2 Chronicles 33

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:

Manasés tenía doce años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y cinco años en Jerusalén.

2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, conforme a las abominaciones de las gentes que Yahvé había arrojado de delante de los hijos de Israel.

3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

Volvió a edificar los lugares altos que Ezequías su padre, había derribado, erigió altares a los Baales, fabricó ascheras, adoró a todo el ejército del cielo y le dio culto.

4 Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

Erigió también altares en la Casa de Yahvé, de la cual había dicho Yahvé: “En Jerusalén estará mi Nombre eternamente.”

5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

Edificó altares a todo el ejército del cielo en los dos atrios de la Casa de Yahvé,

6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a medium, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

e hizo pasar a sus hijos por el fuego en el valle de Ben-Hinnom; se dedicaba a la adivinación, a la magia y a la hechicería; instituyó nigromantes y agoreros, e hizo mucha maldad a los ojos de Yahvé, provocándole a ira.

7 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

Puso la imagen del ídolo que había hecho, en la Casa de Dios, de la cual Dios había dicho a David y a Salomón, su hijo: “En esta Casa y en Jerusalén que he escogido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, estableceré mi Nombre eternamente.

8 Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from the land which I have appointed for your fathers; provided they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.

Y no apartaré más el pie de Israel de sobre el suelo que he asignado a sus padres, con tal que guarden y practiquen todo lo que les he mandado, según toda la Ley, los mandamientos y preceptos, (que les he dado) por Moisés.

9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

Manasés hizo prevaricar a Judá y a los habitantes de Jerusalén de tal modo que hicieron mayores males que las gentes que Yahvé había destruido delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.

Habló Yahvé a Manasés y a su pueblo; pero no hicieron caso.

11 Therefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

Entonces Yahvé hizo venir sobre ellos los jefes del ejército del rey de Asiria, que apresaron a Manasés con ganchos, le ataron con cadenas de bronce y le llevaron a Babilonia.

12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

Cuando se vio en angustia imploró a Yahvé su Dios, humillándose profundamente en presencia del Dios de sus padres.

13 And prayed to him: and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he is God.

Oró a Yahvé, y Este le fue propicio, oyó su oración y le concedió el retorno a Jerusalén, a su reino. Entonces conoció Manasés que Yahvé es Dios.

14 Now after this he built a wall outside the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate, and surrounded Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fortified cities of Judah.

Después de esto edificó una muralla exterior para la ciudad de David, al occidente del Gihón, en el valle, hasta la entrada de la puerta del Pescado, de modo que cercó el Ofel, y elevó (la muralla) a gran altura. Puso también jefes del ejército en todas las plazas fuertes de Judá.

15 And he took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

Quitó de la Casa de Yahvé los dioses extraños, la imagen y todos los altares que había erigido en el monte de la Casa de Yahvé y en Jerusalén, y los echó fuera de la ciudad.

16 And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed on it peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.

Reedificó el altar de Yahvé, y ofreció sobre él sacrificios pacíficos y de acción de gracias, y mandó a Judá que sirviese a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.

17 Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, yet to the LORD their God only.

Sin embargo el pueblo ofrecía aún sacrificios en los lugares altos, bien que solo a Yahvé su Dios.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers that spoke to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.

Los demás hechos de Manasés, su oración a Dios, y las palabras de los videntes que le hablaron en nombre de Yahvé, Dios de Israel, he aquí que esto está escrito en los anales de los reyes de Israel.

19 His prayer also, and how God was entreated by him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

Su oración y cómo fue oído, todo su pecado, su apostasía, los lugares altos que edificó y donde puso ascheras y estatuas, antes de humillarse, he aquí que esto está escrito en las Palabras de Hozai.

20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

Durmiose Manasés con sus padres, y le sepultaron en su posesión. En su lugar reinó Amón su hijo.

21 Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.

Amón tenía veinte y dos años cuando empezó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén.

22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed to all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;

Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé imitando lo que había hecho su padre Manasés. Amón ofreció sacrificios a todas las imágenes que había hecho su padre Manasés, y les rindió culto;

23 And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

pero no se humilló delante de Yahvé como su padre Manasés; al contrario, Amón cometió aún más pecados.

24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.

Conspiraron contra él sus siervos, que le dieron muerte en su casa.

25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Pero el pueblo del país mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón, y proclamó por rey en su lugar a Josías, su hijo.
