Genesis 31

1 And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he obtained all this glory.

൧എന്നാൽ “ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനുള്ളതെല്ലാം യാക്കോബ് എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ വകകൊണ്ട് അവൻ ഈ ധനം എല്ലാം സമ്പാദിച്ചു” എന്നു ലാബാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകളെ യാക്കോബ് കേട്ടു.

2 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

൨യാക്കോബ് ലാബാന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അത് തന്റെ നേരെ മുൻപെന്നപോലെ അല്ല എന്നു കണ്ടു.

3 And the LORD said to Jacob, Return to the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

൩അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ യാക്കോബിനോട്: “നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കും നിന്റെ കുടുംബക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കും മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുക; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കും” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4 And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah into the field to his flock,

൪യാക്കോബ് ആളയച്ച് റാഹേലിനേയും ലേയായെയും വയലിൽ തന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്ക് വിളിപ്പിച്ചു,

5 And said to them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.

൫അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ മുഖം എന്റെ നേരെ മുൻപെന്നപോലെ അല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ കാണുന്നു; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ദൈവം എന്നോടുകൂടി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

6 And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.

൬നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സർവ്വബലത്തോടുംകൂടി സേവിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നെ അറിയാമല്ലോ.

7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God allowed him not to hurt me.

൭നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനോ എന്നെ ചതിച്ച് എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം മാറ്റി; എങ്കിലും എന്നോട് ദോഷം ചെയ്യുവാൻ ദൈവം അവനെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bore speckled: and if he said thus, The striped shall be thy hire; then all the cattle bore striped.

൮‘പുള്ളിയുള്ളവ നിന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ’ എന്ന് അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ കൂട്ടമൊക്കെയും പുള്ളിയുള്ള കുട്ടികളെ പെറ്റു; ‘വരയുള്ളവ നിന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ’ എന്നവൻ പറഞ്ഞു എങ്കിൽ കൂട്ടമൊക്കെയും വരയുള്ള കുട്ടികളെ പെറ്റു.

9 Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

൯ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തെ എടുത്ത് എനിക്ക് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

10 And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up my eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were striped, speckled, and spotted.

൧൦ആടുകൾ ചനയേല്ക്കുന്ന കാലത്ത് ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ ആടുകളിന്മേൽ കയറുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകൾ വരയും പുള്ളിയും മറുകും ഉള്ളവ എന്നു കണ്ടു.

11 And the angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

൧൧ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ എന്നോട്: ‘യാക്കോബേ’ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു; ‘ഞാൻ ഇതാ’ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

12 And he said, Lift up now thy eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are striped, speckled, and spotted: for I have seen all that Laban doeth to thee.

൧൨അപ്പോൾ ദൂതൻ: ‘നീ തലപൊക്കി നോക്കുക; ആടുകളുടെമേൽ കയറുന്ന മുട്ടാടുകൾ എല്ലാം വരയും പുള്ളിയും മറുകുമുള്ളവയല്ലോ; ലാബാൻ നിന്നോട് ചെയ്യുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou didst anoint the pillar, and where thou didst vow to me a vow: now arise, depart from this land, and return to the land of thy kindred.

൧൩നീ തൂണിനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്യുകയും എന്നോട് നേർച്ചനേരുകയും ചെയ്ത സ്ഥലമായ ബേഥേലിന്റെ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു ഞാൻ; ആകയാൽ നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റ്, ഈ ദേശംവിട്ട് നിന്റെ ജന്മദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകുക’ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”.

14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said to him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?

൧൪റാഹേലും ലേയായും അവനോട് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: “അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇനി ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടോ?

15 Are we not counted by him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite consumed also our money.

൧൫അവൻ ഞങ്ങളെ അന്യരായിട്ടല്ലയോ വിചാരിക്കുന്നത്? ഞങ്ങളെ വിറ്റു വിലയും എല്ലാം തിന്നു കളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children’s: now then, whatever God hath said to thee, do.

൧൬ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്ന് എടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞ സമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾക്കും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കും ഉള്ളതല്ലോ; ആകയാൽ ദൈവം നിന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളുക”.

17 Then Jacob arose, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;

൧൭അങ്ങനെ യാക്കോബ് എഴുന്നേറ്റ് തന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരെയും പുത്രന്മാരെയും ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു കയറ്റി.

18 And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gained, the cattle of his getting, which he had gained in Padanaram, to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

൧൮തന്റെ കന്നുകാലികളെ മുഴുവനും താൻ സമ്പാദിച്ച സകല സമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും താൻ പദ്ദൻ-അരാമിൽ സമ്പാദിച്ച മൃഗസമ്പത്തൊക്കെയും ചേർത്തുകൊണ്ട് കനാൻദേശത്തു തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുവാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

19 And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s.

൧൯ലാബാൻ തന്റെ ആടുകളെ രോമം കത്രിക്കുവാൻ പോയിരുന്നു; റാഹേൽ തന്റെ അപ്പനുള്ള ഗൃഹവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചു.

20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he was fleeing.

൨൦താൻ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നതു യാക്കോബ് അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാനോടു അറിയിക്കായ്കയാൽ അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചായിരുന്നു പോയത്.

21 So he fled with all that he had; and he arose, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.

൨൧ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ തനിക്കുള്ള സകലവുമായി ഓടിപ്പോയി; അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നദികടന്നു, ഗിലെയാദ്പർവ്വതത്തിനു നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു.

22 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled.

൨൨യാക്കോബ് ഓടിപ്പോയി എന്നു ലാബാനു മൂന്നാംദിവസം അറിവുകിട്ടി.

23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.

൨൩ഉടനെ അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി അവനെ പിന്തുടർന്നു ഗിലെയാദ്പർവ്വതത്തിൽ അവനോടൊപ്പം എത്തി.

24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

൨൪എന്നാൽ ദൈവം രാത്രി സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ അരാമ്യനായ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന് അവനോട്: “നീ യാക്കോബിനോട് ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും പറയാതിരിക്കുവാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക” എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

25 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.

൨൫ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടൊപ്പം എത്തി; യാക്കോബ് പർവ്വതത്തിൽ കൂടാരം അടിച്ചിരുന്നു; ലാബാനും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുമായി ഗിലെയാദ്പർവ്വതത്തിൽ കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു.

26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?

൨൬ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “നീ എന്നെ ഒളിച്ചു പോകുകയും എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ വാളാൽ പിടിച്ചവരെപ്പോലെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ചെയ്തത് എന്ത്?

27 Why didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with timbrel, and with harp?

൨൭നീ എന്നെ തോല്പിച്ചു രഹസ്യമായിട്ട് ഓടിപ്പോകുകയും ഞാൻ സന്തോഷത്തോടും സംഗീതത്തോടും മുരജത്തോടും വീണയോടുംകൂടെ നിന്നെ അയയ്ക്കുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും

28 And hast not permitted me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

൨൮എന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ചുംബിക്കുവാൻ എനിക്ക് അവസരം തരാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തത് എന്ത്? ഭോഷത്വമാണു നീ ചെയ്തത്.

29 It is in the power of my hand to do you harm: but the God of your father spoke to me last night, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

൨൯നിങ്ങളോട് ദോഷം ചെയ്യുവാൻ എന്റെ പക്കൽ ശക്തിയുണ്ട്; എങ്കിലും ‘നീ യാക്കോബിനോടു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും പറയാതിരിക്കുവാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക’ എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവം കഴിഞ്ഞ രാത്രി എന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

30 And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou didst earnestly long after thy father’s house, yet why hast thou stolen my gods?

൩൦ആകട്ടെ, നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തോടുള്ള അതിവാഞ്ഛയാൽ നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്നു; എന്നാൽ എന്‍റെ ഗ്രഹബിംബങ്ങളെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചത് എന്തിന്”

31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, It may be thou wouldest take thy daughters from me by force.

൩൧യാക്കോബ് ലാബാനോട്: “പക്ഷേ നിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ നീ എന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്ന് ബലമായി പിടിച്ചുവയ്ക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

32 With whomever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

൩൨എന്നാൽ നീ ആരുടെ പക്കൽ എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ഗൃഹബിംബങ്ങളെ കണ്ടാൽ അവൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുത്; എന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്റെ വക വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു നീ നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ കാൺകെ നോക്കി എടുക്ക” എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. റാഹേൽ അവയെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചത് യാക്കോബ് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

33 And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents; but he found them not. Then he went out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.

൩൩അങ്ങനെ ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലും ലേയായുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലും രണ്ടു ദാസിമാരുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലും ചെന്നു നോക്കി, ഒന്നും കണ്ടില്ലതാനും; അവൻ ലേയായുടെ കൂടാരത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി റാഹേലിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.

34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel’s saddle, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

൩൪എന്നാൽ റാഹേൽ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ എടുത്ത് ഒട്ടകക്കോപ്പിനുള്ളിൽ ഇട്ട് അതിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ലാബാൻ കൂടാരത്തിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും തിരഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.

൩൫അവൾ അപ്പനോട്: “യജമാനൻ കോപിക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുവാൻ എനിക്ക് കഴിയുകയില്ല; സ്ത്രീകൾക്കുള്ള പതിവ് എനിക്ക് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ പരിശോധിച്ചു; ഗൃഹവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.

36 And Jacob was angry, and contended with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

൩൬അപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബിനു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചു, അവൻ ലാബാനോടു വാദിച്ചു. യാക്കോബ് ലാബാനോടു പറഞ്ഞത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: “എന്റെ കുറ്റം എന്ത്? നീ ഇത്ര ഉഗ്രതയോടെ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഓടി വരേണ്ടതിന് എന്റെ തെറ്റ് എന്ത്?

37 Though thou hast searched all my things, what hast thou found of all thy household things? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge between us both.

൩൭നീ എന്റെ സാധനങ്ങളൊക്കെയും പരിശോധിച്ചുവല്ലോ; നിന്റെ വീട്ടിലെ സാധനം വല്ലതും കണ്ടുവോ? എന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കും നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കും മുമ്പാകെ ഇവിടെ വെക്കുക; അവർ നമുക്കിരുവർക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ വിധിക്കട്ടെ.

38 These twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy female goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.

൩൮ഈ ഇരുപതു വർഷം ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പാർത്തു; നിന്റെ ചെമ്മരിയാടുകൾക്കും കോലാടുകൾക്കും ചനനാശം വന്നിട്ടില്ല. നിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിലെ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെ ഞാൻ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല.

39 That which was torn by beasts I brought not to thee; I bore the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.

൩൯ദുഷ്ടമൃഗം കടിച്ചുകീറിയതിനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാതെ ഞാൻ അതിന് ഉത്തരവാദിയായിരുന്നു; പകൽ മോഷണം പോയതിനെയും രാത്രി മോഷണം പോയതിനെയും നീ എന്നോട് ചോദിച്ചു.

40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from my eyes.

൪൦ഇതായിരുന്നു എന്റെ അനുഭവം; പകൽ വെയിൽകൊണ്ടും രാത്രി തണുപ്പുകൊണ്ടും ഞാൻ ക്ഷയിച്ചു; എന്റെ കണ്ണിന് ഉറക്കമില്ലാതെയായി.

41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

൪൧ഈ ഇരുപതു വർഷം ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വസിച്ചു; പതിനാല് വർഷം നിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാർക്കായിട്ടും ആറ് വർഷം നിന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തിനായിട്ടും നിന്നെ സേവിച്ചു; പത്തു പ്രാവശ്യം നീ എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം മാറ്റി.

42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst now sent me away empty. God hath seen my affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee last night.

൪൨എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവമായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ഭയവുമായവൻ എനിക്ക് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നീ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്നെ വെറുതെ അയച്ചുകളയുമായിരുന്നു; ദൈവം എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ അധ്വാനവും കണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞ രാത്രി ന്യായംവിധിച്ചു”.

43 And Laban answered and said to Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day to these my daughters, or to their children which they have borne?

൪൩ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിനോട്: “പുത്രിമാർ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ, മക്കൾ എന്റെ മക്കൾ, ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടം എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടം; നീ കാണുന്നതൊക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളതുതന്നെ; ഈ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടോ അവർ പ്രസവിച്ച മക്കളോടോ ഞാൻ ഇന്ന് എന്ത് ചെയ്യും?

44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

൪൪അതുകൊണ്ട് വരിക, ഞാനും നീയും തമ്മിൽ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യുക; അത് എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കട്ടെ” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

45 And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.

൪൫അപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് ഒരു കല്ല് എടുത്തു തൂണായി നിർത്തി.

46 And Jacob said to his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they ate there upon the heap.

൪൬“കല്ലുകൾ കൂട്ടുവിൻ” എന്നു യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരോട് പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ കല്ലുകൾ എടുത്ത് ഒരു കൂമ്പാരമുണ്ടാക്കി; കൂമ്പാരത്തിന്മേൽവച്ച് അവർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

47 And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.

൪൭ലാബാൻ അതിന് യെഗർ-സഹദൂഥാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; എന്നാൽ യാക്കോബ് അതിന് ഗലേദ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

൪൮“ഈ കൂമ്പാരം ഇന്ന് എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷി” എന്ന് ലാബാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അതുകൊണ്ട് അതിന് ഗലേദ് എന്നും മിസ്പാഎന്നും പേരായി:

49 And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.

൪൯“നാം തമ്മിൽ അകന്നിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യഹോവ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ കാവലായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

50 If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives besides my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness between me and thee.

൫൦നീ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുകയോ എന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെയല്ലാതെ വേറെ സ്ത്രീകളെ സ്വീകരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ നമ്മോടുകൂടെ ആരും ഇല്ല; നോക്കുക, ദൈവം തന്നെ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ സാക്ഷി” എന്ന് അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast between me and thee;

൫൧ലാബാൻ പിന്നെയും യാക്കോബിനോട്: “ഇതാ, ഈ കൂമ്പാരം; ഇതാ, എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ നിർത്തിയ തൂൺ.

52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, for harm.

൫൨ദോഷത്തിനായി ഞാൻ ഈ കൂമ്പാരം കടന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരാതെയും നീ ഈ കൂമ്പാരവും ഈ തൂണും കടന്ന് എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരാതെയും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ കൂമ്പാരവും സാക്ഷി, ഈ തൂണും സാക്ഷി.

53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

൫൩അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും നാഹോരിന്റെ ദൈവവും അവരുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ദൈവവുമായവൻ നമുക്കു മദ്ധ്യേ വിധിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ പിതാവായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ഭയമായവനെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യംചെയ്തു.

54 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they ate bread, and tarried all night in the mount.

൫൪പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് പർവ്വതത്തിൽ യാഗം അർപ്പിച്ചു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുവാൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു; അവർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു പർവ്വതത്തിൽ രാത്രിപാർത്തു.

55 And early in the morning Laban arose, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned to his place.

൫൫ലാബാൻ അതിരാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് തന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ചുംബിക്കുകയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തശേഷം അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
