnu o tih; naa hoiah thaih o ueloe, palung hoiah panoek o tih; hnukbang ah angqoi o ueloe, nihcae to ngan ka tuisak moeng tih, tiah thuih ih lok loe nihcae ah akoep boeh:
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
toe kahnu thaih mik hoi thaikophaih naa loe, tahamhoih.
17 For verily I say to you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see the things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear the things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Loktang kang thuih o, paroeai tahmaanawk hoi katoeng kaminawk mah na hnuk o ih hmuennawk hae hnuk han a koeh o, toe hnu o thai ai; na thaih o ih hmuennawk doeh thaih han a koeh o, toe thaih o thai ai.
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
To pongah aanmu haeh kami patahhaih lok to tahngai oh:
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the way side.
kami maeto loe Sithaw prae lok to thaih naah, thai kop ai, to pacoengah taqawk angzoh moe, anih palung thungah haeh ih lok to lak pae ving. Hae loe loklam ah kakrah aanmu hoiah anghmong.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and immediately with joy receiveth it;
Tlungcaret thungah kakrah aanmu loe lok to thaih naah, oephaih hoiah talawk roep kami hoiah anghmong;
21 Yet he hath not root in himself, but endureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, immediately he is offended.
toe anih loe tangzun om ai pongah, nawnetta thungah ni oh: Sithaw lok pongah raihaih hoi pacaekthlaekhaih oh naah, anih loe amtim roep.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. (aiōn )
Soekhring thungah kakrah aanmu loe lok to thaih, toe anih loe long hae palung pongah, alinghaih hoi angraenghaih mah lok to khuk khoep, to pongah athaih athai ai kami hoiah anghmong. (aiōn )
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; who also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Long kahoih thungah kakrah aanmu loe, lok to thaih naah, panoek thaihaih to a tawnh; anih loe athaih to athaih moe, thoemto loe alet cumvaito, thoemto loe quitarukto, thoemto loe quithumto ah angpung, tiah a naa.
24 Another parable he put forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field:
Anih mah kalah patahhaih lok nihcae khaeah thuih pae let: Siangpahrang mah uk ih van prae loe angmah ih lawk thungah canti haeh kami maeto hoiah anghmong:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
toe kaminawk iih o naah, a misa to angzoh, cangti thungah phroh mu to haeh moe, a caehtaak ving.
26 But when the blade had sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Cang loe amprawk moe, aquih to tacawt, to naah phroh doeh amprawk tahang toeng.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? how then hath it tares?
To pongah lawk tawnkung ih tamnanawk to anih khaeah angzoh o moe, Angraeng, kahoih cangti na ai maw lawk thungah na haeh? Naa hoiah maw prohnawk hae amprawk loe? tiah a naa o.
28 He said to them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said to him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
To naah anih mah nihcae khaeah, Misa mah ni hae tiah sak, tiah a naa. Tamnanawk mah anih khaeah, to tih nahaeloe ka caeh o moe, ka phong o han maw? tiah naa o.
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Toe anih mah, To tiah na ai ni; phroh to na phongh o nahaeloe, cang doeh na phongh o hmaek tih.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Cang aat ai karoek to nawnto amprawk hoi rae nasoe: cang aahhaih atue phak naah cangaat kaminawk khaeah, hmai hoi qoeng hanah phrohnawk to akhui oh loe, taoeng o hmaloe ah: toe cang loe kai mah ih tapup thungah thaeng oh, tiah ka naa han, tiah a thuih pae.
31 Another parable he put forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Siangpahrang mah uk ih van prae loe kami maeto mah lak moe, angmah ih lawk ah haeh ih antam mu maeto hoiah anghmong, tiah kalah patahhaih lok a thuih pae let bae:
32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge on its branches.
to antam mu loe aanmunawk boih thungah kathoeng koek ah oh: toe amprawt naah loe phronawk boih pong kalen koek ah oh, thingkung ah angcoeng pongah, van ih tavaanawk to angzoh o moe, tahangnawk pongah acuk o, tiah a naa.
33 Another parable he spoke to them; The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Siangpahrang mah uk ih van prae loe nongpata maeto mah taeh to lak moe, tui noekhaih boengloeng thumto kaom takaw thungah taeh to a phuih naah, taeh mah anguengsak ih takaw hoiah anghmong, tiah kalah patahhaih lok to a thuih pae let.
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable he spoke not to them:
Hae hmuennawk loe Jesu mah pop parai kaminawk khaeah thuih ih patahhaih lok ah oh; patahhaih lok patoh ai ah loe nihcae khaeah tidoeh thui pae ai:
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
to pongah tahmaa mah, Patahhaih hoiah lok ka thuih moe, long oh tangsuek na hoi tamquta ah suek ih hmuennawk to ka thuih han, tiah thuih ih lok akoep han ih ni to tiah oh.
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came to him, saying, Make known to us the meaning of the parable of the tares of the field.
To pacoengah Jesu mah kaminawk to tacawtsak moe, im thungah a caeh: to naah a hnukbang kaminawk anih khaeah angzoh o moe, Lawk thung ih phroh patahhaih lok to kamtuengah na thui ah, tiah a naa o.
37 He answered and said to them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Kahoih cangti haeh kami loe, kami Capa ni;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
lawk loe long hae ni; kahoih cangti loe Siangpahrang ukhaih prae thungah kaom caanawk thuih koehhaih ih ni; toe phrohnawk loe kasae kaminawk ih caa thuih koehhaih ah oh;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. (aiōn )
phroh haeh kami ih misa loe taqawk ni; cang aahhaih loe long boenghaih ah oh, cangaat kaminawk loe van kaminawk ni. (aiōn )
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. (aiōn )
Phrohnawk to lak o moe, hmai thungah vah o baktih toengah, hae long tue boeng naah om tih. (aiōn )
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them who do iniquity;
Kami Capa mah angmah ih van kaminawk to patoeh tih, zaehaih sah kami hoi kahoih ai hmuen sah kaminawk boih to angmah ih prae thung hoiah nihcae mah nawnto pakhueng o ueloe,
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
paroeai kabae hmai kamngaeh thungah va o tih: to ah qahhaih hoi hakaekhaih to om tih.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
To pacoengah katoeng kaminawk loe angmacae Ampa mah uk ih prae ah ni baktiah aang o tih. Thaihaih naa tawn kami loe, thaih nasoe, tiah a naa.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hid in a field; which when a man hath found, he hideth, and from joy over it goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
Van prae loe lawk thungah hawk ih hmuen hoiah anghmong; to hmuen to kami maeto mah hnuk naah, a hawk hmoek, anghoehaih hoiah a caeh moe, a tawnh ih hmuennawk to zawh boih pacoengah, to lawk hmuen to a qanh.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man, seeking fine pearls:
To pacoengah, van prae loe kahoih pale thlung pakrong hmuenmae zaw kami hoiah anghmong:
46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
anih mah atho kaom pale thlung to hnuk naah caeh moe, a tawnh ih hmuennawk to zawh boih pacoengah, to thlung to a qanh.
47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
To pacoengah, van prae loe tanga congca kaman, tuipui thungah haeng ih palok hoiah anghmong:
48 Which, when it was full, they drew to the shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast away the bad.
palok to tanga hoi koi mong naah, nihcae mah tuicing bangah zaeh o, anghnut o moe, kahoih tanga to daengkraem thungah pacaeng o, kahoih ai tanga loe a vah o ving.
49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous, (aiōn )
Long boeng naah loe to tiah om tih: van kaminawk to angzo o ueloe, katoeng kaminawk thung hoiah kazae kaminawk to pathlaeng o tih, (aiōn )
50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
nihcae to paroeai kabae hmai kamngaeh thungah va o tih: to ah loe qahhaih hoi hakaekhaih to om tih, tiah a naa.
51 Jesus saith to them, Have ye understood all these things? They say to him, Yea, Lord.
Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Hae hmuennawk hae na thaih o kop boih maw? tiah a naa. Nihcae mah, Ue, Angraeng, tiah a naa o.
52 Then said he to them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a man that is an householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
Anih mah nihcae khaeah, To pongah siangpahrang mah uk ih van prae kawng patuk ca tarik kaminawk boih loe, a tawnh ih hmuen kangtha hoi kangquem tasa bangah kasin, im tawn kami maeto hoiah anghmong, tiah a naa.
53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there.
Jesu mah hae patahhaih lok thuih pacoengah, to ahmuen to a caehtaak.
54 And when he had come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, How hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
Angmah ih vangpui ah a caeh moe, sineko ah kaminawk to patuk, to naah nihcae mah dawnrai o moe, Hae kami loe naa hoi ih maw hae baktih palunghahaih hoi dawnrai toksakthaihaihnawk hae a tawnh? tiah thuih o.
55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Anih loe thing aat kami ih capa na ai maw? Anih ih amno loe Meri na ai maw? Anih ih nawkamyanawk loe Jakob, Jose, Simon hoi Judah na ai maw?
56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? How then hath this man all these things?
Anih ih tanuhnawk doeh aicae hoi nawnto oh o na ai maw? Hae kami loe naa hoi ih maw hae baktih hmuennawk hae a tawnh? tiah a thuih o.
57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honour, except in his own country, and in his own house.
Kaminawk loe anih nuiah palung hoih o ai. Toe Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Tahmaa loe angmah im hoi angmah ih vangpui tasa bangah ni, pakoehhaih hoiah oh, tiah a naa.
58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Nihcae loe tanghaih tawn o ai pongah, to ahmuen ah dawnrai hmuen to sah pae mangh ai.
