Genesis 25
1 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah.
アブラハム再妻を娶る其名をケトラといふ
2 And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
彼ジムラン、ヨクシヤン、メダン、ミデアン、イシバク、シユワを生り
3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
ヨクシヤン、シバとデダンを生むデダンの子はアッシユリ族レトシ族リウミ族なり
4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah.
ミデアンの子はエパ、エペル、ヘノク、アビダ、エルダアなり是等は皆ケトラの子孫なり
5 And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.
アブラハム其所有を盡くイサクに與へたり
6 But to the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, to the east country.
アブラハムの妾等の子にはアブラハム其生る間の物をあたへて之をして其子イサクを離れて東にさりて東の國に至らしむ
7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred and seventy and five years.
アブラハムの生存へたる齡の日は即ち百七十五年なりき
8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
アブラハム遐齡に及び老人となり年滿て氣たえ死て其民に加る
9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
其子イサクとイシマエル之をヘテ人ゾハルの子エフロンの野なるマクペラの洞穴に葬れり是はマムレの前にあり
10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
即ちアブラハムがヘテの子孫より買たる野なり彼處にアブラハムと其妻サラ葬らる
11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.
アブラハムの死たる後神其子イサクを祝みたまふイサクはベエルラハイロイの邊に住り
12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bore to Abraham:
サラの侍婢なるエジプト人ハガルがアブラハムに生たる子イシマエルの傳は左のごとし
13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
イシマエルの子の名は其名氏と其世代に循ひて言ば是のごとしイシマエルの長子はネバヨテなり其次はケダル、アデビエル、ミブサム
14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
ミシマ、ドマ、マツサ
15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
ハダデ、テマ、ヱトル、ネフシ、ケデマ
16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.
是等はイシマエルの子なり是等は其郷黨を其營にしたがひて言る者にして其國に循ひていへば十二の牧伯なり
17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered to his people.
イシマエルの齡は百三十七歳なりき彼いきたえ死て其民にくははる
18 And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.
イシマエルの子等はハビラよりエジプトの前なるシユルまでの間に居住てアッスリヤまでにおよべりイシマエルは其すべての兄弟等のまへにすめり
19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
アブラハムの子イサクの傳は左のごとしアブラハム、イサクを生り
20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah for a wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
イサク四十歳にしてリベカを妻に娶れりリベカはパダンアラムのスリア人ベトエルの女にしてスリア人ラバンの妹なり
21 And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
イサク其妻の子なきに因て之がためにヱホバに祈願をたてければヱホバ其ねがひを聽たまへり遂に其妻リベカ孕みしが
22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it is so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD.
其子胎の内に爭そひければ然らば我いかで斯てあるべきと言て往てヱホバに問に
23 And the LORD said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be born of thee; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
ヱホバ彼に言たまひけるは二の國民汝の胎にあり二の民汝の腹より出て別れん一の民は一の民よりも強かるべし大は小に亊へんと
24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
かくて臨月みちて見しに胎には孿ありき
25 And the first was born red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.
先に出たる者は赤くして躰中裘の如し其名をエサウと名けたり
26 And after that his brother was born, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
其後に弟出たるが其手にエサウの踵を持り其名をヤコブとなづけたりリベカが彼等を生し時イサクは六十歳なりき
27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a skilful hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
茲に童子人となりしがエサウは巧なる獵人にして野の人となりヤコブは質樸なる人にして天幕に居ものとなれり
28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
イサクは麆を嗜によりてエサウを愛したりしがリベカはヤコブを愛したり
29 And Jacob boiled pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
茲にヤコブ羹を煮たり時にエサウ野より來りて憊れ居り
30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
エサウ、ヤコブにむかひ我憊れたれば請ふ其紅羹其處にある紅羹を我にのませよといふ是をもて彼の名はエドム（紅）と稱らる
31 And Jacob said, Sell to me this day thy birthright.
ヤコブ言けるは今日汝の家督の權を我に鬻れ
32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright bring to me?
エサウいふ我は死んとして居る此家督の權我に何の益をなさんや
33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore to him: and he sold his birthright to Jacob.
ヤコブまた言けるは今日我に誓へと彼すなはち誓て其家督の權をヤコブに鬻ぬ
34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he ate and drank, and rose, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
是に於てヤコブ、パンと扁豆の羹とをエサウに與へければ食且飮て起て去り斯エサウ家督の權を藐視じたり
