Genesis 6
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
೧ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಯಿತು. ಇವರಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳು
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all whom they chose.
೨ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ದೇವಪುತ್ರರು ತಮಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾದವರನ್ನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
೩ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಹೆಣಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ರಕ್ತಮಾಂಸ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮರ್ತ್ಯರೇ. ಅವರು ನೂರ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಬದುಕುವರು” ಅಂದನು.
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
೪ಅನಂತರ ದೇವಪುತ್ರರು ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಗಮಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಅದಾದ ನಂತರವೂ ಜಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಫೀಲಿಯರು ಇದ್ದರು. ಇವರೇ ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾದವರು.
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
೫ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ, ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದೆಲ್ಲವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನೋಡಿದನು.
6 And the LORD repented that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
೬ಯೆಹೋವನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಥೆಪಟ್ಟು, ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for I repent that I have made them.
೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ನಾನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಜಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಅಳಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು; ಮನುಷ್ಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಕಲ ಕಾಡುಮೃಗ, ಕ್ರಿಮಿ, ಕೀಟ, ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ದುಃಖವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ದುಃಖಿಸಿದನು.
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
೮ಆದರೆ ನೋಹನ ನಡವಳಿಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆಯಾದುದರಿಂದ ನೋಹನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಿತು.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
೯ನೋಹನ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ: ನೋಹನು ಸತ್ಯವಂತನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಆಗಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ದೇವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.
10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
೧೦ನೋಹನು ಶೇಮ್, ಹಾಮ್, ಯೆಫೆತ್ ಎಂಬ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
೧೧ಭೂಲೋಕದವರು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ನಡತೆಯಿಂದ ದೋಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಹಿಂಸೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
೧೨ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅದು ಕೆಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿ ಕಲುಷಿತಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಭೂನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
13 And God said to Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
೧೩ಆಗ ದೇವರು ನೋಹನಿಗೆ, “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಂತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಭೂಲೋಕವು ಅನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಹಿಂಸೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ತುಂಬಿದೆ; ನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಅಳಿಸಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
೧೪ನೀನು ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತುರಾಯಿ ಮರದಿಂದ ನಾವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೋ; ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬ ಕೋಣೆಗಳು ಇರಬೇಕು; ಒಳಕ್ಕೂ ಹೊರಕ್ಕೂ ರಾಳವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚು.
15 And this is the fashion in which thou shalt make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
೧೫ನೀನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ವಿಧಾನ ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, ಅದು ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಮೊಳ ಉದ್ದವೂ, ಐವತ್ತು ಮೊಳ ಅಗಲವೂ, ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮೊಳ ಎತ್ತರವೂ ಉಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿರಬೇಕು.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in its side; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
೧೬ಅದರ ಚಾವಣಿಯ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಒಂದು ಮೊಳ ಎತ್ತರದ ಕಿಟಕಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು; ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನಿಡಬೇಕು. ನಾವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಮೂರು ಅಂತಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is on the earth shall die.
೧೭ನಾನಂತೂ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಜಲಪ್ರಳಯವನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿ ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗಿರುವ ಸಕಲಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವೂ ಲಯವಾಗುವುದು.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
೧೮“ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಒಂದು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಸೊಸೆಯರು ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ನಾವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಬೇಕು.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
೧೯ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿ ಜಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಒಂದು ಗಂಡು ಒಂದು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಹೀಗೆ ಎರಡೆರಡನ್ನು ನಾವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿ, ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉಳಿಸಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every sort shall come to thee, to keep them alive.
೨೦ಪಶು, ಪಕ್ಷಿ, ಕಾಡುಮೃಗ, ಕ್ರಿಮಿ, ಕೀಟ ಇವುಗಳ ಸಕಲ ಜಾತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಎರಡೆರಡು ಬದುಕುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವವು.
21 And take thou to thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
೨೧ನಿನಗೂ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೂ ಪೋಷಣೆಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಸಕಲ ವಿಧವಾದ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
೨೨ದೇವರು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ನೋಹನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
