Hosea 2
1 Say ye to your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.
あなたがたの兄弟に向かっては「アンミ（わが民）」と言い、あなたがたの姉妹に向かっては「ルハマ（あわれまれる者）」と言え。
2 Contend with your mother, contend: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her harlotry out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
「あなたがたの母とあげつらえ、あげつらえ彼女はわたしの妻ではない、わたしは彼女の夫ではないそして彼女にその顔から淫行を除かせ、その乳ぶさの間から姦淫を除かせよ。
3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.
そうでなければ、わたしは彼女の着物をはいで裸にし、その生れ出た日のようにし、また荒野のようにし、かわききった地のようにし、かわきによって彼女を殺す。
4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they are the children of harlotry.
わたしはその子らをあわれまない、彼らは淫行の子らだからである。
5 For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.
彼らの母は淫行をなし、彼らをはらんだ彼女は恥ずべきことを行った。彼女は言った、『わたしはわが恋人たちについて行こう。彼らはパンと水と羊の毛と麻と油と飲み物とを、わたしに与える者である』と。
6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
それゆえ、わたしはいばらで彼女の道をふさぎ、かきをたてて、彼女にはその道がわからないようにする。
7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
彼女はその恋人たちのあとを慕って行く、しかし彼らに追いつくことはない。彼らを尋ねる、しかし見いだすことはない。そこで彼女は言う、『わたしは行って、さきの夫に帰ろう。あの時は今よりもわたしによかったから』と。
8 For she did not know that I gave her grain, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
彼女に穀物と酒と油とを与えた者、またバアルのために用いた銀と金とを多く彼女に与えた者は、わたしであったことを彼女は知らなかった。
9 Therefore will I return, and take away my grain in its time, and my wine in its season, and I will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
それゆえ、わたしは穀物をその時になって奪い、ぶどう酒をその季節になって奪い、また彼女の裸をおおうために用いる羊の毛と麻とを奪い取る。
10 And now will I uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of my hand.
わたしは今、彼女のみだらなことをその恋人たちの目の前にあらわす。だれも彼女をわたしの手から救う者はない。
11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
わたしは彼女のすべての楽しみ、すなわち祝、新月、安息日、すべての祭をやめさせる。
12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
わたしはまた彼女が先に『これはわたしの恋人らが、わたしに与えた報酬だ』と言った彼女のぶどうの木と、いちじくの木とを荒し、これを林とし、野の獣にこれを食わせる。
13 And I will judge her for the days of Baalim, in which she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgot me, saith the LORD.
また彼女が耳輪と宝石で身を飾り、その恋人たちを慕って行って、わたしを忘れ、香をたいて仕えたバアルの祭の日のために、わたしは彼女を罰すると主は言われる。
14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak kindly to her.
それゆえ、見よ、わたしは彼女をいざなって、荒野に導いて行き、ねんごろに彼女に語ろう。
15 And I will give her her vineyards there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came from the land of Egypt.
その所でわたしは彼女にそのぶどう畑を与え、アコルの谷を望みの門として与える。その所で彼女は若かった日のように、エジプトの国からのぼって来た時のように、答えるであろう。
16 And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.
主は言われる、その日には、あなたはわたしを『わが夫』と呼び、もはや『わがバアル』とは呼ばない。
17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
わたしはもろもろのバアルの名を彼女の口から取り除き、重ねてその名をとなえることのないようにする。
18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down in safety.
その日には、わたしはまたあなたのために野の獣、空の鳥および地の這うものと契約を結び、また弓と、つるぎと、戦争とを地から断って、あなたを安らかに伏させる。
19 And I will betroth thee to me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee to me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
またわたしは永遠にあなたとちぎりを結ぶ。すなわち正義と、公平と、いつくしみと、あわれみとをもってちぎりを結ぶ。
20 I will even betroth thee to me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
わたしは真実をもって、あなたとちぎりを結ぶ。そしてあなたは主を知るであろう。
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
主は言われる、その日わたしは天に答え、天は地に答える。
22 And the earth shall hear the grain, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
地は穀物と酒と油とに答え、またこれらのものはエズレルに答える。
23 And I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them who were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
わたしはわたしのために彼を地にまき、あわれまれぬ者をあわれみ、わたしの民でない者に向かって、『あなたはわたしの民である』と言い、彼は『あなたはわたしの神である』と言う」。
