< John 8 >

1 Jesus went to the mount of Olives.
Ma Jisọs rigooro nʼUgwu Oliv.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him; and he sat down, and taught them.
Nʼisi ụtụtụ echi ya, ọ bịara ọzọ nʼụlọnsọ ukwuu ebe ọtụtụ mmadụ bịakwutere ya. Ọ nọdụrụ ala malite ikuziri ha ihe.
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought to him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
Ndị ozizi iwu na ndị Farisii dọkpụtara otu nwanyị ha jidere nʼịkwa iko. Ha mere ka o guzo nʼihu igwe mmadụ ahụ niile.
4 They say to him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
Nʼiwu, Mosis nyere anyị ikike ka e jiri okwute tugbuo onye mere ihe dị otu a. Gịnị ka i nwere ikwu banyere nke a?”
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
Ma Jisọs hulatara ala were mkpịsịaka ya dee ihe nʼala.
7 So when they continued asking him, he raised himself, and said to them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
Ọzọ, o hulatakwara ala malite ide ihe ọ na-ede nʼala.
9 And they who heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even to the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
Mgbe ha nụrụ nke a, ha niile nʼotu nʼotu, malite nʼonye okenye ha, sitere nʼebe ahụ pụọ. Nʼikpeazụ, ọ fọdụrụ naanị Jisọs na nwanyị ahụ, ebe o guzoro nʼihu ya.
10 When Jesus had raised himself, and saw none but the woman, he said to her, Woman, where are those thy accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
12 Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Ọzọ, Jisọs gwara ha sị, “Abụ m ihe nke ụwa. Onye ọbụla na-eso m agaghị ejegharị nʼọchịchịrị, kama ọ ga-enwe ìhè nke ndụ.”
13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou barest witness concerning thyself; thy witness is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Though I witness concerning myself, yet my witness is true: for I know from where I came, and where I go; but ye cannot tell from where I come, and where I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
Unu na-ekpe ikpe dị ka mmadụ; ma ekpeghị m onye ọbụla ikpe.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
Ma ọ bụrụ na m ekpe ikpe, ikpe m bụ eziokwu nʼihi na ọ bụghị naanị m nọ, kama ọ bụ mụ na Nna m, onye zitere m.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
E dere nʼiwu unu sị, ‘ama mmadụ abụọ gbara bụ eziokwu.’
18 I am one that bear witness concerning myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness concerning me.
Ana m agba ama banyere onwe m. Nna m, onye zitere m, na-agbakwa ama banyere m.”
19 Then said they to him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
Mgbe ahụ ha jụrụ ya, “Olee ebe Nna gị nọ?” Jisọs zara, “Unu amaghị m, unu amakwaghị Nna m. Ọ bụrụ na unu matara m unu ga-amatakwa onye Nna m bụ.”
20 These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
Okwu ndị a niile ka o kwuru nʼụlọnsọ ukwu ha, mgbe ọ na-akụzi ihe na mpaghara ụlọ ahụ ebe a na-adọba onyinye.
21 Then said Jesus again to them, I am going away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: where I go, ye cannot come.
Ọzọ ọ gwara ha, “Aga m ahapụ unu, unu ga-achọ m, ma unu ga-anwụ nʼime mmehie unu. Ma unu apụghị ịbịa nʼebe m na-aga.”
22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Where I go, ye cannot come.
Nke a mere ka ndị Juu na-asị, “Ọ ga-egbu onwe ya? Ọ bụ ya mere o ji sị, ‘Ebe m na-aga unu apụghị ị bịa’?”
23 And he said to them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
Ma ọ sịrị ha, “Unu si nʼala ma esi m nʼelu bịa. Unu bụkwa ndị ụwa, ma abụkwaghị m nke ụwa a.
24 I said therefore to you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
A sịrị m unu na unu ga-anwụ nʼime mmehie unu, naanị na unu kwenyere na mụ onwe m, bụ onye ahụ.”
25 Then said they to him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith to them, Even the same that I said to you from the beginning.
Ha jụrụ ya, “Onye ka ị bụ?” Jisọs zara sị ha, “Abụ m onye ahụ m gwara unu na m bụ na mbụ.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard from him.
E nwere m ọtụtụ ihe m ga-ekwu nʼikpe unu ikpe. Nʼihi nke a, ihe niile m nụrụ site nʼọnụ ya ka m gwara ụwa.”
27 They understood not that he spoke to them concerning the Father.
28 Then said Jesus to them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
Ya mere Jisọs sịrị, “Mgbe unu weliri Nwa nke Mmadụ elu, mgbe ahụ ka unu ga-ama na mụ onwe m bụ ya. Unu ga-amatakwa na ọ dịghị ihe m na-eme nʼonwe m, kama, dị ka Nna m ziri m ka m na-ekwu ihe ndị a.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
Onye ahụ nke zitere m na-anọnyekwara m. Ọ hapụghịkwa m mgbe ọbụla, nʼihi na ọ bụ ihe na-amasị ya ka m na-eme mgbe niile.”
30 As he spoke these words, many believed on him.
Mgbe ọ na-ekwu ihe ndị a, ọtụtụ kwenyere na ya.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed;
Jisọs gwara ndị Juu ndị kwere na ya, “Ọ bụrụ na unu anọgide nʼokwu m nʼezie unu ga-abụ ndị na-eso ụzọ m.
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Unu ga-amatakwa eziokwu ahụ, eziokwu ahụ ga-emekwa ka unu nwere onwe unu.”
33 They answered him, We are Abraham’s offspring, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Olee otu i si na-asị na a ga-eme ka anyị nwere onwe anyị?”
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Whoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Jisọs zara ha, “Nʼezie, nʼezie asị m unu, onye ọbụla na-eme mmehie bụ ohu mmehie.
35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth for ever. (aiōn g165)
Ohu enwekwaghị ọnọdụ mgbe ọbụla nʼezinaụlọ, ma ọkpara nwere ọnọdụ ruo ebighị ebi. (aiōn g165)
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Ya mere, ọ bụrụ na Ọkpara ahụ emee ka unu nwere onwe unu nʼezie, unu ga-abụ ndị nwere onwe unu.
37 I know that ye are Abraham’s offspring; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
Ama m na unu bụ ụmụ ụmụ Ebraham, ma unu na-achọ igbu m nʼihi na okwu m enweghị ọnọdụ nʼime unu.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
Ana m ekwu ihe m hụrụ nʼebe Nna m nọ, ma unu na-eme ihe unu nụrụ site nʼaka nna unu.”
39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith to them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Ha zara ya, “Ebraham bụ nna anyị.” Jisọs sịrị ha, “Ọ bụrụ na unu bụ ụmụ Ebraham, unu gara na-arụ ọrụ Ebraham rụrụ.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham.
Ma unu na-achọ igbu m, bụ onye gwara unu eziokwu ahụ m nụrụ nʼebe Chineke nọ. Ebraham emeghị otu a.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Jisọs gwara ha, “Ọ bụrụ nʼezie na Chineke bụ Nna unu, unu ga-ahụ m nʼanya, nʼihi na ọ bụ Chineke zitere m. Abịaghị m site nʼike aka m.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
Gịnị mere unu adịghị aghọta ihe m na-ekwu? Ọ bụ na unu enweghị ike ịnabata okwu m.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
46 Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I speak the truth, why do ye not believe me?
O nwere onye nʼime unu pụrụ ịtụ m mmehie m nʼihu? Ọ bụrụ na m na-ekwu eziokwu, gịnị mere unu ekwenyeghị na m?
47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
Onye ọbụla sitere na Chineke na-anụ ihe Chineke na-ekwu. Ihe kpatara unu adịghị anụ bụ maka unu abụghị ndị nke Chineke.”
48 Then answered the Jews, and said to him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?
Ndị Juu zara sị, “Anyị e kwughị eziokwu mgbe anyị sịrị na ị bụ onye Sameria, na mmụọ ọjọọ bikwa nʼime gị?”
49 Jesus answered, I have not a demon; but I honour my Father, and ye dishonour me.
Jisọs zaghachiri, “Mmụọ ọjọọ ọbụla adịghị nʼime m, kama ana m asọpụrụ Nna m, ma unu adịghị asọpụrụ m.
50 And I seek not my own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
Anaghị m achọ otuto nke onwe m, kama ọ dị onye nke na-achọ ya. Ọ bụkwa ya bụ onye ikpe.
51 Verily, verily, I say to you, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
Nʼezie, nʼezie, agwa unu, onye ọbụla na-edebe okwu m agaghị anwụ ọzọ.” (aiōn g165)
52 Then said the Jews to him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
Ị dị ukwuu karịa nna anyị Ebraham? Ọ nwụrụ, ma ndị amụma nwụkwara. Onye ka ị na-eche na ị bụ?”
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Jisọs zara, “Ọ bụrụ na m etoo onwe m, otuto m bụ ihe efu, Nna m, onye unu na-asị na ọ bụ Chineke unu, bụ onye na-eto m.
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews to him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Jisọs sịrị ha, “Nʼezie, nʼezie agwa m unu, tupu amụọ Ebraham, mụ onwe m nọ ya.”
59 Then they took up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
