< 2 Chronicles 13 >

1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah.
Bere a Yeroboam dii hene wɔ Israel no, ne mfe dunwɔtwe so, na Abia fii ase dii hene wɔ Yuda.
2 He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
Odii hene mfe abiɛsa wɔ Yerusalem. Na ne na din de Maaka a ɔyɛ Uriel a ofi Gibea no babea. Na ɔko baa Abia ne Yeroboam ntam.
3 And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour.
Ɔhene Abia de akofo akɛse mpem ahannan dii Yuda anim, kohyiaa Yeroboam a ɔno nso akɔfa mmarima akofo akokodurufo mpem ahanwɔtwe afi Israel.
4 And Abijah stood upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel;
Bere a Yuda asraafo no duu Efraim mmepɔw nsase no so no, Abia gyinaa bepɔw Semaraim so, teɛɛ mu kyerɛɛ Yeroboam ne Israelfo asraafo no se, “Muntie me!
5 Ought ye not to know that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
Munnim sɛ Awurade, Israel Nyankopɔn, ne Dawid yɛɛ daa apam de Israel ahengua maa ɔne nʼasefo afebɔɔ ana?
6 Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, hath risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord.
Nanso Nebat babarima Yeroboam a na ɔyɛ Dawid babarima Salomo somfo teta bi no bɛyɛɛ ne wura ɔfatwafo.
7 And there are gathered to him worthless men, base fellows, and they have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.
Na ɛmaa ahuhufo dɔm kɔboaa no, bu faa Salomo babarima Rehoboam so na esiane sɛ na onnyinii, na onni osuahu biara nti, wantumi annyina ne wɔn anni asi.
8 And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye are a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.
“Wugye di yiye sɛ wubetumi agyina, atia Awurade ahenni a Dawid asefo tua ano no? Wʼasraafodɔm no so yiye. Nantwimma a Yeroboam de sikakɔkɔɔ yɛɛ no ne mo anyame.
9 Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have appointed priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.
Woapam Awurade asɔfo ne Lewifo no, na woahyɛ wʼankasa asɔfo te sɛ abosomman no pɛ. Nnɛ yi, woma obiara bɛyɛ ɔsɔfo. Obiara a ɔde nantwi ba ne adwennini ason bɛba sɛ wonnyina so nhyɛ no sɔfo no, otumi bɛyɛ ɔsɔfo ma saa mo anyame no.
10 But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, who minister to the LORD, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:
“Na yɛn de, Awurade ne yɛn Nyankopɔn, na yennyaa no da. Aaron asefo nko ara na wɔsom Awurade sɛ asɔfo, na Lewifo nko ara na wotumi boa wɔn wɔ wɔn dwumadi mu.
11 And they burn to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the showbread also they set in order upon the pure table; and the lampstand of gold with its lamps, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have forsaken him.
Wɔde ɔhyew afɔrebɔde ne ɔhyew aduhuam brɛ Awurade daa anɔpa ne anwummere. Wɔde Daa Daa Brodo no to ɔpon kronkron no so, na daa anwummere, wɔsɔ sikakɔkɔɔ kaneadua no. Yɛredi Awurade, yɛn Nyankopɔn, nkyerɛkyerɛ so, nanso moagyaw no.
12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
Enti ɛsɛ sɛ mote ase sɛ Onyankopɔn ka yɛn ho. Ɔno ne yɛn kannifo. Nʼasɔfo hyɛn wɔn torobɛnto, di yɛn anim, de yɛn kɔ ɔko tia mo. Israelfo, monnko ntia Awurade, mo agyanom Nyankopɔn no, na morenni nkonim.”
13 But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.
Nanso na Yeroboam ayɛ nwaa ama nʼakofo a wɔwɔ hɔ no bi afa Yuda mmarima akyi akɔtetɛw wɔn.
14 And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried to the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
Bere a Yuda huu sɛ wofi wɔn anim ne wɔn akyi atow ahyɛ wɔn so no, wosu frɛɛ Awurade sɛ ɔmmoa wɔn. Na asɔfo no hyɛn ntorobɛnto,
15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
na Yuda mmarima no fii ase teɛteɛɛ mu. Wɔn ko no mu nteɛteɛmu no mu no, Onyankopɔn kaa Yeroboam ne Israel asraafo no gui, wɔ Abia ne Yuda asraafodɔm anim.
16 And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand.
Israel asraafo no guan fii Yuda, na Onyankopɔn maa Yuda dii nkonim.
17 And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men.
Abia ne nʼakofo kunkum Israel asraafo no bebree. Da no, wɔn a wɔtotɔɔ wɔ Israel asraafo a wodi mu mu no yɛ mpem ahannum.
18 Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.
Na Yuda dii Israel so nkonim, efisɛ wɔde wɔn ho too Awurade, wɔn agyanom Nyankopɔn no so.
19 And Abijah pursued Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with its towns, and Jeshanah with its towns, and Ephrain with its towns.
Abia ne nʼakofo kɔɔ so taa Yeroboam asraafo no, faa wɔn nkurow no bi te sɛ Bet-El, Yesana ne Efron ne ɛho nkurow.
20 Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died.
Enti bere a Abia te ase no de, Yeroboam a ɔyɛ Israelhene annya tumi biara, na akyiri no, Awurade bɔɔ no ma owui.
21 But Abijah became mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters.
Yudahene Abia kɔɔ so nyaa tumi. Ɔwaree yerenom dunan. Ɔwoo mmabarima aduonu abien ne mmea dunsia.
22 And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.
