< Ecclesiastes 12 >
1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
Nakhangdonlai thanopna chun na Sempa suhmilna sodoh hih hen. Natehset masang nakhangdon laihin, Ama chu jabollin chule “Hinkho hi anomtapoi,” tin seijin.
2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, are not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
Nateh’a namit tenin nisa lha le ahsiho vah avetna athim masang in, chule meibol’a kona go hung ju lha ding van chu athim masangin Ama chu geldoh in.
3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows shall be darkened,
Na in ngah’a pang nakengho chu ahung kithin masang in, na mihat ho alhahsuh uva chule na lengkou teni ahung bon masang in, na Sempa geldoh in. Nasoh um amoh chengse le naha hon ima alhai theilou masang in; chule namit tenin amutheina bangkot, numei hon avetna chu ahung thim masang in, Ama chu geldoh in.
4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding shall be low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low;
Hinkhoa phat kijen naneipat ahung kichai masang in chule natohgim phat ahung kichai masang in, Ama chu geldoh in. Husat ginho ahung thipma chule vacha hamgin najah masat tengleh nangma nahung kithodoh ding ahi.
5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
Nangma lhuh ding nahung kichat tijatna, chule lamlen jotna’a jong setto ding nalung khama, vaopah banga nasam ho ahung kana, chule khaokhopi tobanga nakhupboh’a lam nahin jot masang in, chule jitoh kingaina imacha nei talouva nahung um masang in, Ama chu geldoh in. Nangman na tonsot mun na jot masanga, lhankhuh nanai tul tul’a, na kivuina muna lunghem ho aka phat’u hung lhun masang in, Ama chu geldoh in.
6 Or ever the silver cord shall be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Nangma nakhandon pat hin dangka khaogui akibotan masang, sana khon aki vohkeh masang, twinah phunga twibel aki tachip masang, twibel phunga kangtalai aki vohbal masang in, na Sempa geldoh in.
7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it.
Ijeh inem itileh hiche phat chu ahung lhunteng, vut leiset kisoh kit intin; chule lhagao chu apepa Pathen henga kile kit ding ahi.
8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
Thuhilpa chun, “Ijakai ajehbei tobangbep ahi, ajeh bei ahisoh keije,” ati.
9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
Hiche hi nalung in ching jing in: Thuhilpa chu miching ahin, chule amachun ahetchan chu miho ahilji ahi. Ama chun thuchih tampi chingthetah’a angaitoa, agel-a chule ahop khen tohle ahi.
10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
Thuhilpa chun, thudihtah chu mudoh dinga ahol-a thutah chu kichehtah’a aphondoh nom ahi.
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
Miching thusei hochu tengcha hemtah tobanga ahin, najongleh phachoma ahi. Athuseiju kilakhom hohi thingkil kikil matchet tobang leuva kelngoi chingpan akelngoi ho huikhomna’a amanchah ji tobang ahi.
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Hinlah kacha, Keiman thuhilna naneibe kit inge: Chingthei jin, ajeh chu lekhabu ho jihdoh kitia kichai tih aumpoi, chule lekha hasim hin na cholsah ahije.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Hiche hi aboncha thu kaigom ahi. Tun keiman thukhumkhana kanei hi ngai phan: Pathen ginna neijin chule athupeh ho jui jin, ajeh chu hiche hi amitakip tohding kin ahi.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.
Ijakai chung changa, guhthim thudol- apha hihen ase hijongleh, Pathen in eiho thilbol dungjui cheh’a thutanna anei ding ahi.
