Jeremiah 31
1 At the same time, saith the LORD, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.
১“সেই দিন” এটি সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা “আমি ইস্রায়েলের সব গোষ্ঠীরই ঈশ্বর হব এবং তারা আমার প্রজা হবে।”
2 Thus saith the LORD, The people who were left by the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
২সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “লোকেরা, যারা তরোয়ালের থেকে বেঁচে গেছে, তারা মরুপ্রান্তে অনুগ্রহ পেল, ইস্রায়েলকে বিশ্রাম দিতে গেলাম।”
3 The LORD appeared of old to me, saying, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
৩সদাপ্রভু অতীতে আমার কাছে আবির্ভূত হয়ে বললেন, “ইস্রায়েল, আমি তোমাকে অনন্তকালীন ভালোবাসায় ভালোবেসেছি। তাই আমি তোমাকে বিশ্বস্ত চুক্তি দিয়ে আমার কাছে টেনেছি।
4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.
৪কুমারী ইস্রায়েল, আমি তোমাকে আবার গড়ে তুলব, তাতে তুমি গড়ে উঠবে। তুমি আবার তোমার খঞ্জনি নেবে এবং আনন্দের সঙ্গে নাচতে যাবে।
5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.
৫শমরিয়ার পর্বতের উপরে তুমি আবার আঙ্গুর ক্ষেত রোপণ করবে; চাষীরা চাষ করবে এবং তার ফল ভালো কাজে লাগবে।
6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion to the LORD our God.
৬কারণ একটি দিন আসবে, যখন ইফ্রয়িমের পর্বতের উপরে পাহারাদারেরা ঘোষণা করবে, ‘ওঠ, আমরা সিয়োনে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের ঈশ্বরের কাছে যাই’।”
7 For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: proclaim ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.
৭কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তোমরা যাকোবের আনন্দের জন্য চিত্কার কর! জাতির প্রধান লোকেদের জন্য উল্লাসধ্বনি কর! প্রশংসা শোনা যাক, বল, ‘সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলের অবশিষ্ট থাকা লোকেদের, তাঁর প্রজাদের উদ্ধার করেছেন’।
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the ends of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return there.
৮দেখ, আমি উত্তরের দেশ থেকে তাদের নিয়ে আসব। পৃথিবীর শেষ সীমানা থেকে তাদের জড়ো করব। তাদের মধ্যে থাকবে অন্ধ, খোঁড়া, গর্ভবতী এবং প্রসূতি মহিলা এখানে অনেক অনেক মানুষ ফিরে আসবে।
9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, in which they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
৯তারা কাঁদতে কাঁদতে আসবে; তাদের আবেদন মত আমি তাদের পরিচালনা করব। আমি তাদের জলের স্রোতের কাছের সরল পথ দিয়ে চালাবো। সেখানে তারা হোঁচট খাবে না, কারণ আমি ইস্রায়েলের পিতা হবো এবং ইফ্রয়িম আমার প্রথম সন্তান।”
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
১০জাতিসমূহ, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শোন। দূরের উপকূলে তা বর্ণনা কর। জাতি, তোমরা বল, “যিনি ইস্রায়েলকে ছড়িয়েছেন, তিনিই তাদের জড়ো করবেন এবং মেষপালকের মত করে তাঁর মেষ রক্ষা করবেন।”
11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
১১কারণ সদাপ্রভু যাকোবকে মুক্ত করেছেন এবং তার থেকে শক্তিশালীদের হাত থেকে তাদের ছাড়িয়ে এনেছেন।
12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for grain, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
১২তখন তারা আসবে এবং সিয়োনের উঁচু জায়গায় আনন্দ করবে। তারা সদাপ্রভুর মঙ্গলদানে, দানাশষ্যে, নতুন আঙ্গুর রস, তেল, ভেড়া ও গরুর পালের বাচ্চা পেয়ে আনন্দ করবে। কারণ তাদের প্রাণ হবে জলপূর্ণ বাগানের মত এবং তারা আর কখনও দুঃখ অনুভব করবে না।
13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
১৩তখন কুমারীরা নাচবে এবং যুবক ও বয়ষ্ক লোকেরাও সাথে থাকবে। “আমি তাদের বিলাপ উল্লাসে বদলে দেব; আমি তাদের দয়া করব এবং তাদের দুঃখের পরিবর্তে আনন্দিত করব।
14 And I will abundantly satisfy the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
১৪তখন আমি যাজকদের প্রাচুর্য্য দিয়ে পরিপূর্ণ করব। আমার প্রজারা আমার মঙ্গল দিয়ে পূর্ণ হবে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.
১৫সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “রামায় একটি আওয়াজ শোনা যাচ্ছে, হাহাকার ও তিক্ত কান্না। রাহেল তার সন্তানদের জন্য কাঁদছে। সে তাদের ছেড়ে আরাম করতে অস্বীকার করে, কারণ তারা আর বেঁচে নেই।”
16 Thus saith the LORD; Restrain thy voice from weeping, and thy eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
১৬সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “তোমার কান্নাকাটি থামাও ও চোখের জল ধরে রাখো; কারণ তোমার কষ্টের পুরষ্কার পাবে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “তোমার সন্তানেরা শত্রুদের দেশ থেকে ফিরে আসবে।
17 And there is hope in thy end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
১৭তোমার ভবিষ্যতের জন্য আশা আছে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “তোমার বংশধরেরা তাদের দেশে ফিরে আসবে।
18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God.
১৮আমি অবশ্যই ইফ্রয়িমের দুঃখের কথা শুনেছি, ‘তুমি আমাকে শাস্তি দিয়েছ এবং আমি শাস্তি পেয়েছি। অবাধ্য বাছুরের মত আমাকে ফিরিয়ে আনো এবং আমি ফিরে আসব, কারণ তুমি সদাপ্রভু, আমার ঈশ্বর।
19 Surely after I was turned, I repented; and after I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, and even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.
১৯কারণ আমি তোমার কাছে ফিরলাম, আমি দুঃখিত হলাম, আমি বাধ্য হবার পর দুঃখে আমার বুকে চাপড় মারলাম। আমি লজ্জিত ও অপমানিত হলাম, কারণ আমার যুবক বয়সের অপরাধ বহন করেছি’।
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spoke against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart is troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the LORD.
২০ইফ্রয়িম কি আমার মূল্যবান সন্তান নয়? সে কি আমার প্রিয়, আহ্লাদের সন্তান নয়? কারণ যখনই আমি তার বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলি, আমি অবশ্যই তাকে ভালবেসে মনে করি। এই ভাবে আমার অন্তর ব্যাকুল হয়। আমি অবশ্যই তার উপর দয়া করব।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thy heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
২১জায়গায় জায়গায় তোমার জন্য পথের চিহ্ন রাখো। তোমার জন্য পথনির্দেশের স্তম্ভ স্থাপন কর। তোমার মনকে সঠিক পথে ধরে রাখো, যে পথে তুমি গিয়েছিলে। কুমারী ইস্রায়েল, ফিরে এস! তোমার এইসব শহরে ফিরে এস।
22 How long wilt thou wander about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall encompass a man.
২২বিপথগামী মেয়ে, আর কতকাল তুমি ঘুরে বেড়াবে? কারণ সদাপ্রভু পৃথিবীতে একটি নতুন কিছু সৃষ্টি করেছেন: স্ত্রীলোকেরা শক্তিশালী পুরুষদের রক্ষা করার জন্য তাদের চারপাশে ঘুরবে।
23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I shall bring again their captives; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, mountain of holiness.
২৩বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, “আমি যখন লোকেদের নিজেদের দেশে ফিরিয়ে আনব, তারা যিহূদা দেশ ও তার শহরগুলিতে এই কথা বলবে, ‘তোমার ন্যায়পরায়ন স্থান, যেখানে তিনি বাস করেন; পবিত্র পাহাড় তোমাকে সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করুন’।
24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all its cities together, farmers, and they that go forth with flocks.
২৪কারণ যিহূদা ও তার সমস্ত শহর একসঙ্গে বাস করবে। চাষীরা ও মেষপালকেরা তাদের পশুপালের সঙ্গে সেখানে থাকবে।
25 For I have abundantly satisfied the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
২৫কারণ আমি ক্লান্তদের পান করার জল দেবো এবং আমি প্রত্যেক তৃষ্ণার্ত লোককে তার কষ্ট থেকে তৃপ্ত করব।”
26 Upon this I awoke, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet to me.
২৬তারপর আমি জেগে উঠলাম এবং আমি বুঝলাম আমার ঘুম সুখদায়ক ছিল।
27 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.
২৭সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “দেখ, দিন আসছে, যখন আমি ইস্রায়েল ও যিহূদা দেশে লোকেদের ও পশুদের বীজের মত বপন করব।
28 And it shall come to pass, that as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
২৮তখন এটা ঘটবে, আমি যেমন তাদের উপড়ে, ভেঙে ও ছুঁড়ে ফেলা, ধ্বংস ও বিপদ আনার দিকে খেয়াল রেখেছিলাম; তেমনি করে তাদের গড়ে তোলার ও রোপণ করার দিকেও খেয়াল রাখব।” এটা সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
২৯“সেই দিনের লোকেরা আর কেউ বলবে না, ‘বাবারা টক আঙ্গুর খেয়েছেন, কিন্তু সন্তানদের দাঁত টকে গেছে’।
30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
৩০কারণ প্রত্যেকে নিজের পাপের জন্যই মরবে; যে টক আঙ্গুর খাবে তারই দাঁত টকে যাবে।
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
৩১দেখ, সেই দিন আসছে” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “যখন আমি ইস্রায়েল ও যিহূদার লোকেদের সঙ্গে একটি নতুন চুক্তি স্থাপন করব।
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was an husband to them, saith the LORD:
৩২মিশর দেশ থেকে তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের হাত ধরে বের করে আনবার দিন তাদের জন্য যে চুক্তি স্থাপন করেছিলাম, এটি সেই চুক্তির মত হবে না। সেই দিনের আমি যদিও তাদের স্বামীর মত ছিলাম, তবুও তারা আমার চুক্তি অগ্রাহ্য করেছিল” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
৩৩“কিন্তু সেই দিনের র পর এই চুক্তি আমি ইস্রায়েলীয়দের জন্য স্থাপন করব তা হল” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা: “আমি তাদের মধ্যে আমার ব্যবস্থা রাখব এবং এগুলি তাদের অন্তরে লিখে রাখব, কারণ আমি তাদের ঈশ্বর হবো এবং তারা আমার প্রজা হবে।
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
৩৪তখন কোনো ব্যক্তি তার প্রতিবেশীকে এবং তার ভাইকে শিক্ষা দিয়ে বলবে না, ‘সদাপ্রভুকে জানো!’ কারণ তারা প্রত্যেকে, একদম ছোট থেকে মহান সবাই আমাকে জানবে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। “কারণ আমি তাদের অন্যায় ক্ষমা করব, তাদের পাপ আর কখনও মনে রাখব না।”
35 Thus saith the LORD, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divideth the sea when its waves roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
৩৫সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন সদাপ্রভু, যিনি দিনের র জন্য সূর্যকে তৈরী করেন আর রাতের জন্য চাঁদ ও তারাকে আলো দেবার জন্য হুকুম দেন। তিনিই একমাত্র, যিনি সমুদ্রকে তোলপাড় করেন যাতে তার ঢেউগুলি গর্জন করে। বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু তাঁর নাম। তিনি এই কথা বলেন,
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
৩৬“যদি এই স্থায়ী জিনিসগুলি আমার সামনে থেকে অদৃশ্য হয়” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন “তবে ইস্রায়েলীয়রাও জাতি হিসাবে আমার সামনে থেকে শেষ হয়ে যাবে।”
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
৩৭সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “যদি উপরের মহাকাশকে মাপা যায় এবং যদি নীচে পৃথিবীর উত্স খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়, তবুও ইস্রায়েলের বংশধরদের তাদের সমস্ত কাজের জন্য আমি অগ্রাহ্য করব।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
38 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel to the gate of the corner.
৩৮“দেখ, সেই দিন আসছে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “যখন আমার জন্য হননেল দুর্গ থেকে কোণার ফটক পর্যন্ত এই শহরটি আবার গড়ে তোলা হবে।
39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth straight forward over the hill Gareb, and shall turn toward Goath.
৩৯তখন মাপার দড়ি সেখান থেকে সোজা গারেব পাহাড় পর্যন্ত টানা হবে এবং তারপর ঘুরে গোয়াতে যাবে।
40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook of Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
৪০মৃতদেহ ও ছাই ফেলার উপত্যকা এবং কিদ্রোণ উপত্যকার সমস্ত মাঠ এবং পূর্ব দিকে ঘোড়া ফটকের কোণা পর্যন্ত, সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে আলাদা করা হবে। এটিকে আর কখনও উপড়ে ফেলা বা ছুঁড়ে ফেলা হবে না।”
