Hebrews 8
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
Ora, o ponto-chave do que falamos é que temos um Sumo Sacerdote que está sentado à direita do trono da Majestade nos céus,
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
servidor do Santuário, e do verdadeiro Tabernáculo, que Senhor ergueu, e não o homem.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: therefore it is of necessity that this man should have somewhat also to offer.
Pois todo sumo sacerdote é constituído para apresentar tanto ofertas como sacrifícios; por isso era necessário que também este tivesse alguma coisa a oferecer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Mas, se ele [ainda] estivesse na terra, nem sequer seria sacerdote, já que [ainda] há os que apresentam as ofertas segundo a Lei.
5 Who serve to the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished by God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shown to thee in the mount.
Esses servem a um esboço, uma sombra das coisas celestiais, como Moisés foi divinamente avisado, antes de construir o Tabernáculo. Porque [Deus] disse: Olha, faze tudo conforme o modelo que te foi mostrado no monte.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Mas agora [Jesus] obteve um ofício mais relevante, como é também Mediador de um melhor pacto, que está firmado em melhores promessas.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Pois, se aquele primeiro tivesse sido infalível, nunca haveria se buscado lugar para o segundo.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Porque, enquanto [Deus] repreendia os do povo, disse-lhes: Eis que vêm dias, diz o Senhor, que, sobre o povo de Israel e sobre o povo de Judá, estabelecerei um novo pacto;
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
não conforme o pacto que fiz com os seus ancestrais no dia em que eu os tomei pelas mãos, para os tirar da terra do Egito. Pois não permaneceram naquele meu pacto, e parei de lhes dar atenção, diz o Senhor.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Este, pois, é o pacto que farei com o povo de Israel depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Porei minhas leis nas mentes deles, e as escreverei em seus corações. Eu serei o Deus deles, e eles serão o meu povo.
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
E não terão de ensinar cada um ao seu conterrâneo, ou ao seu irmão, dizendo: “Conhece ao Senhor”; porque todos me conhecerão, desde o menor deles até o maior.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Pois serei misericordioso com as suas injustiças, e não mais me lembrarei dos seus pecados.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and groweth old is ready to vanish away.
Quando ele disse: “Novo [pacto]”, ele tornou o primeiro ultrapassado. Ora, o que se torna ultrapassado e envelhece está perto de desaparecer.
