Acts 2
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
പെന്തക്കൊസ്തുനാൾ വന്നെത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവരെല്ലാവരും ഒരു സ്ഥലത്ത് ഒരുമിച്ച് ഇരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
പെട്ടെന്ന്, കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് വീശിയടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായി, അത് അവർ ഇരുന്ന വീടാകെ നിറഞ്ഞു.
3 And there appeared to them cloven tongues as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
തീജ്വാലപോലെ പിളർന്ന നാവുകൾ അവർക്കു ദൃശ്യമായി; അവ അവരിൽ ഓരോരുത്തരുടെമേൽ ആവസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
എല്ലാവരും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലായി, ആത്മാവ് കഴിവു നൽകിയതുപോലെ അവർക്ക് അന്യമായിരുന്ന ഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
എല്ലാ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുമുള്ള ഭക്തരായ യെഹൂദർ അപ്പോൾ ജെറുശലേമിൽ വന്നു താമസിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every man heard them speak in his own language.
ഈ ശബ്ദംകേട്ട് ജനങ്ങൾ വന്നുകൂടി; വന്നുകൂടിയ ഓരോരുത്തരുടെയും മാതൃഭാഷയിലുള്ള സംസാരം കേട്ട് അവർ സംഭ്രാന്തരായി.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who speak Galilaeans?
അത്ഭുതപരതന്ത്രരായ അവർ ആശ്ചര്യത്തോടെ ഇങ്ങനെ പരസ്പരം പറഞ്ഞു: “നോക്കൂ, ഈ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ എല്ലാവരും ഗലീലക്കാർ അല്ലേ?
8 And how do we hear every man in our own language, in which we were born?
പിന്നെ നാം ഓരോരുത്തരും ജനിച്ച നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്തംഭാഷയിൽ ഇവർ സംസാരിച്ചുകേൾക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
പാർഥ്യരും മേദ്യരും ഏലാമ്യരും; മെസൊപ്പൊത്താമിയ, യെഹൂദ്യാ, കപ്പദോക്യ,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
പൊന്തൊസ്, ഏഷ്യാപ്രവിശ്യ, ഫ്രുഗ്യ, പംഫുല്യ, ഈജിപ്റ്റ്, കുറേനയ്ക്കു സമീപമുള്ള ലിബ്യാപ്രദേശങ്ങൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നവരും; റോമിൽനിന്ന് വന്ന സന്ദർശകരായ യെഹൂദരും യെഹൂദാമതം സ്വീകരിച്ചവരും ക്രേത്തരും അറബികളും ആയ നാം
11 Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷകളിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അത്ഭുതകാര്യങ്ങൾ, ഇവർ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നു!”
12 And they were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
എല്ലാവരും അത്ഭുതവും പരിഭ്രാന്തിയും നിറഞ്ഞവരായി “ഇത് എന്തായിരിക്കുമോ?” എന്നു പരസ്പരം ചോദിച്ചു.
13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
എന്നാൽ മറ്റുചിലർ, “പുതുവീഞ്ഞിനാൽ ഇവർ ഉന്മത്തരായിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് പരിഹസിച്ചു.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words:
അപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ് മറ്റു പതിനൊന്നുപേരോടുമൊപ്പം എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്ന് ശബ്ദമുയർത്തി ജനത്തെ അഭിസംബോധനചെയ്ത് ഇങ്ങനെ വിശദീകരിച്ചു: “യെഹൂദാജനമേ, ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികൾ എല്ലാവരുമേ, എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേൾക്കുക, ഞാൻ വിശദീകരിക്കാം.
15 For these are not drunk, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
നിങ്ങൾ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇവർ ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവരല്ല; കാരണം, ഇപ്പോൾ രാവിലെ ഒൻപതുമണിമാത്രമല്ലേ ആയിട്ടുള്ളൂ?
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
യോവേൽ പ്രവാചകനിലൂടെ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളതാണിത്:
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
“‘അന്തിമനാളുകളിൽ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെമേലും പകരും; നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും പ്രവചിക്കും, നിങ്ങളുടെ യുവാക്കൾക്കു ദർശനങ്ങളുണ്ടാകും; നിങ്ങളുടെ വൃദ്ധന്മാർ സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾ കാണും.
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will, in those, days pour out of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെയും ദാസിമാരുടെയുംമേലും ആ നാളുകളിൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ പകരും, അതിനാൽ അവരും പ്രവചിക്കും.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
ഞാൻ ഉയരെ ആകാശത്തിൽ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും താഴേ ഭൂമിയിൽ ചിഹ്നങ്ങളും നൽകും— രക്തവും തീയും പുകച്ചുരുളുംതന്നെ.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
കർത്താവിന്റെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും തേജോമയവുമായ ദിവസം വരുന്നതിനുമുമ്പേ സൂര്യൻ ഇരുളായി മാറുകയും ചന്ദ്രൻ രക്തമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും.
21 And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരുവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും,’ എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
“ഇസ്രായേൽജനമേ, ഈ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടാലും: നസറെത്തുകാരനായ യേശു, ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തിലൂടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ചെയ്ത വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ചിഹ്നങ്ങളുംമുഖേന ദൈവംതന്നെ സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തിയ വ്യക്തി ആയിരുന്നുവെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ.
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
ദൈവം തന്റെ നിശ്ചിതപദ്ധതിയാലും പൂർവജ്ഞാനത്താലും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുതന്നു. എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദേതരരുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ നിങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ക്രൂശിന്മേൽ തറച്ചുകൊന്നു.
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
എന്നാൽ, മരണത്തിന്റെ അതിതീവ്രവേദനയിൽ അടക്കിവെക്കാതെ അതിന്റെ ബന്ധനങ്ങളഴിച്ച് ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചു; മരണത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധിതനാക്കിവെക്കുന്നത് അസാധ്യമായിരുന്നു.
25 For David speaketh concerning him, I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
ക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ദാവീദ് പറയുന്നത് ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്: “‘ഞാൻ കർത്താവിനെ എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ എപ്പോഴും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്തുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകുകയില്ല.
26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു, എന്റെ നാവ് ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ശരീരവും പ്രത്യാശയിൽ നിവസിക്കും.
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou allow thy Holy One to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ അവിടന്ന് പാതാളത്തിൽ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല; അവിടത്തെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ ജീർണത കാണാൻ അങ്ങ് അനുവദിക്കുകയുമില്ല. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
ജീവന്റെ വഴികൾ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചു; തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ ആനന്ദത്താൽ നിറയ്ക്കും.’
29 Men, brethren, let me freely speak to you concerning the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us to this day.
“സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, പൂർവപിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെക്കുറിച്ച്, അദ്ദേഹം മരിച്ചുവെന്നും അടക്കപ്പെട്ടുവെന്നും എനിക്ക് നിങ്ങളോട് ഉറപ്പായി പറയാൻകഴിയും; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കല്ലറ ഇന്നുവരെ നമ്മുടെ മധ്യേ ഇവിടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, that from the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
ദാവീദ് ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ആയിരുന്നു: തന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളിൽ ഒരുവനെ ഇരുത്തുമെന്ന് ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ആണയിട്ട് ശപഥംചെയ്ത കാര്യം ദാവീദിന് അറിയാമായിരുന്നു.
31 He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
‘അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പാതാളത്തിൽ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞില്ല; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശരീരം ജീർണത കണ്ടതുമില്ല’ എന്നു ദാവീദ് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനം മുൻകൂട്ടിക്കണ്ട് പ്രവചിച്ചു. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, of which we all are witnesses.
ഈ യേശുവിനെ ദൈവം ഉയിർപ്പിച്ചു; അതിനു ഞങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും സാക്ഷികളാകുന്നു.
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
അദ്ദേഹം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്തേക്ക് ഉയർത്തപ്പെട്ടിട്ട്, പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് എന്ന വാഗ്ദാനം പിതാവിൽനിന്ന് സ്വീകരിച്ച്, സമൃദ്ധമായി നൽകിയതാണ് നിങ്ങൾ ഈ കാണുകയും കേൾക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നത്.
34 For David did not ascend into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
ദാവീദ് സ്വർഗാരോഹണം ചെയ്തില്ലല്ലോ! എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നതിങ്ങനെയാണ്: “‘കർത്താവ് എന്റെ കർത്താവിനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ ചവിട്ടടിയിലാക്കുംവരെ,
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
നീ എന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്ത് ഉപവിഷ്ടനാകുക.”’
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
“അതുകൊണ്ട്, നിങ്ങൾ ക്രൂശിച്ച ഈ യേശുവിനെത്തന്നെ ദൈവം കർത്താവും ക്രിസ്തുവുമാക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് ഇസ്രായേൽജനം മുഴുവനും നിസ്സന്ദേഹം അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men, brethren, what shall we do?
ഇതു കേട്ട ജനം ഹൃദയത്തിൽ മുറിവേറ്റവരായി പത്രോസിനോടും മറ്റ് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടും, “സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങൾ എന്താണ് ചെയ്യേണ്ടത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
38 Then Peter said to them, Repent ye, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
പത്രോസ് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും പാപങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ദൈവത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങുകയും യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സ്നാനം സ്വീകരിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക; അപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിക്കപ്പെടും, പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് എന്ന ദാനം നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിക്കും.
39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവ് തന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കു വിളിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കുംവേണ്ടി ഉള്ളതാണ് ഈ വാഗ്ദാനം—നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കുംമാത്രമല്ല, വിദൂരസ്ഥരായ എല്ലാവർക്കുംകൂടിയാണ്.”
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
ഇതുമാത്രമല്ല, മറ്റനേകം വാക്കുകളിലൂടെ പത്രോസ് അവർക്കു സാക്ഷ്യം നൽകുകയും “വക്രതയുള്ള ഈ തലമുറയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുക,” എന്നു പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added to them about three thousand souls.
അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സന്ദേശം അംഗീകരിച്ചവർ സ്നാനം സ്വീകരിച്ചു. അന്നു മൂവായിരത്തോളംപേർ അവരോടു ചേർന്നു.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
അവർ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ ഉപദേശത്തിലും കൂട്ടായ്മയിലും കർത്തൃമേശാചരണത്തിലും പ്രാർഥനയിലും അർപ്പണബോധത്തോടെ തുടർന്നുവന്നു.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർമുഖേന സംഭവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന അനവധി അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ചിഹ്നങ്ങളുംനിമിത്തം എല്ലാവരുടെയും മനസ്സിൽ ഭക്ത്യാദരങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞു.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things in common;
വിശ്വാസികൾ എല്ലാവരും ഏകഹൃദയത്തോടെ ഒരിടത്തു കൂടിവരികയും വസ്തുവകകൾ എല്ലാം എല്ലാവരുടേതും എന്നപോലെ കരുതുകയും ചെയ്തു.
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്തുവകകളും മറ്റു സമ്പാദ്യങ്ങളും വിറ്റ് ഓരോരുത്തരുടെയും ആവശ്യാനുസരണം അവർ എല്ലാവർക്കുമായി പങ്കിട്ടു.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, ate their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
അവർ നാൾതോറും നിരന്തരമായി ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ ഏകഹൃദയത്തോടെ കൂടിവരികയും വീടുകൾതോറും അപ്പംനുറുക്കുകയും ആനന്ദത്തോടെയും ആത്മാർഥതയോടെയും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുകയും
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അവർ സകലരുടെയും പ്രീതിക്കു പാത്രമായിത്തീർന്നു. ഓരോ ദിവസവും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെ കർത്താവ് ആ കൂട്ടത്തോട് ചേർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
