2 Samuel 1
1 Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David had returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;
ಸೌಲನ ಮರಣದ ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ, ಚಿಕ್ಲಗಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಬಂದು, ಎರಡು ದಿವಸ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ,
2 It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes torn, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.
ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು, ಸೌಲನ ಪಾಳೆಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ನೆಲದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಬಾಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದನು.
3 And David said to him, From where comest thou? And he said to him, Out of the camp of Israel have I escaped.
ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಪಾಳೆಯದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
4 And David said to him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people have fled from the battle, and many of the people also have fallen and are dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಡೆದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವೇನು? ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು, “ಜನರು ಯುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಸತ್ತರು. ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಸತ್ತರು,” ಎಂದನು.
5 And David said to the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?
ದಾವೀದನು ತನಗೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಹೇಳಿದ ಯುವಕನಿಗೆ, “ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಸತ್ತರೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು?” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದನು.
6 And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.
ಆಗ ಅವನು, “ನಾನು ಅಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೆನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಊರಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ರಥಗಳೂ ರಾಹುತರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡೇ ಇದ್ದರು.
7 And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called to me. And I answered, Here am I.
ಅವನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ನೋಡಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕರೆದನು. ಆಗ ನಾನು, ‘ಇದ್ದೇನೆ,’ ಎಂದೆನು.
8 And he said to me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.
“ಆಗ ಅವನು, ‘ನೀನ್ಯಾರು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. “‘ನಾನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯನು,’ ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟೆನು.
9 He said to me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
“ಅವನು ನನಗೆ, ‘ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಇನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಂಕಟವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ,’ ಎಂದನು.
10 So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he had fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord.
“ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಬಿದ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ ಬದುಕಲಾರನೆಂದು ನಾನು ತಿಳಿದು, ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದೆನು. ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿದ್ದ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ತೋಳಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
11 Then David took hold on his clothes, and tore them; and likewise all the men that were with him:
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು,
12 And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until evening, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they had fallen by the sword.
ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜನರೂ ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ, ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿ ಅತ್ತು, ಅಸ್ತಮಾನದವರೆಗೂ ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
13 And David said to the young man that told him, From where art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
ದಾವೀದನು ತನಗೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಯುವಕನನ್ನು, “ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯವನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು, “ನಾನು ವಿದೇಶಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯನು,” ಎಂದನು.
14 And David said to him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thy hand to destroy the LORD’S anointed?
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಲು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈ ಎತ್ತುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಭಯಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
15 And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.
ಯುವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, “ನೀನು ಇವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲು,” ಎಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಕೊಂದನು.
16 And David said to him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD’S anointed.
ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದೆನೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ನಿನ್ನ ರಕ್ತವು ನಿನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
17 And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:
ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಮಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಶೋಕದಿಂದ ಈ ಗೀತೆ ಹಾಡಿ ಗೋಳಾಡಿದನು.
18 (Also he told them to teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಿಲ್ಲೆ ಎಂಬ ಗೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಇದು ಯಾಷಾರನ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ:
19 Thy glory, O Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!
“ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೊಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ. ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದರು!
20 Tell it not in Gath, proclaim it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
“ಗತ್ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಅಷ್ಕೆಲೋನಿನ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಬಾರದು; ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಪಡಬಾರದು.
21 Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.
“ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಂಜೂ ಮಳೆಯೂ ಬೀಳದೆ ಇರಲಿ, ನೈವೇದ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಫಲಿಸುವ ಹೊಲಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೂ ಅವಮಾನಗೊಂಡು ಬಿದ್ದವು. ಸೌಲನ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೂ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನಲ್ಲದವನ ಗುರಾಣಿಯಂತೆ ಆಯಿತು.
22 From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.
“ಹತರಾದವರ ರಕ್ತದಿಂದಲೂ, ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸೌಲನ ಖಡ್ಗ ತೃಪ್ತಿಗೊಳ್ಳದೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
23 Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
ಸೌಲನೂ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪ್ರಿಯಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ, ಸಂತೋಷಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಮರಣದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಗಲಿ ಹೋಗದೆ ಇದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಹದ್ದುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ವೇಗವುಳ್ಳವರೂ, ಸಿಂಹಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳವರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು.
24 Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
“ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಪುತ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಸೌಲನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಳಿರಿ. ನಿಮಗೆ ರಕ್ತಾಂಬರವನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಿಸಿದನಲ್ಲಾ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉಡುಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನಲ್ಲಾ.
25 How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thy high places.
“ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯೋನಾತಾನನೇ, ನೀನು ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹತನಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವಿ.
26 I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been to me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಶೋಕಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಮನೋಹರನಾಗಿದ್ದಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಕರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾದದ್ದು.
27 How have the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
“ಹೇಗೆ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯುದ್ಧದ ಆಯುಧಗಳು ನಾಶವಾಗಿ ಹೋದವಲ್ಲಾ.”
