2 Timothy 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,
ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙ̅ⲡⲱⲛϩ̅ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅.
2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
ⲃ̅ⲉϥⲥϩⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ ⲛ̅ϣⲏⲣⲉ. ⲧⲉⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲛⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ·
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
ⲅ̅ϯϣⲡ̅ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛ̅ⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉϯϣⲙ̅ϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲓⲛⲛⲁⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲥⲩⲛⲓⲇⲏⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ. ⲛ̅ⲑⲉ ⲉϯⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲕⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲁϫⲛ̅ⲱϫⲛ̅ ϩⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲥⲟⲡⲥ̅ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲩϣⲏ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ
4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
ⲇ̅ⲉⲓ̈ⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲕ. ⲉⲉⲓⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲕⲣⲙ̅ⲉⲓⲏ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓ̈ⲉⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ⲣⲁϣⲉ.
5 When I call to remembrance the sincere faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that is in thee also.
ⲉ̅ⲉⲓ̈ϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲣ̅ⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲕ̅ ⲁϫⲛ̅ϩⲩⲡⲟⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲧⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱϩ ⲛ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ̅ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲗⲱⲉⲓⲥ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲕⲙⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲓⲕⲏ. ϯⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲕ̅.
6 For which cause I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the laying on of my hands.
ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ϯⲧⲣⲉⲕⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲕϯⲟⲩⲣⲟⲧ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲕ̅ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲧⲁⲗⲟ ⲛ̅ⲛⲁϭⲓϫ.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
ⲍ̅ⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲙ̅ⲙⲛ̅ⲧϭⲱⲃ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ. ϩⲓⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ϩⲓⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲙ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
ⲏ̅ⲙ̅ⲡⲣ̅ϯϣⲓⲡⲉ ϭⲉ ⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲣⲉ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ. ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲏⲣ ⲛ̅ⲧⲁϥ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϣⲡ̅ϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲛ̅ⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲙ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ.
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (aiōnios g166)
ⲑ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲛ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲙⲛ̅ ϩⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲧⲱϩⲙ̅ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ. ⲉⲛⲕⲁⲧⲁⲛⲉⲛϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲁⲛ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉϥⲧⲱϣ ⲙ̅ⲙⲓⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ. ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲉϥⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲛⲁⲛ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅ ϩⲁⲑⲏ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛ̅ϣⲁⲉⲛⲉϩ. (aiōnios g166)
10 But has now been revealed by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
ⲓ̅ⲉⲁⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲏⲣ ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅. ⲉⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲥϥ̅ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲙⲟⲩ. ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙ̅ⲡⲱⲛϩ̅ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ.
11 To which I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲧ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛ̅ⲕⲩⲣⲏⲝ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛ̅ⲥⲁϩ ϩⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ·
12 For which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him until that day.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲉⲓϣⲱⲡ ⲛ̅ⲛⲉⲉⲓϩⲓⲥⲉ. ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̅ϯϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲁⲛ. ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲓ̈ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ. ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲧⲏⲧ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ̅ϭⲟⲙ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟϥ ⲉϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲧⲁⲡⲁⲣⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲉⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ.
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϫⲓ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛ̅ⲛ̅ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲟϫ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲕⲥⲟⲧⲙⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ⲧⲟⲟⲧ ϩⲛ̅ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲓ̅ⲥ̅.
14 That good thing which was committed to thee keep by the Holy Spirit who dwelleth in us.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ϩⲁⲣⲉϩ ⲉⲡϭⲟⲓ̈ⲗⲉ ⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ϩⲓⲧⲙ̅ⲡⲉⲡ̅ⲛ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ. ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲛ̅
15 This thou knowest, that all they who are in Asia are turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲕⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲡⲁⲓ̈ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲧ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϭⲓⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϩⲛ̅ⲧⲁⲥⲓⲁ. ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲉⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛ̅ϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲫⲩⲅⲉⲗⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ̅ϩⲉⲣⲙⲟⲅⲉⲛⲏⲥ·
16 The Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain:
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ϯ ⲛ̅ⲟⲩⲛⲁ ⲙ̅ⲡⲏⲉⲓ ⲛ̅ⲟⲛ̅ⲏⲥⲓⲫⲟⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁϥϯⲙ̅ⲧⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲛ̅ϩⲁϩ ⲛ̅ⲥⲟⲡ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙ̅ⲡϥ̅ϯϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲛ̅ⲛⲁⲙⲣ̅ⲣⲉ.
17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛ̅ⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲉϩⲣⲱⲙⲏ ⲁϥϭⲉⲡⲏ ⲉϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛ̅ⲥⲱⲓ̈ ⲁϥϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ̈.
18 The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered to me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲡϫⲟⲓ̈ⲥ ϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϩⲉ ⲉⲩⲛⲁ ⲛ̅ⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ̅ⲡϫⲟⲓ̈ⲥ ϩⲙ̅ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙ̅ⲙⲁⲩ. ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ̈ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲛ̅ⲉⲫⲉⲥⲟⲥ ⲕⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙ̅ⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛ̅ϩⲟⲩⲟ·
