< Amos 6 >
1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, who are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
Nangcae Zion ah phuhnaep kaminawk, Samaria mae angoep haih kaminawk, Israel kaminawk angzohhaih, acaeng kalah kaminawk pongah ka sang koek, tiah poekhaih tawn kaminawk, khosak na bing o!
2 Pass ye to Calneh, and see; and from there go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: are they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
Kalneh ah caeh oh loe, khen oh; to hoiah thacak Hamath ah caeh oh; to pacoengah Philistia ah kaom Gath ah caeh o tathuk ah: nangcae loe to ah kaom siangpahrang ukhaih praenawk pongah na hoih o kue maw? To tih ai boeh loe nihcae ih ramri pongah nangcae ih ramri to len kue maw?
3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
Sethaih ni to na suek o sut moe, athii palonghaih to nang hnai o sak lat;
4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat lambs from the flock, and calves from the midst of the stall;
tasaino hoiah sak ih iihkhun nuiah na ih o, anghnuthaih kasawk nuiah nang hnuk o moe, kahoih koek tuucaa hoi maitaw kathawk moi hoiah buh na caak o;
5 That chant to the sound of the harp, and invent to themselves instruments of music, like David;
David baktiah nangmacae hanah katoeng to na sak o moe, tamoi lok hoiah koeh baktiah laa to na sak o.
6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
Boengloeng koi mongah misurtui to na naek o, kahoih koek hmuihoih tui to nang nok o, Joseph pacaekthlaekhaih pongah palung na sae o ai.
7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
To pongah nangcae loe tamna ah caeh kaminawk thungah hmaloe koek kami ah na om o tih; nihcae ih kanawm poihsakhaih loe boeng tih boeh.
8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore I will deliver up the city with all its abundance.
Angraeng Sithaw angmah roe mah lokkamhaih to sak boeh, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah, Jakob amoekhaih to ka panuet, anih angraenghaih ahmuennawk to ka hnukma; to pong ah vangpui hoi a thungah kaom hmuennawk boih minawk ban ah ka paek han, tiah thuih.
9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, they shall die.
Imthung maeto ah kami hato anghmat o nahaeloe, nihcae doeh dueh o vop tih.
10 And a man’s uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring the bones out of the house, and shall say to him that is inside of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
Hmaiqoeng hanah kadueh qok to imthung hoi lak naah, nang hoi kaom kami imthung ah oh vop maw? tiah anih han lokdueng tih, to naah anih mah, Om ai boeh, tiah thui tih. To pacoengah anih mah, Om duem ah, aicae mah Angraeng ih ahmin thuih han om ai, tiah naa tih.
11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
Khenah, Angraeng mah lokpaek boeh, anih mah kalen im to phrae ueloe, tetta im doeh phrae boih tih.
12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
Thlung kathah nuiah hrang cawnh thai maw? Kami mah maitaw tae hoi thlung nuiah laikok atok thai maw? Nangcae mah toenghaih to kakhaa ahmuet ah nang coeng o sak moe, toenghaih athaih to na khaa o sak ving boeh.
13 Ye who rejoice in a thing of nought, who say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
Nangcae loe tidoeh kaom ai, hmuen nuiah anghoehaih na tawnh o; aimacae tharahhaih rang hoiah na ai maw takiinawk to a lak o? tiah na thuih o.
14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entrance of Hamath to the river of the wilderness.
Khenah, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw mah, Aw Israel imthung takoh, nangcae tuk hanah prae maeto ka pathawk han, nihcae mah nangcae to Hamath akunhaih hoi praezaek vapui karoek to na pacaekthlaek o tih, tiah thuih.
