John 16
1 These things have I spoken to you, that ye should not be offended.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎢᏨᏃᎮᎮᎸ, ᏗᏦᏕᏍᏗᏱ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ.
2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
ᏗᎦᎳᏫᎢᏍᏗᏱ ᏓᏰᏥᏄᎪᏫᏏ; ᎥᎥ, ᏛᏍᏆᎸᎯ, ᎩᎶ ᎢᏥᎯᎮᏍᏗ, ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᏂᏥᏯᏛᏁᎭ, ᎡᎵᏍᎨᏍᏗ.
3 And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᎾᎾᏛᏁᎮᏍᏗ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎾᏂᎦᏔᎲᎾ ᎨᏒ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏴ ᏂᎬᎩᎦᏔᎲᎾ ᎨᏒᎢ.
4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not to you at the beginning, because I was with you.
ᎠᏎᏃ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎢᏨᏃᎲᏏ, ᎠᏍᏆᎸᎲ ᎢᏣᏅᏓᏗᏍᏗᏱ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏨᏃᏁᎸᎢ. ᎠᎴ ᎥᏝ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᎬᏱᏱᏉ ᏱᏨᏃᏁᎴᎢ, ᎢᏧᎳᎭ ᎢᏕᏙᎲ ᏅᏓᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᏍᎬᎩ.
5 But now I go to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Where goest thou?
ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᏅᏛᎩᏅᏏᏛ ᏧᏬᎸ ᏫᏥᎦᏘ, ᎥᏝᏃ ᎩᎶ ᏂᎯ ᏂᏣᏛᏅ ᏳᏓᏑᏯ ᏯᏆᏛᏛᎲᏍᎦ, ᎯᎠ ᏱᏂᎦᏪ; ᎭᏢ ᏫᎦᏘ?
6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
ᎠᏎᏃ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎸ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ, ᎤᏲ ᎠᏓᏅᏓᏗᏍᏗ ᎨᏒ ᎤᎧᎵᎸ ᎢᏥᎾᏫ.
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you.
ᎠᏎᏃ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯᏯ ᎢᏨᏃᏁᎭ; ᎣᏏᏳ ᎢᏣᎵᏍᏓᏁᏗ ᏨᏓᎨᏏ; ᎢᏳᏰᏃ ᎾᏇᏅᏒᎾ ᏱᎩ, ᎠᏓᏅᏬᎯᏍᏗᏍᎩ ᎥᏝ ᏴᎨᏥᎷᏥᏏ; ᏯᏇᏅᏍᎩᏂ ᏅᏓᏥᏅᏍᏗ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ ᎢᏥᎷᏤᏗᏱ.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
ᎾᏍᎩᏃ ᎦᎷᏨᎭ ᎬᏂᎨᏒ ᏅᏓᎬᏁᎵ ᎡᎶᎯ ᎠᏍᎦᏂ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏗᎫᎪᏙᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ.
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
ᎠᏍᎦᏂ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᏂᎬᏉᎯᏳᎲᏍᎬᎾ ᎨᏒ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎡᏙᏙᏱ ᏫᏥᎦᏛᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎿᎭᏉ ᏂᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎬᎾ ᎨᏒ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
ᏗᎫᎪᏙᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎯᎠ ᎡᎶᎯ ᎤᏤᎵᎦ ᏣᎫᎪᏓᏁᏗ ᎨᏒ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ.
12 I have yet many things to say to you, but ye cannot bear them now.
ᎠᏏ ᎤᏣᏔ ᎠᎩᎷᎳ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎢᏨᏃᏁᏗ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎪᎯ ᎨᏒ ᎥᏝ ᏰᎵ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎨᏣᏛᎪᏗ ᏱᎩ;
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
ᎦᎷᏨᎭᏍᎩᏂ ᎾᏍᎩ Ꮎ ᎦᏰᎪᎩ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ ᎠᏓᏅᏙ, ᏂᎦᎥ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯ ᎨᏒ ᏙᏓᏣᏘᏂᏙᎵ, ᎥᏝᏰᏃ ᎤᏩᏒᏉ ᎤᏓᏅᏖᏛ ᏱᎧᏁᎨᏍᏗ, ᏂᎦᎥᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏛᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎧᏁᎨᏍᏗ; ᎠᎴ ᏓᏥᎾᏄᎪᏫᏎᎵ ᏧᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎣᏂ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏔᏂᏓᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it to you.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᏛᎩᎸᏉᏔᏂ ᎠᏴ, ᎠᏆᏤᎵᏰᏃ ᎨᏒ ᏛᎩᏏ ᎠᎴ ᏓᏥᎾᏄᎪᏫᏎᎵ.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore I said, that he shall take of mine, and show it to you.
ᏂᎦᎥ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨ ᎤᎲ ᎠᏆᏤᎵᎦ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᎯᎠ ᏥᏂᏥᏫ, ᎠᏆᏤᎵᎦ ᎨᏒ ᏛᎩᏏ ᎠᎴ ᏓᏥᎾᏄᎪᏫᏎᎵ.
16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎨᏍᏗ; ᎠᎴ ᎿᎭᏉ ᏔᎵᏁ ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᎢᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎨᏍᏗ; ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᏍᏛᏱ ᏫᏥᎦᏛᎢ.
17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith to us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎢᎦᏛ ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏗᏙᎯ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᎾᏓᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᎦᏙ ᎦᏛᎦ ᎯᎠ ᏥᏂᎩᏪᏎᎭ; ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᎠᎴ ᎿᎭᏉ ᏔᎵᏁ ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᎢᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎨᏍᏗ? ᎠᎴ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᏍᏛᏱ ᏫᏥᎦᏛᎢ?
18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏂᏪᏒᎩ, ᎦᏙ ᎦᏛᎦ ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᏣᏗᎭ? ᎥᏝ ᏲᏦᎵᎦ ᏄᏍᏛ ᎦᏛᎬᎢ.
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said to them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that which I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?
ᏥᏌᏃ ᎠᎦᏔᎲᎩ ᎤᎾᏚᎵᏍᎬ ᎬᏩᏛᏛᏗᏱ, ᎯᎠᏃ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᏥᎪᏕᏣᏓᏛᏛᎲᏍᎦ ᎦᏛᎬᎢ ᎯᎠ ᏥᎾᎩᏪᏒᎩ; ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᎠᎴ ᎿᎭᏉ ᏔᎵᏁ ᏂᎪᎯᎸᎾᏉ ᎢᏍᎩᎪᏩᏘᏍᎨᏍᏗ?
20 Verily, verily, I say to you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯᏯ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯᏯ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎭ; ᏂᎯ ᏕᏥᏴᎨᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎢᏥᏍᎪᏂᎮᏍᏗ, ᎡᎶᎯᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᎵᎮᎵᎨᏍᏗ; ᏂᎯᏃ ᎤᏲ ᎢᏣᏓᏅᏖᏍᏗ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎤᏲ ᎢᏣᏓᏅᏛ ᎤᎵᎮᎵᏍᏗ ᏮᏛᏓᏁᏟᏴᏍᏔᏂ.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
ᎠᎨᏴ ᎤᏲ ᎤᏓᏅᏙ ᏣᏕᎲᏍᎪ ᎠᏲᎵ, ᎤᏍᏆᎸᎡᎸ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᏍᎪᎢ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎦᎾᏄᎪᏩ ᎠᏲᎵ, ᎥᏝ ᎿᎭᏉ ᏯᏅᏓᏗᏍᎪ ᎡᎯᏍᏗ ᎤᏓᏅᏓᏛᎢ, ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᏍᎪ ᎠᎵᎮᎵᎬ ᏴᏫ ᎤᎾᏄᎪᏫᏒ ᏒᎶᎯ.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᏂᎯ ᎪᎯ ᎨᏒ ᎤᏲ ᎢᏣᏓᏅᏔ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᏔᎵᏁ ᏛᏨᎪᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎢᏥᎾᏫ ᏛᎵᎮᎵᏥ, ᎢᏣᎵᎮᎵᎬᏃ ᎥᏝ ᎩᎶ ᏴᎨᏥᎩᏏ.
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say to you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
ᎾᎯᏳᏃ ᎢᎦ ᎥᏝ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᏱᏍᎩᏯᏛᏛᎲᏍᎨᏍᏗ. ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯᏯ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯᏯ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎭ; ᏂᎦᎥ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨ ᎡᏥᏔᏲᏎᎮᏍᏗ, ᏓᏆᏙᎥ ᎢᏨᏗᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᎠᏎ ᎡᏥᏁᏗ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ.
24 Until now ye have asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
ᎪᎯ ᎢᏯᏍᏗ ᎥᏝ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᏱᏥᏔᏲᏍᏔᏃ ᎠᏴ ᏓᏉᏙᎥᎢ. ᎢᏥᏔᏲᎭ ᏓᏰᏥᏁᎵᏃ, ᎢᏣᎵᎮᎵᎬ ᎤᎧᎵᎢᏍᏗᏱ.
25 These things have I spoken to you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak to you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly concerning the Father.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎢᏨᏃᎮᎮᎸ ᎤᏦᏍᏗ ᎪᎵᏍᏗᏱ ᎠᏋᏔᏅ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᏛᏍᏆᎸᎯ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏨᏯᎵᏃᎮᏗᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎤᏦᏍᏗ ᎪᎵᏍᏗᏱ ᎬᏗ, ᎬᏂᎨᏒᎢᏳᏍᎩᏂ ᏓᏨᎾᏄᎪᏫᏎᎵ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᎢ.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not to you, that I will pray the Father for you:
ᎾᎯᏳ ᎢᎦ ᏓᏆᏙᎥ ᎢᏥᏔᏲᏍᏗᏍᎨᏍᏗ; ᎥᏝᏃ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨ ᏓᏥᏯᏓᏙᎵᏍᏓᏁᎵ ᏂᎯ ᎢᏥᏍᏕᎸᏗᏱ ᏱᏨᏲᏎᎭ;
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.
ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᏰᏃ ᎤᏩᏒ ᎢᏥᎨᏳᎭ, ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ ᏍᎩᎨᏳᎢᏳ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎢᏦᎯᏳᏅ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯᏱ ᏅᏛᏆᏓᎴᏅᎯ ᎨᏒᎢ.
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᏍᏛᏱ ᏗᏆᏓᎴᏅ, ᎡᎶᎯ ᎠᎩᎷᏥᎸ; ᏔᎵᏁ ᎡᎶᎯ ᏛᎦᏓᏅᏏ, ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᏍᏛᏱ ᏮᏛᏥᎶᏏ.
29 His disciples said to him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏗᏙᎯ ᎯᎠ ᏅᎬᏩᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎬᏂᎨᏒᎢᏳ ᎯᏁᎦ, ᎥᏝᏃ ᎤᏦᏍᏗ ᎪᎵᏍᏗᏱ ᏱᏁᎦ.
30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest from God.
ᎿᎭᏉ ᎣᏥᎦᏔᎭ ᏂᎦᎥ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᎯᎦᏔᎯᏳ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏎᏉᏉ ᎨᏒ ᎩᎶ ᏱᏨᏛᏛᎲᏍᎦ. ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ ᎣᏦᎯᏳᎲᏍᎦ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯᏱ ᏅᏓᏣᏓᎴᏅᎯ ᎨᏒᎢ.
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
ᏥᏌ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎸᎩ; ᏥᎪ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎢᏦᎯᏳᎲᏍᎦ?
32 Behold, the hour cometh, and, is even now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᏛᏍᏆᎸᎯ, ᎥᎥ, ᎿᎭᏉᎤᏍᏆᎸᎲ, ᎢᏣᏗᎦᎴᏲᎢᏍᏗᏱ, ᏂᏥᎥ ᎢᏥᏏᏴᏫᎭ ᏙᏗᏤᏅᏒ ᎢᏗᏢ, ᎠᎴ ᏓᏍᎩᏴᏕᏥ ᎠᏋᏒᏉ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ; ᎥᏝᏍᎩᏂᏃᏅ ᎠᏋᎡ ᏱᎩ, ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᏰᏃ ᏔᎵ ᏅᏛᏗᏕᎦ.
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎯᎠ ᎢᏨᏃᎮᎮᎸ ᎠᏴ ᏅᏩᏙᎯᏯᏛ ᎢᏨᏯᏓᏅᏓᏗᏍᏙᏗᏱ. ᎡᎶᎯ ᎤᏕᏯᏙᏗ ᏓᏥᏩᏛᎯ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᎤᎦᎵᏍᏗᏉ ᎢᏣᏓᏅᏖᏍᏗ; ᎠᏴ ᏥᏎᎪᎩᏒ ᎡᎶᎯ.
