Haggai 1
1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
En el año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, en el primer día del mes, fue palabra de Jehová por mano del profeta Aggeo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá; y a Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, diciendo:
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD’S house should be built.
Jehová de los ejércitos habla así, diciendo: Este pueblo dice: No es aun venido el tiempo, el tiempo de la casa de Jehová para edificarse.
3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
Fue pues palabra de Jehová por mano del profeta Aggeo, diciendo:
4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your panelled houses, and this house lie waste?
¿Tenéis vosotros tiempo, vosotros, para morar en vuestras casas dobladas, y esta casa será desierta?
5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
Pues así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Pensád bien sobre vuestros caminos:
6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe yourselves, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
Sembráis mucho, y encerráis poco: coméis, y no os hartáis: bebéis, y no os embriagáis: os vestís, y no os calentáis; y el que anda a jornal, recibe su jornal en trapo horadado.
7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Pensád bien sobre vuestros caminos.
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
Subíd al monte, y traed madera, y edificád la casa; y pondré en ella mi voluntad, y honrarme he con ella, dijo Jehová.
9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that is waste, and ye run every man to his own house.
Miraréis a mucho, y hallaréis poco; y encerraréis en casa, y yo lo soplaré. ¿Por qué? dijo Jehová de los ejércitos. Por cuanto mi casa está desierta, y cada uno de vosotros corre a su casa.
10 Therefore the heavens over you withhold the dew, and the earth withholdeth her fruit.
Por esto se detuvo la lluvia de los cielos sobre vosotros, y la tierra detuvo sus frutos.
11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the grain, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
Y llamé a la sequedad sobre esta tierra, y sobre los montes, y sobre el trigo, y sobre el vino, y sobre el aceite, y sobre todo lo que la tierra produce; y sobre los hombres, y sobre las bestias, y sobre todo trabajo de manos.
12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
Y oyó Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, y todo el demás pueblo la voz de Jehová su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Aggeo, como le había enviado Jehová el Dios de ellos; y temió el pueblo delante de Jehová.
13 Then spoke Haggai the LORD’S messenger in the LORD’S message to the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.
Y habló Aggeo embajador de Jehová en la embajada de Jehová al pueblo, diciendo: Yo con vosotros, dijo Jehová.
14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
Y despertó Jehová el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y el espíritu de Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, y el espíritu de todo el resto del pueblo, y vinieron, e hicieron obra en la casa de Jehová de los ejércitos su Dios,
15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
En el día veinte y cuatro del mes sexto, en el segundo año del rey Darío.
