Deuteronomy 10
1 At that time the LORD said to me, Hew thee two tables of stone like the first, and come up to me upon the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
ആ സമയത്ത് യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെ രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ ചെത്തിയെടുത്ത് പർവതത്തിൽ എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിലേക്കു കയറിവരിക. മരംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഒരു പേടകവും ഉണ്ടാക്കുക.
2 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou didst break, and thou shalt put them in the ark.
നീ പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ആദ്യത്തെ കൽപ്പലകകളിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വചനങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ ഈ കൽപ്പലകകളിൽ എഴുതും. അവ നീ ആ പേടകത്തിൽ വെക്കണം.”
3 And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like the first, and went up to the mount, having the two tables in my hand.
അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഖദിരമരംകൊണ്ട് ഒരു പേടകമുണ്ടാക്കി. ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെയുള്ള രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകൾ ചെത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കി; കൈയിൽ ആ രണ്ടു കൽപ്പലകകളുമായി ഞാൻ പർവതത്തിൽ കയറി.
4 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spoke to you in the mount from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them to me.
മഹാസമ്മേളനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ദിവസം യഹോവ പർവതത്തിൽവെച്ച് അഗ്നിയുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളോടു വിളംബരംചെയ്ത പത്തു കൽപ്പനകളും, ആദ്യത്തെ ഫലകങ്ങളിലെ എഴുത്തുപോലെതന്നെ, യഹോവ ആ ഫലകങ്ങളിൽ എഴുതി. യഹോവ അവ എനിക്കു നൽകി.
5 And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are, as the LORD commanded me.
അതിനുശേഷം ഞാൻ പർവതത്തിൽനിന്നും ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന് ഞാൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ പേടകത്തിൽ ഫലകങ്ങൾ വെച്ചു. യഹോവ എന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവ അവിടെത്തന്നെ ഉണ്ട്.
6 And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his stead.
ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യാഖാന്യരുടെ കിണറുകൾക്കരികെനിന്ന് മൊസേരോത്തിലേക്കു യാത്രതിരിച്ചു. അഹരോൻ അവിടെ മരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അവിടെ സംസ്കരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനായ എലെയാസാർ അവനുശേഷം പുരോഹിതനായി.
7 From there they journeyed to Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.
അവർ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഗുദ്ഗോദെയിലേക്കും ഗുദ്ഗോദെയിൽനിന്ന് നീരുറവുകളുള്ള നാടായ യൊത്-ബാഥായ്ക്കും യാത്രയായി.
8 At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.
അക്കാലത്ത് യഹോവ തന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ പേടകം ചുമക്കുന്നതിനും ഇന്നുവരെ തുടർന്നുവരുന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്നതിനും അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതിനും ലേവിഗോത്രത്തെ വേർതിരിച്ചു.
9 Therefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.
അതുനിമിത്തം ലേവിക്ക് തന്റെ സഹോദന്മാരോടൊപ്പം ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ലഭിച്ചില്ല. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരോടു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തപ്രകാരം യഹോവതന്നെയാണ് അവരുടെ ഓഹരി.
10 And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened to me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.
ഞാൻ ആദ്യത്തേതുപോലെ നാൽപ്പതുരാവും നാൽപ്പതുപകലും പർവതത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചു. ഈ പ്രാവശ്യവും യഹോവ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു. നിന്നെ നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ യഹോവ തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
11 And the LORD said to me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them.
യഹോവ എന്നോട്, “എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, ഞാൻ അവർക്കു നൽകുമെന്ന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശം അവർ ചെന്ന് അവകാശമാക്കാൻ നീ ജനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലായി നടക്കുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അവിടത്തോടുള്ള അനുസരണത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണാത്മാവോടും സേവിക്കുകയും
13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
ഞാൻ ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും, നിനക്കു നന്മയുണ്ടാകാൻ അനുസരിക്കുകയും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്താണ് യഹോവ നിന്നോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത്?
14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens belongeth to the LORD thy God, the earth also, with all that is in it.
ഇതാ, സ്വർഗവും സ്വർഗാധിസ്വർഗങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയും അതിലുള്ള സകലതും നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയ്ക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു.
15 Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുമാത്രം യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നുകയും അവരെ സ്നേഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവർക്കുശേഷം അവരുടെ പിൻഗാമികളായ നിങ്ങളെ ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെതന്നെ എല്ലാ ജനതകളിൽനിന്നും തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.
16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രചർമം പരിച്ഛേദനം ചെയ്യുക. ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ളവരായിരിക്കരുത്.
17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, who regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ദേവാധിദൈവവും കർത്താധികർത്താവും സർവശക്തനും മഹാനും ഉന്നതനുമായ ദൈവം ആകുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് മുഖപക്ഷം കാണിക്കുകയോ കൈക്കൂലി വാങ്ങുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല.
18 He executeth the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
അവിടന്ന് അനാഥർക്കും വിധവമാർക്കുംവേണ്ടി നീതി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നു. അവിടന്ന് നിങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാസികളെ സ്നേഹിച്ച് അവർക്കു ഭക്ഷണവും വസ്ത്രവും നൽകുന്നു.
19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളും പ്രവാസികളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുക. നിങ്ങളും ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ പ്രവാസികളായിരുന്നല്ലോ.
20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ ഭയപ്പെട്ട്, അവിടത്തെ സേവിക്കണം. യഹോവയോട് പറ്റിച്ചേർന്ന്, അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്യണം.
21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thy eyes have seen.
അവിടന്നാകുന്നു നിന്റെ പുകഴ്ച; അവിടന്നാകുന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവം. നീ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള മഹത്തും ഭയങ്കരവുമായ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്തത് അവിടന്ന് ആകുന്നു.
22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എഴുപത് പേരാണ് ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു പോയത്. ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ആകാശത്തുള്ള നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ വർധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
