Mark 7
1 Then came together to him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, who came from Jerusalem.
Καὶ συνάγονται πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ Φαρισαῖοι καί τινες τῶν γραμματέων ἐλθόντες ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashed, hands, they found fault.
καὶ ἰδόντες τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ (ὅτι *no*) κοιναῖς χερσίν, τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν ἀνίπτοις, (ἐσθίουσιν *N(k)O*) (τοὺς *no*) ἄρτους (ἐμέμψαντο· *K*)
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands often, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
οἱ γὰρ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ πάντες οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἐὰν μὴ πυγμῇ νίψωνται τὰς χεῖρας, οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν κρατοῦντες τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων·
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there are, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, and of brasen vessels, and tables.
καὶ ἀπ᾽ ἀγορᾶς (δὲ *o*) (ὅταν ἔλθωσιν *ko*) ἐὰν μὴ (βαπτίσωνται, *NK(o)*) οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν· καὶ ἄλλα πολλά ἐστιν ἃ παρέλαβον κρατεῖν, βαπτισμοὺς ποτηρίων καὶ ξεστῶν καὶ χαλκίων καὶ κλινῶν.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?
(Καὶ *N(k)O*) ἐπερωτῶσιν αὐτὸν οἱ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς· διὰ τί οὐ περιπατοῦσιν οἱ μαθηταί σου κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, ἀλλὰ (κοιναῖς *N(K)O*) χερσὶν ἐσθίουσιν τὸν ἄρτον;
6 He answered and said to them, Well hath Isaiah prophesied concerning you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Ὁ δὲ (ἀποκριθεὶς *k*) εἶπεν αὐτοῖς (ὅτι· *ko*) καλῶς ἐπροφήτευσεν Ἠσαΐας περὶ ὑμῶν τῶν ὑποκριτῶν, ὡς γέγραπται (ὅτι *no*) οὗτος ὁ λαὸς τοῖς χείλεσίν με τιμᾷ, ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόρρω ἀπέχει ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ.
7 But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
μάτην δὲ σέβονταί με διδάσκοντες διδασκαλίας, ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Ἀφέντες (γὰρ *k*) τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ κρατεῖτε τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν ἀνθρώπων (βαπτισμοὺς ξεστῶν καὶ ποτηρίων καὶ ἄλλα παρόμοια τοιαῦτα πολλὰ ποιεῖτε. *KO*)
9 And he said to them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
καὶ ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· καλῶς ἀθετεῖτε τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ ἵνα τὴν παράδοσιν ὑμῶν (στήσητε. *N(k)O*)
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoever curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
Μωϋσῆς γὰρ εἶπεν· τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα σου, καὶ ὁ κακολογῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα θανάτῳ τελευτάτω.
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
ὑμεῖς δὲ λέγετε· ἐὰν εἴπῃ ἄνθρωπος τῷ πατρὶ ἢ τῇ μητρί· κορβᾶν, ὅ ἐστιν δῶρον, ὃ ἐὰν ἐξ ἐμοῦ ὠφεληθῇς,
12 And ye permit him no more to do any thing for his father or his mother;
(καὶ *ko*) οὐκέτι οὐκέτι ἀφίετε αὐτὸν οὐδὲν ποιῆσαι τῷ πατρὶ (αὐτοῦ *k*) ἢ τῇ μητρί (αὐτοῦ, *k*)
13 Making the word of God of no effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.
ἀκυροῦντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ παραδόσει ὑμῶν ᾗ παρεδώκατε· καὶ παρόμοια τοιαῦτα πολλὰ ποιεῖτε.
14 And when he had called all the people to him, he said to them, Hearken to me each one of you, and understand:
Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος (πάλιν *N(K)O*) τὸν ὄχλον ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· (ἀκούσατέ *N(k)O*) μου πάντες καὶ (σύνετε. *N(k)O*)
15 There is nothing from outside of a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
οὐδέν ἐστιν ἔξωθεν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς αὐτὸν ὃ δύναται κοινῶσαι αὐτόν, ἀλλὰ τὰ (ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου *NO*) ἐκπορευόμενά (ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ *k*) (ἐκεῖνά *ko*) ἐστιν τὰ κοινοῦντα τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
16 If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear.
(Εἴ τις ἔχει ὦτα ἀκούειν ἀκουέτω. *KO*)
17 And when he had entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
καὶ ὅτε εἰσῆλθεν εἰς οἶκον ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου, ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ (περὶ *k*) (τὴν παραβολήν. *N(k)O*)
18 And he saith to them, Are ye so void of understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatever thing from outside entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀσύνετοί ἐστε; οὐ νοεῖτε ὅτι πᾶν τὸ ἔξωθεν εἰσπορευόμενον εἰς τὸν ἄνθρωπον οὐ δύναται αὐτὸν κοινῶσαι;
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the stomach, and goeth out into the draught, purging all foods?
ὅτι οὐκ εἰσπορεύεται αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν ἀλλ᾽ εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν καὶ εἰς τὸν ἀφεδρῶνα ἐκπορεύεται (καθαρίζων *N(k)O*) πάντα τὰ βρώματα.
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
ἔλεγεν δὲ ὅτι τὸ ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκπορευόμενον, ἐκεῖνο κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
ἔσωθεν γὰρ ἐκ τῆς καρδίας τῶν ἀνθρώπων οἱ διαλογισμοὶ οἱ κακοὶ ἐκπορεύονται πορνεῖαι, κλοπαί, φόνοι,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
μοιχεῖαι, πλεονεξίαι, πονηρίαι, δόλος, ἀσέλγεια, ὀφθαλμὸς πονηρός, βλασφημία, ὑπερηφανία, ἀφροσύνη·
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
πάντα ταῦτα τὰ πονηρὰ ἔσωθεν ἐκπορεύεται καὶ κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον.
24 And from there he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
(Καὶ *ko*) Ἐκεῖθεν (δὲ *no*) ἀναστὰς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὰ (ὅρια *N(K)O*) Τύρου (καὶ Σιδῶνος. *KO*) καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς (τὴν *k*) οἰκίαν οὐδένα ἤθελεν γνῶναι καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθη λαθεῖν.
25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
(ἀλλ᾽ εὐθὺς *NO*) ἀκούσασα (γὰρ *k*) γυνὴ περὶ αὐτοῦ ἧς εἶχεν τὸ θυγάτριον αὐτῆς πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον, ἐλθοῦσα προσέπεσεν πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ·
26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter.
ἡ δὲ γυνὴ ἦν Ἑλληνὶς Συροφοινίκισσα τῷ γένει, καὶ ἠρώτα αὐτὸν ἵνα τὸ δαιμόνιον (ἐκβάλῃ *N(k)O*) ἐκ τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς.
27 But Jesus said to her, Let the children first be satisfied: for it is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to the dogs.
(ὁ *k*) (καὶ *N(k)O*) (Ἰησοῦς *k*) (ἔλεγεν *N(k)O*) αὐτῇ· ἄφες πρῶτον χορτασθῆναι τὰ τέκνα· οὐ γάρ ἐστιν καλὸν λαβεῖν τὸν ἄρτον τῶν τέκνων καὶ τοῖς κυναρίοις βαλεῖν.
28 And she answered and said to him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.
ἡ δὲ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· (ναὶ *KO*) κύριε, καὶ (γὰρ *k*) τὰ κυνάρια ὑποκάτω τῆς τραπέζης (ἐσθίουσιν *N(k)O*) ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν παιδίων.
29 And he said to her, For this saying go thy way; the demon is gone out of thy daughter.
Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· διὰ τοῦτον τὸν λόγον ὕπαγε, ἐξελήλυθεν ἐκ τῆς θυγατρός σου τὸ δαιμόνιον.
30 And when she had come to her house, she found the demon had gone out, and her daughter lying upon the bed.
καὶ ἀπελθοῦσα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτῆς εὗρεν τὸ (παιδίον *N(K)O*) (βεβλημένον *N(k)O*) ἐπὶ (τὴν κλίνην *N(k)O*) καὶ τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐξεληλυθός.
31 And again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, he came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.
Καὶ πάλιν ἐξελθὼν ἐκ τῶν ὁρίων Τύρου ἦλθεν (διὰ *N(K)O*) Σιδῶνος (εἰς *N(k)O*) τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ὁρίων Δεκαπόλεως.
32 And they bring to him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
καὶ φέρουσιν αὐτῷ κωφὸν (καὶ *no*) μογιλάλον καὶ παρακαλοῦσιν αὐτὸν ἵνα ἐπιθῇ αὐτῷ τὴν χεῖρα.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
καὶ ἀπολαβόμενος αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου κατ᾽ ἰδίαν ἔβαλεν τοὺς δακτύλους αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰ ὦτα αὐτοῦ, καὶ πτύσας ἥψατο τῆς γλώσσης αὐτοῦ,
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
καὶ ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἐστέναξεν καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· εφφαθα, ὅ ἐστιν διανοίχθητι.
35 And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plain.
καὶ (εὐθέως *NK*) (ἠνοίγησαν *N(k)O*) αὐτοῦ αἱ ἀκοαί, καὶ ἐλύθη ὁ δεσμὸς τῆς γλώσσης αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐλάλει ὀρθῶς.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they proclaimed it;
καὶ διεστείλατο αὐτοῖς ἵνα μηδενὶ (λέγωσιν· *N(k)O*) ὅσον δὲ (αὐτὸς *k*) αὐτοῖς διεστέλλετο, (αὐτοὶ *no*) μᾶλλον περισσότερον ἐκήρυσσον.
37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
καὶ ὑπερπερισσῶς ὑπερπερισσῶς ἐξεπλήσσοντο λέγοντες· καλῶς πάντα πεποίηκεν καὶ τοὺς κωφοὺς ποιεῖ ἀκούειν καὶ (τοὺς *NK*) ἀλάλους λαλεῖν.
