Jeremiah 49
1 Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
Contra os filhos de Ammon. Assim diz o Senhor: Acaso não tem filhos Israel, nem tem herdeiro? porque pois herdou Malcam a Gad e o seu povo habitou nas suas cidades?
2 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir to them that were his heirs, saith the LORD.
Portanto, eis que veem dias, diz o Senhor, em que farei ouvir em Rabba dos filhos de Ammon o alarido de guerra, e tornar-se-ha n'um montão de assolação, e os logares da sua jurisdicção serão queimados a fogo; e Israel herdará aos que o herdaram, diz o Senhor
3 Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird yourselves with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.
Uiva, ó Hesbon, porque já é destruida Ai; clamae, ó filhas de Rabba, cingi-vos de saccos, lamentae, e rodeae pelos vallados; porque Malcam irá em captiveiro, os seus sacerdotes e os seus principes juntamente.
4 Why gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come to me?
Porque te glorias dos valles, já se escorreu o teu valle, ó filha rebelde que confias nos teus thesouros, dizendo: Quem virá contra mim?
5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts, from all those that are about thee; and ye shall be driven out every man right forth; and none shall gather up him that wandereth.
Eis que eu trarei temor sobre ti, diz o Senhor Jehovah dos Exercitos, de todos os que estão ao redor de ti; e sereis lançados fóra cada um diante de si, e ninguem recolherá o desgarrado.
6 And afterward I will bring again the captives of the children of Ammon, saith the LORD.
Mas depois d'isto farei voltar os captivos dos filhos de Ammon, diz o Senhor.
7 Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? hath counsel perished from the prudent? hath their wisdom vanished?
Contra Edom. Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Acaso já não ha mais sabedoria em Teman? já pereceu o conselho dos entendidos? corrompeu-se a sua sabedoria?
8 Flee ye, turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will punish him.
Fugi, virae-vos, buscae profundezas para habitar, ó moradores de Dedan, porque eu trouxe sobre elle a ruina de Esaú, no tempo em que o visitei.
9 If grapegatherers come to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, they will destroy till they have enough.
Se vindimadores viessem a ti, não deixariam rabiscos? se ladrões de noite viessem, não te damnificariam quanto lhes é sufficiente?
10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is laid waste, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
Mas eu despi a Esaú, descobri os seus esconderijos, e não se poderá esconder: é destruida a sua semente, como tambem seus irmãos e seus visinhos, e já elle não é
11 Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
Deixa os teus orphãos: eu os guardarei em vida; e as tuas viuvas confiar-se-hão em mim.
12 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunk; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.
Porque assim diz o Senhor: Eis que os que não estavam condemnados a beberem o copo totalmente o beberão; e tu mesmo totalmente serias absolto? não serás absolto, mas totalmente o beberás.
13 For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all its cities shall be perpetual wastes.
Porque por mim mesmo jurei, diz o Senhor, que Bozra servirá de espanto, de opprobrio, de assolação, e de execração; e todas as suas cidades se tornarão em assolações perpetuas.
14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent to the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
Ouvi um rumor vindo do Senhor, que um embaixador é enviado ás nações, para lhes dizer: Ajuntae-vos, e vinde contra ella, e levantae-vos para a guerra.
15 For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen, and despised among men.
Porque eis que te fiz pequeno entre as nações, desprezado entre os homens.
16 Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thy heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from there, saith the LORD.
A tua terribilidade te enganou, e a arrogancia do teu coração, tu que habitas nas cavernas das rochas, que occupas as alturas dos outeiros; ainda que alces o teu ninho como a aguia, de lá te derribarei, diz o Senhor.
17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all its plagues.
Assim servirá Edom de espanto: todo aquelle que passar por ella se espantará, e assobiará por causa de todas as suas pragas.
18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbour cities, saith the LORD, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of man dwell in it.
Será como a destruição de Sodoma e Gomorrah, e dos seus visinhos, diz o Senhor: não habitará ninguem ali, nem morará n'ella filho de homem
19 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
Eis que elle como leão subirá da enchente do Jordão contra a morada do forte; porque n'um momento o farei correr d'ali; e quem é o escolhido que porei sobre ella? porque quem é similhante a mim? e quem me emprazaria? e quem é o pastor que subsistiria perante mim?
20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
Portanto ouvi o conselho do Senhor, que decretou contra Edom, e os seus designios que intentou entre os moradores de Teman: certamente os mais pequenos do rebanho os arrastarão: certamente assolará as suas moradas sobre elles.
21 The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise of it was heard in the Red sea.
A terra estremeceu do estrondo da sua queda: tocante ao grito, até ao Mar Vermelho se ouviu o sonido.
22 Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
Eis que elle como aguia subirá, e voará, e estenderá as suas azas sobre Bozra: e será o coração dos valentes de Edom n'aquelle dia como o coração da mulher que está com dôres de parto.
23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.
Contra Damasco. Envergonhou-se Hamath e Arpad, porquanto ouviram más novas, se desmaiaram: no mar ha angustia, não se pode socegar.
24 Damascus hath become feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
Enfraquecida está Damasco; virou as costas para fugir, e tremor a tomou: angustia e dôres a tomaram como da que está de parto.
25 How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!
Como não é deixada a afamada cidade? a cidade de meu folguedo?
26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
Portanto cairão os seus mancebos nas suas ruas; e todos os homens de guerra serão consumidos n'aquelle dia, diz o Senhor dos Exercitos.
27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall consume the palaces of Benhadad.
E accenderei fogo ao muro de Damasco, e consumirá os palacios de Benhadad.
28 Concerning Kedar, and concerning the kingdoms of Hazor, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon shall smite, thus saith the LORD; Arise ye, go up to Kedar, and lay waste the men of the east.
Contra Kedar, e contra os reinos de Hazor, que Nabucodonozor, rei de Babylonia, feriu. Assim diz o Senhor: Levantae-vos, subi contra Kedar, e destrui os filhos do oriente.
29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: they shall take to themselves their curtains, and all their vessels, and their camels; and they shall cry to them, Fear is on every side.
Tomarão as suas tendas, e os seus gados, as suas cortinas e todos os seus vasos, e os seus camelos levarão para si; e lhes clamarão: Ha medo de todos os lados.
30 Flee, go far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
Fugi, desviae-vos para mui longe, buscae profundezas para habitar, ó moradores de Azor, diz o Senhor: porque Nabucodonozor, rei de Babylonia, tomou conselho contra vós, e intentou um designio contra vós.
31 Arise, go up to the wealthy nation, that dwelleth without care, saith the LORD, which have neither gates nor bars, which dwell alone.
Levantae-vos, subi contra uma nação em repouso, que habita confiadamente, diz o Senhor, que não tem portas, nem ferrolho; habitam sós.
32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter into all winds them that are in the utmost corners; and I will bring their calamity from all sides of it, saith the LORD.
E os seus camelos serão para preza, e a multidão dos seus gados para despojo: e os espalharei a todo o vento, áquelles que moram nos ultimos cantos da terra, e de todos os seus lados lhes trarei a sua ruina, diz o Senhor.
33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and a desolation for ever: there shall no man abide there, nor any son of man dwell in it.
E Hazor se tornará em morada de dragões, em assolação para sempre: ninguem habitará ali, nem morará n'ella filho de homem
34 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,
A palavra do Senhor, que veiu a Jeremias, o propheta, contra Elam, no principio do reinado de Zedekias, rei de Judah, dizendo:
35 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.
Assim diz o Senhor dos Exercitos: Eis que eu quebrarei o arco de Elam, o principal do seu poder.
36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation where the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
E trarei sobre Elam os quatro ventos dos quatro cantos dos céus, e os espalharei por todos estes ventos; e não haverá nação aonde não venham os fugitivos de Elam.
37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
E atemorizarei a Elam diante de seus inimigos e diante dos que procuram a sua morte; e farei vir sobre elles o mal, o furor da minha ira, diz o Senhor; e enviarei após elles a espada; até que venha a consumil-os.
38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from there the king and the princes, saith the LORD.
E porei o meu throno em Elam: e destruirei d'ali o rei e os principes, diz o Senhor.
39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captives of Elam, saith the LORD.
Será, porém, no ultimo dos dias que farei voltar os captivos de Elam, diz o Senhor.
