Deuteronomy 32

1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

১আকাশমণ্ডল! কান দাও, আমি বলি; পৃথিবীও আমার মুখের কথা শুনুক।

2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

২আমার শিক্ষা বৃষ্টির মতো বর্ষণ হবে, আমার কথা শিশিরের মতো নেমে আসবে, ঘাসের ওপরে পড়া বিন্দু বিন্দু বৃষ্টির মতো, শাকের ওপরে পড়া জলধারার মতো।

3 Because I will proclaim the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness to our God.

৩কারণ আমি সদাপ্রভুর নাম প্রচার করব; তোমরা আমাদের ঈশ্বরের মহিমা প্রশংসা কর।

4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

৪তিনি শিলা, তাঁর কাজ নির্ভুল, কারণ তাঁর সব পথ সঠিক; তিনি বিশ্বাস্য ঈশ্বর, তাঁতে অন্যায় নেই; তিনিই ধর্ম্মময় ও সরল।

5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

৫এরা তাঁর বিষয়ে ভ্রষ্টাচারী, তাঁর সন্তান নয়, এই এদের কলঙ্ক; এরা বিপথগামী ও কুটিল বংশ।

6 Do ye thus repay the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

৬তোমরা কি সদাপ্রভুকে এই প্রতিশোধ দিচ্ছ? হে বোকা ও বুদ্ধিহীন জাতি। তিনি কি তোমার বাবা না, যিনি তোমাকে লাভ করলেন? তিনিই তোমার সৃষ্টিকর্ত্তা ও স্থাপনকর্তা।

7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

৭পুরানো দিনের সময় সব মনে কর, বহুপুরুষের বছর সব আলোচনা কর; তোমার বাবাকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর, সে জানাবে; তোমার প্রাচীনদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর, তারা বলবে।

8 When the most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

৮সর্বশক্তিমান পরাৎপর যখন জাতিদেরকে অধিকার প্রদান করলেন, যখন মানবজাতিকে আলাদা করলেন, তখন ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সংখ্যানুসারেই সেই লোকদের সীমা নির্ধারণ করলেন।

9 For the LORD’S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

৯কারণ সদাপ্রভুর প্রজাই তাঁর অংশ; যাকোবই তাঁর ভাগের অধিকার।

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

১০তিনি তাকে পেলেন মরুপ্রান্তের দেশে, পশুগর্জনময় ঘোর মরুপ্রান্তে; তিনি তাকে ঘিরে নিলেন, তার যত্ন করলেন, চোখের তারার মতো তাকে রক্ষা করলেন।

11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

১১ঈগল যেমন নিজের বাসা পাহারা দেয়, নিজের শাবকদের ওপরে পাখা দোলায়, ডানা বাড়িয়ে দিয়ে তাদেরকে তুলে, পালকের ওপরে তাদেরকে বহন করে;

12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

১২সেভাবে সদাপ্রভু একাকী তাকে নিয়ে গেলেন; তাঁর সঙ্গে কোনো বিদেশী দেবতা ছিল না।

13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

১৩তিনি পৃথিবীর উঁচু সব জায়গাগুলির ওপর দিয়ে তাকে চালালেন, সে ক্ষেতের ফল খেল; তিনি তাকে পাথর থেকে মধু পান করালেন, চক্‌মকি পাথরের শিলা থেকে তেল দিলেন;

14 Butter of cattle, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

১৪তিনি গরুর মাখন, মেষীর দুগ্ধ্‌, মেষশাবকের মেদ সহ, বাশন দেশজাত মেষ ও ছাগ এবং উত্তম গমের সার তাকে দিলেন; তুমি দ্রাক্ষা ফলের দ্রাক্ষারস পান করলে।

15 But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked: thou hast become fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

১৫কিন্তু যিশুরূণ হৃষ্টপুষ্ট হয়ে পদাঘাত করল। তুমি হৃষ্টপুষ্ট, মোটা ও তৃপ্ত হলে; অমনি সে নিজের সৃষ্টি কর্তা ঈশ্বরকে ছাড়ল, নিজের পরিত্রানের শিলাকে ছোট মনে করল।

16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations they provoked him to anger.

১৬তারা বিজাতীয় দেবতার মাধ্যমে তার ঈর্ষা জন্মাল, ঘৃণার বস্তু দিয়ে তাঁকে অসন্তুষ্ট করল।

17 They sacrificed to demons, not to God; to gods which they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

১৭তারা বলিদান করল ভূতদের উদ্দেশ্যে, যারা ঈশ্বর নয়, দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে, যাদেরকে তারা জানত না, বর্তমান দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে, যাদেরকে তোমাদের পূর্ব পুরুষরা ভয় করত না।

18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

১৮তুমি নিজের জন্মদাতা শিলার প্রতি উদাসীন, নিজের জন্মদাতা ঈশ্বরকে ভুলে গেলে।

19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

১৯সদাপ্রভু দেখলেন, ঘৃণা করলেন, নিজের ছেলে মেয়েদের করা অসন্তোষজনক কাজের জন্য।

20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faith.

২০তিনি বললেন, “আমি ওদের থেকে নিজের মুখ ঢেকে রাখব;” তিনি বললেন, “ওদের শেষদশা কি হবে, দেখব; কারণ ওরা বিপরীতধর্মী বংশ, ওরা অবিশ্বস্ত সন্তান।

21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

২১যারা দেবতা নয় তাদের মাধ্যমে আমার অন্তরজ্বালা সৃষ্টি করল, নিজদের অযোগ্যও প্রতিমার মাধ্যমে আমাকে অসন্তুষ্ট করল; যারা জাতি নয় তাদের মাধ্যমে আমিও ওদের ঈর্ষান্বিত করব, আমি ওদেরকে একজাতির মাধ্যমে অসন্তুষ্ট করব যারা কিছুই বোঝে না।

22 For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)

২২কারণ আমার রাগে আগুন জ্বলে উঠল, তা নীচের পাতাল পর্যন্ত দগ্ধ করে, পৃথিবী ও ফসল গ্রাস করে, পর্বত সব কিছুর ভিত্তিতে আগুন লাগায়। (Sheol h7585)

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend my arrows upon them.

২৩আমি তাদের ওপরে অমঙ্গলের স্তূপ করব, তাদের প্রতি আমার বাণ সব ছুঁড়ব।

24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

২৪তারা খিদেতে দুর্বল হবে, জ্বলন্ত তাপে ও ভীষণভাবে ধ্বংসে কবলিত হবে; আমি তাদের কাছে জন্তুদের দাঁত পাঠাব, ধূলোতে অবস্থিত সরীসৃপের বিষ সহকারে।

25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

২৫বাইরে খড়গ এবং ঘরের মধ্যে ত্রাস বিনাশ করবে; যুবক ও কুমারীকে, দুধ খাওয়া শিশু ও সাদা চুল বিশিষ্ট বৃদ্ধকে মারবে।

26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

২৬আমি বললাম, তাদেরকে উড়িয়ে দেব, মানুষদের মধ্যে থেকে তাদের স্মৃতি মুছে দেব।

27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

২৭কিন্তু ভয় করি, পাছে শত্রু বিরক্ত করে পাছে তাদের শত্রুরা বিপরীত বিচার করে, পাছে তারা বলে, আমাদেরই হাত উন্নত এ সব কাজ সদাপ্রভু করেননি।

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

২৮কারণ ওরা জ্ঞানবিহীন জাতি, ওদের মধ্যে বিবেচনা নাই।

29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

২৯আহা, কেন তারা জ্ঞানবান হয়ে এই কথা বোঝে না? কেন নিজেদের শেষদশা বিবেচনা করে না?

30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

৩০এক জন কিভাবে হাজার লোককে তাড়িয়ে দেয়, দুই জন্য দশ হাজারকে পালাতে সাহায্য করে? না, তাদের শিলা তাদেরকে বিক্রি করলেন, সদাপ্রভু তাদেরকে সমর্পণ করলেন।

31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

৩১কারণ ওদের শিলা আমাদের শিলার মতো না, আমাদের শত্রুরাও এরকম বিচার করে।

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

৩২কারণ তাদের আঙ্গুর লতা সদোমের আঙ্গুর লতা থেকে উৎপন্ন; ঘমোরার ক্ষেতে অবস্থিত আঙ্গুর লতা থেকে উৎপন্ন; তাদের আঙ্গুর ফল বিষময়, তাদের গুচ্ছ তেতো;

33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

৩৩তাদের আঙ্গুর রস সাপদের বিষ, তা কালসাপের উৎকট হলাহল।

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

৩৪এটা কি আমার কাছে সঞ্চয় করে রাখা না? আমার অর্থভান্ডার সীলমোহরের মাধ্যমে রক্ষিত না?

35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

৩৫প্রতিশোধ ও প্রতিফলদান আমারই কাজ, যে দিনের তাদের পা পিছলে যাবে; কারণ তাদের বিপদের দিন কাছাকাছি, তাদের জন্য যা যা নির্ধারিত, তাড়াতাড়ি আসবে।”

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

৩৬কারণ সদাপ্রভু নিজের প্রজাদের বিচার করবেন, নিজের দাসদের ওপরে দয়া করবেন; যেহেতু তিনি দেখবেন, তাদের শক্তি গিয়েছে, বন্ধ কি খোলা কেউই নেই।

37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

৩৭তিনি বলবেন, “কোথায় তাদের দেবতা, কোথায় সেই শিলা, যার শরণ নিয়েছিল,

38 Which ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

৩৮যা তাদের বলির মেদ খেত, তাদের পানীয় নৈবেদ্যের আঙ্গুর রস পান করত? তারাই উঠে তোমাদের সাহায্য করুক, তারাই তোমাদের আশ্রয় হোক।

39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

৩৯এখন দেখ, আমি, আমিই তিনি; আমি ছাড়া কোনো ঈশ্বর নেই; আমি হত্যা করি, আমিই, জীবন্ত করি; আমি আঘাত করেছি, আমিই সুস্থ করি; আমার হাত থেকে উদ্ধারকারী কেউই নেই।

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

৪০কারণ আমি আকাশের দিকে হাত তুলি, আর বলি, আমি অনন্তজীবী,

41 If I shall whet my glittering sword, and my hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to my enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

৪১আমি যদি নিজের চকচকে তলোয়ারে শাণ দিই, যদি বিচারসাধনে হাত দিই, তবে আমার বিপক্ষদের প্রতিশোধ নেব, আমার বিদ্বেষীদেরকে প্রতিফল দিব।

42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

৪২আমি নিজের বাণ সব মত্ত করব রক্তপানে, মারা যাওয়া ও বন্দি লোকদের রক্তপানে; আমার তলোয়ারে মাংস খাবে, শত্রুদের প্রধানদের মাথা [খাবে]।

43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful to his land, and to his people.

৪৩জাতিরা, তাঁর প্রজাদের সঙ্গে আনন্দ কর; কারণ তিনি নিজের দাসদের রক্তের প্রতিফল দেবেন, নিজের বিপক্ষদের প্রতিশোধ নেবেন, নিজের দেশের জন্য, নিজের প্রজাদের জন্য প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করবেন।”

44 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

৪৪আর মোশি ও নূনের ছেলে হোশেয় এসে লোকদের কানে এই গানের সমস্ত কথা বললেন।

45 And Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel:

৪৫মোশি সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের কাছে এই সব কথা শেষ করলেন;

46 And he said to them, Set your hearts to all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

৪৬আর তিনি তাদেরকে বললেন, “আমি আজ তোমাদের কাছে সাক্ষ্য হিসাবে যা যা বললাম, তোমরা সেই সমস্ত কথায় মনোযোগ কর, আর তোমাদের সন্তানরা যেন এই ব্যবস্থার সব কথা পালন করতে যত্নবান্‌ হয়, এই জন্য তাদেরকে তা আদেশ করতে হবে।

47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, where ye go over Jordan to possess it.

৪৭কারণ এটা তোমাদের পক্ষে অর্থহীন বাক্য না, কারণ এটা তোমাদের জীবন এবং তোমরা যে দেশ অধিকার করতে যর্দ্দন পার হয়ে যাচ্ছ, সেই দেশে এই বাক্যের মাধ্যমে দীর্ঘায়ু হবে।”

48 And the LORD spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

৪৮সেই দিনের সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “তুমি এই অবারীম পর্বতে,

49 Go up to this mountain Abarim, to mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is opposite Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel for a possession:

৪৯অর্থাৎ যিরীহোর সামনে অবস্থিত মোয়াব দেশে অবস্থিত অবারীম পর্বতে ওঠ এবং আমি অধিকারের জন্যে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের যে দেশ দিচ্ছি, সেই কনান দেশ দেখ।

50 And die in the mount where thou goest, and be gathered to thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

৫০আর আমার ভাই হারোণ যেমন হোর পর্বতে মারা গিয়ে নিজের লোকদের কাছে সংগৃহীত হল, সেরকম তুমি যে পর্বতে উঠবে, তোমাকে সেখানে মারা গিয়ে নিজের লোকদের কাছে সংগৃহীত হতে হবে;

51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

৫১কারণ সিন মরুপ্রান্তে কাদেশে অবস্থিত মরীবা জলের কাছে তোমরা ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের মধ্যে আমার বিরুদ্ধে সত্যলঙ্ঘন করেছিলে, ফলে ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের মধ্যে আমাকে পবিত্র বলে মান্য করনি।

52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go there to the land which I give the children of Israel.

৫২তুমি নিজের সামনে দেশ দেখবে, কিন্তু আমি ইস্রায়েলের লোকদেরকে যে দেশ দিচ্ছি, সেখানে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না।”
