Ephesians 5
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
ⲁ̅ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲛ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ.
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲙⲉⲣⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲟⲥⲫⲟⲣⲁ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲑⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲩⲥϯⲛⲟⲩϥⲉ.
3 But immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
ⲅ̅ⲡⲟⲣⲛⲓⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲓⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲥⲓⲁ. ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲁⲓ̈ⲧⲟ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲧⲣⲉⲩⲧⲁⲩⲉⲣⲓⲛⲟⲩ ⲣⲱ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅. ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲡⲣⲉⲡⲉⲓ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ.
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.
ⲇ̅ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩϣⲗⲟϥ. ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩ(ϣ)ϫⲥⲟϭ. ⲏ̅ ⲟⲩⲗⲗⲏⲃ. ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲉϣϣⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩϣⲡ̅ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ.
5 For this ye know, that no immoral, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
ⲉ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ. ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡⲟⲣⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ. ⲏ̅ ⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲧⲟⲥ. ⲏ̅ ⲙⲁⲓ̈ⲧⲟ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲧⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲡⲉ ⲣⲉϥϣⲙ̅ϣⲉⲉⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲧϥ̅ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲟ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
ⲋ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲧⲣⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲣ̅ϩⲁⲗ ⲙ̅ⲙⲱⲧⲛ̅ ϩⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲩⲓ̈ⲧ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲟⲣⲅⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϫⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ.
7 Be ye not therefore partakers with them.
ⲍ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϣⲱⲡⲉ ϭⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϭⲏⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ.
8 For ye were once darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲟ ⲛ̅ⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲡⲉ. ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ.
9 ( For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; )
ⲑ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ϩⲙ̅ⲡ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲉ.
10 Proving what is acceptable to the Lord.
ⲓ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲣ̅ⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲓ ⲉⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲩⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϫⲡⲓⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϫⲓⲟⲩⲉ ϩⲉⲛϣⲗⲟϥ ⲉⲣ̅ⲡⲕⲉϫⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ·
13 But all things that are reproved are made visible by the light: for whatever doth make manifest is light.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϣⲁⲣⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲟⲩϫⲡⲓⲟ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ. ϩⲱⲃ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲉⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲉ.
14 Therefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ϥϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ. ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛⲅ̅ ⲡⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲕⲟⲧⲕ̅ ⲛⲅ̅ⲗⲟ ⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲧⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲣ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ϭⲱϣⲧ̅ ϭⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱⲣϫ̅ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛ̅ⲁϣ ⲛ̅ϩⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲁⲛ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲱⲥ ⲥⲁⲃⲉ.
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲱⲡ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲟⲟⲩ.
17 Therefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ.
18 And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϯϩⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲏⲣⲡ̅ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲉⲟⲩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲙⲛ̅ⲧϣⲛⲁ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧϥ̅. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅.
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲯⲁⲗⲙⲟⲥ. ⲙⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲥⲙⲟⲩ. ⲙⲛ̅ϩⲉⲛⲱⲇⲏ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲉⲩⲙⲁⲧⲓⲕⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϫⲱ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ⲯⲁⲗⲗⲓ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ.
20 Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
ⲕ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϣⲡ̅ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲁⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛ̅ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲑⲟⲧⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅·
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩϩⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ϫⲉ ⲡϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲧⲁⲡⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉⲧⲁⲡⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ. ⲛ̅ⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ.
24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅. ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ. ⲙⲁⲣⲉⲛⲉϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲩⲡⲟⲧⲁⲥⲥⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩϩⲁⲓ̈ ϩⲛ̅ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲧⲛ̅ϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲙⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁϥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲥ
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲧⲃ̅ⲃⲟⲥ. ⲉⲁϥⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲓⲍⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲙ̅ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡϫⲱⲕⲙ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ.
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϫⲉⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉⲧⲁϩⲉⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲥ̅ ⲉⲥⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲏⲩ. ⲉⲙⲛ̅ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϫⲱϩⲙ̅ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲥ̅. ⲏ̅ ⲧⲱⲗⲙ̅. ⲏ̅ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ϩⲱⲃ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲁⲥ ⲉⲥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲁⲧⲧⲱⲗⲙ̅·
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ϣ̅ϣⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲛϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲙⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ. ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲁⲁϥ.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲙⲉⲥⲧⲉⲧⲉϥⲥⲁⲣⲝ̅. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲥⲁⲛⲟⲩϣⲥ̅. ⲛϥ̅ⲑⲁⲗⲡⲉⲓ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲥ ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ.
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
ⲗ̅ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛⲙ̅ⲙⲉⲗⲟⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ·
31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲡⲉϥⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱϥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲙⲁⲁⲩ. ⲛϥ̅ⲧⲱϭⲉ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲥⲁⲣⲝ̅ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲱⲧ
32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉⲓ̈ⲙⲩⲥⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲟϭ ⲡⲉ. ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ϫⲱ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ·
33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲗⲏⲛ ⲛ̅ⲧⲱⲧⲛ̅ ϩⲱⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ̅ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲙⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉϥⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥϩⲉ. ⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲉⲥⲉⲣ̅ϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲏⲧϥ̅ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥϩⲁⲓ̈.
